Abstract

The main cause of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) smoking, which is active smokers and inhalation of cigarette from passive smoker. Currently COPD is the fourth leading cause of death in the world. In year of 2030, COPD is estimated to be the third leading cause of death in the world.This study aimed to understand and identify the risk factor of COPD in Semen Padang Hospital in the month of January to December 2018. This research was conducted in the medical record section of Semen Padang Hospital with the population of COPD in 2018. The type of research used is descriptive observational research with 65 samples. Univariate analysis is presented in the form of a frequency distribution table. Based on the results of the research on patients COPD, the age that has the most is >65 years old (56,9%), the sex with the most are male (89,2%), and the most COPD patients were retirees (29,2%).
