PENGARUH PENGGUNAAN METODE COPY THE MASTER DAN MIND MAPPING TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN NENULIS CERITA PENDEK SISWA KELAS X SMA AL HUDA

Abstract

Abstract This study aims to determine the effect of using the Copy the Master method and the Mind Mapping method on the ability of grade X students in writing short stories. In addition, this study also aims to determine the difference between the use of the Copy the Master method and the Mind Mapping method and its effect on the ability to write short stories of grade X students. The method used in this research is quantitative research method with simple random sampling technique. The researcher conducted the research by conducting pretest and posttest activities in the form of writing short stories for class X students. The data used in this study are in the form of assignments to students to write short stories using the Copy the Master method and the Mind Mapping method, then the results of the short story writing work sheets are examined so that it can be seen how the effect of using the two methods on students' ability to write short stories. This study found that in improving students' short story writing ability, the use of the Copy the Master method is better than the Mind Mapping method. This can be seen from the average posttest score and pretest score that has been carried out by class X students. In applying the Copy the Master method, the average pretest score was 53.04 and the average posttest score was 76.48. While in the application of the Mind Mapping method, the average pretest score was 55.96 and the posttest score was 64, 32. Keywords: short story, mind mapping method, copy the master method Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan metode Copy the Master dan metode Mind Mapping terhadap kemampuan siswa kelas X dalam menulis cerita pendek. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan antara penggunaan metode Copy the Master dan metode Mind Mapping serta pengaruhnya terhadap kemampuan menulis cerita pendek siswa kelas X. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian kuantitatif dengan teknik pengambilan sampel simple random sampling. Peneliti melakukan penelitian dengan melakukan kegiatan pretest dan posttest berupa penulisan cerita pendek pada siswa kelas X. Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berupa penugasan kepada siswa untuk menulis cerita pendek menggunakan metode Copy the Master dan metode Mind Mapping yang kemudian lembar hasil pengerjaan menulis cerita pendek tersebut diteliti sehingga dapat diketahui bagaimana pengaruh penggunaan kedua metode tersebut terhadap kemampuan siswa dalam menulis cerita pendek. Dari penelitian ini didapatkan hasil bahwa dalam meningkatkan kemampuan menulis cerita pendek siswa, penggunaan metode Copy the Master lebih baik dibandingkan metode Mind Mapping. Hal tersebut dapat dilihat dari rata-rata skor posttest dan skor pretest yang telah dilaksanakan oleh siswa kelas X. Dalam penerapan metode Copy the Master, rata-rata skor pretest adalah 53,04 dan rata-rata skor posttest adalah 76,48. Sedangkan dalam penerapan metode Mind Mapping, rata-rata skor pretest adalah 55,96 dan skor posttest adalah 64, 32. Kata-kata kunci: cerita pendek, metode mind mapping, metode copy the master
