Abstract

Poverty is a crucial problem faced by all countries in the world, especially in developing countries like Indonesia. Until the year 2010, Central Statistical Agency estimates almost 31, 02 million people or 13.33 percent of the total population of Indonesia are still living in poor conditions which are dominated by women. They lack of not only economic, but also any identity, protection, knowledge, access, participation, and good control in the field of health, education, and politics. So it is fair to say that poverty in Indonesia is faced women. Learning from women’s strategies tile makers survive in the midst of poverty they experienced, it becomes the inspiration of this paper. With a little effort to publicize the knowledge they have, the author hopes this will be a solution to the problems of poverty that seems to never fade from life. Keywords: women, poverty
