Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis representasi sejarah pers di masa sebelum kemerdekaan dan pascakemerdekaan Indonesia dalam novel Mencari Sarang Angin karya Suparto Brata. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan sejarah. Dalam penelitian ini dimanfaatan teori new historicism. Hasil penelitan ini adalah paparan analisis representasi sejarah pers di masa Hindia-Belanda, Jepang, masa kemerdekaan, dan sampai masa pemberotakan PKI. Representasi sejarah tersebut berkaitan dengan peran penting pers. Pers digambarkan mempunyai posisi strategis dalam kemerdekaan dan kesatuan Indonesia. Hal itu mencerminan bahwa representasi sejarah ini merupakan wujud perlawanan terhadap pemerintah Orde Baru yang sangat membatasi pers. Oleh karena itu, dapat disimpulkan bahwa dala novel Mencari Sarang Angin disusun sebuah sejarah baru yang memposisikan pers sebagai lembaga utama yang berjasa dalam kemerdekaan dan kesatuan Indonesia.Abstract: This study aims to analyze the the press history representation before and after Indonesia's independece in Mencari Sarang Angin novel by Suparto Brata. This study is a qualitative study with a historical approach. In this study, the theory of new historicism is utilized. The result of this study is an analysis of press history representation of Hindia Belanda, Japan, the Independence Period, until the PKI rebellion. This historical representation is related to the important role of the press. The press is depicted to have a strategic position in Indonesia's independence and unity. This reflects that historical representation is a form of resistance against Orde Baru government which severely restricted the press. Therefore, it can be concluded that in the novel Mencari Sarang Angin a new history was compiled that positioned the press as the main institution that contributed to Indonesia's independence and unity.
