Pendidikan Mitigasi Bencana Tsunami dengan Menggunakan Media Pembelajaran Buku Saku Pada Masyarakat Pesisir Desa Karanggadung Kecamatan Petanahan Kabupaten Kebumen

Abstract

Karanggadung Village is one of the villages located in the southern coastal area of Petanahan Subdistrict which has the potential of tsunami disaster and there are houses that directly adjacent to the sea. Utilization of BNPB pocket book in educational process that involves the community can be used as an alternative learning media that can support the learning process. The objectives of this research are (1) To know the level of community knowledge about tsunami disaster mitigation, (2) to know the community response to the use of BNPB pocket book as a learning media in tsunami disaster mitigation education, and (3) to know the effectiveness of using BNPB pocket book as learning media in community. Research location in Karanggadung Village, Petanahan District with sample of 60 people. Methods of data collection are: observation method, test method, questionnaire method and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the level of community knowledge about tsunami disaster mitigation is 47% (pre disaster), 26% (during disaster), and 29% (post disaster). The response of pocket book usage is 73% and the effectiveness of usage of pocket book media is 0.2231 which fall into low category. It can be concluded that the level of community knowledge about tsunami disaster mitigation is still low and the learning media used in tsunami disaster mitigation education has not been effective in supporting learning. Desa Karanggadung merupakan salah satu desa yang berada di wilayah pesisir selatan Kecamatan Petanahan yang mempunyai potensi bencana tsunami. Pemanfaatan buku saku BNPB dalam proses pendidikan yang melibatkan masyarakat dapat digunakan sebagai alternatif media pembelajaran yang mampu mendukung proses pembelajaran. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu (1)Mengetahui tingkat pengetahuan masyarakat mengenai mitigasi bencana tsunami, (2)Mengetahui respon masyarakat terhadap penggunaan buku saku BNPB sebagai media pembelajaran dalam pendidikan mitigasi bencana tsunami, dan (3)Mengetahui efektivitas penggunaan buku saku BNPB sebagai media pembelajaran di masyarakat. Lokasi penelitian di Desa Karanggadung Kecamatan Petanahan dengan sampel masyarakat yang berjumlah 60 orang. Metode pengumpulan data berupa: metode observasi,metode tes, metode angket dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa tingkat pengetahuan masyarakat mengenai mitigasi bencana tsunami sebesar 47% (pra bencana),26% (saat terjadi bencana), dan 29%(pasca bencana). Respon penggunaan buku saku sebesar 73% dan efektivitas penggunaan media buku saku sebesar 0,2231 yang masuk dalam kategori rendah. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa tingkat pengetahuan masyarakat mengenai mitigasi bencana tsunami masih rendah dan media pembelajaran yang digunakan dalam pendidikan mitigasi bencana tsunami belum efektif dalam mendukung pembelajaran.
