<![CDATA[ AbstrakPenelitian dilaksanakan di Kecamatan Denpasar Barat, Kota Denpasar dengan tujuan: (1) menganalisis faktor pendorong kemunculan pengemis perkotaan, dan (2) menganalisis faktor penarik pengemis perkotaan. Rancangan penelitian menggunakan rancangan deskriptif dengan metode studi kasus. Penentuan sampel menggunakan teknik snowball sampling. Data dikumpulkan dengan teknik observasi dan wawancara mendalam, dan dianalisis menggunakan analisis deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Faktor pendorong kemunculan pengemis perkotaan dipengaruhi oleh faktor ekonomi meliputi ketiadaan orang yang menanggung hidup, jumlah penghasilan yang tidak mencukupi kebutuhan, keterbatasan keahlian, dan ketidakharmonisan hubungan rumah tangga; dan (2) faktor penarik pengemis perkotaan dipengaruhi oleh faktor daya tarik pekerjaan mengemis yang mudah, fleksibel dan praktis, terutama dipengaruhi oleh simpati calon dermawan, tidak memerlukan waktu lama, rerata penghasilan yang relatif besar dan pemilihan lokasi yang strategis. Kedua faktor pendorong dan penarik ini merupakan kekuatan sentripetal yang mendorong individu dari luar kota untuk mengemis di wilayah Kota Denpasar, khususnya di Kecamatan Denpasar Barat.Kata kunci: pengemis perkotaan, faktor pendorong dan penarik AbstractThe research was conducted in the District of West Denpasar, Denpasar City with the aim of: (1) analyze the push factors the existence of urban beggars, and (2) analyze the pull factors of urban beggars. The design of the study design was descriptive with case study method. The samples using snowball sampling technique. Data collected by observation and depth-interview, and analyzed by descriptive analysis. The results showed that: (1) The push factors for the existence of urban beggars influenced by economic factors include the absence of those who bear life, the amount of income that is insufficient, limited expertise, and disharmony of households relationship; and (2) of the pull factors of urban beggars influenced by the attractiveness of begging is easy, flexible and practical, mainly influenced by sympathy prospective benefactor, does not require a long time, the average income is relatively large and the selection of strategic locations. Both push and pull factors is a centripetal force that encourages people from outside the city to beg in the city of Denpasar, particularly in West Denpasar District.Keywords: urban beggars, push and pull factors]]>
