The current ecological crisis is caused by individuals incomprehension with the importance of protecting the environment. This can be used as a minimum parameter for environment literacy so that education is needed. The Green School program can be utilized for developing and strengthening enviromental caring character because it has a commitment and systematically develops activities that internalize environmental values into all school activities. This research examines the process of implementing the Green School program, the challenges in implementing the program and the environmental care skills of students at Tanjung Barat 04 Pagi Jakarta Elementary School, through a qualitative approach using data collection techniques, specifically interviews, observation and documentation. The research results found that the process of implementing the Green School program was carried out in a planned manner. This is based on the motto and objectives of the government educational unit which are relevant to the supporting activity program. Activities are carried out comprehensively in intracurricular, extracurricular and co-curricular activities that involve school stakeholders. The challenges found are related to infrastructure, students who are inconsistent commiting in the program and the need to revitalize the school's vision and mission based on environmentally friendly aspects. Regardless of the challenges that exist, students reflect clean and healthy living behavior and care about the environment, apart from that, students' is not only recognize environmental care insight, but also understand the nature of preserving the environment. This is reflected in daily behavior and the clean, green and beautiful state of the school environment.
