Long whiskers fish (Macrones gulio) has an important economically value and commonly utilized as food resources for people. Study on food habit and reproduction the fish as base for resource management is limited. This study aims to assess food habits and reproduction of the fish including food kind, food abundance, sex ratio, gonad maturity, size of first mature gonads, gonad somatic index, fecundity and oocyte diameter. Study was carried out for three months, from December 2014 to February 2015. Total number of the observed fish was 201 individuals, consisted of 98 male and 103female. This result shows that the fish was omnivore tend to carnivore with crustacean as a main food. The sex ratio of male and female was 1,0:1,1. The mature female gonad was earlier than male one. Fecundity of the fish was 3100–24459 oocytes with the two modes, indicating a partial spawner.
