Abstract

Bakteri probiotik adalah mikroba yang bersifat menguntungkan dari golongan Bakteri Asam Laktat (BAL). Antara bakteri yang menguntungkan dan patogen akan terjadi kompetisi. Pertumbuhan Bakteri Asam Laktat (BAL) di usus manusia dapat distimulasi dengan cara memberikan substrat- substrat yang dapat dicerna oleh bakteri tersebut sehingga populasinya meningkat dan melawan bakteri patogen. Substrat- substrat yang dapat digunakan oleh BAL untuk menstimulasi pertumbuhannya dikenal dengan nama prebiotik. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan berbagai dosis bakteri probiotik Lactobacillus casei terhadap jumlah penurunan bakteri Shigella dysenteriae. Desain penelitian ini adalah Post Test with Control. Dalam desain penelitian ini terdapat kontrol dan kelompok eksperimen. Penghitungan jumlah Bakteri Shigella dysenteriae dengan menggunakan selektif media Mac Conkey Agar. Data didapatkan dari jumlah bakteri Shigella dysenteriae setelah penambahan probiotik Lactobacillus casei. Pengolahan data menggunakan software pengolah data. Uji statistik yang digunakan adalah One Way Anova dengan taraf signifikan 5%. Hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan didapatkan rerata jumlah penurunan bakteri Shigella dysenteriae pada media Mac Conkey Agar adalah 48.14 x 105 CFU/ml, 45.76 x 105 CFU/ml, 42.10 x 105 CFU/ml, 35.90 x 105 CFU/ml, 32.76 x 105 CFU/ml. Hasil uji Anova One Way diperoleh nilai signifikansi 0.000 (<0.05). Ada pengaruh bermakna penambahan berbagai dosis bakteri probiotik Lactobacillus casei terhadap penurunan jumlah bakteri Shigella dysenteriae

Abstract

Hipertensi merupakan faktor resiko utama dari perkembangan penyakit jantung dan stroke. Penyakit hipertensi berkembang secara perlahan, tetapi secara potensial sangat berbahaya. Hipertensi biasanya dikuti dengan penyakit lain yang menyertainya seperti hiperlipidemia Salah satu profil lipid yang dapat diukur adanya hiperlipidemia adalah kadar kolesterol total. Upaya pengendalian hipertensi yang disebabkan kadar kolesterol total yang tinggi yaitu dengan cara pengobatan baik sercara farmakologi maupun non-farmakologi. Pengobatan non-farmakologi salah satunya adalah terapi bekam basah.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui selisih rata-rata kadar kolesterol total pada penderita hipertensi sebelum, sesudah diberikan terapi bekam basah pertama dan kedua dengan pola tiga titik. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah pre-experimental dengan desain penelitian pre and post test without control yaitu kadar kolesterol total sebelum dilakukan terapi bekam basah adalah pre test, sedangkan kadar kolesterol total setelah dilakukan terapi bekam basah adalah post test. Hasil didapatkan rata – rata kadar kolesterol total sebelum dilakukan terapi bekam basah adalah 194,89 mg/dl, setelah dilakukan terapi bekam basah pertama sebesar 200,89 mg/dl dan setelah dilakukan terapi bekam basah kedua menjadi 200, 33 mg/dl. Kesimpulann dari penelitian ini adalah selisih rata – rata kadar kolesterol total sebelum terapi bekam basah dengan setelah terapi bekam basah pertama adalah 6,00 mg/dl atau mengalami kenaikan sebesar 3,08% sedangkan selisih rata – rata kadar kolesterol total sebelum terapi bekam basah dengan setelah terapi bekam basah kedua adalah 5,44 mg/dl atau mengalami kenaikan sebesar 2,79%.

Abstract

Medical devices that are susceptible to bacteria contaminated one of them is a stethoscope. Nosocomial infections that are problematic in the hospital include Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aerogenosa. These bacteria can cause mild skin infections to serious life-threatening infections. The purpose of this research is to know the existence of bacteria contamination of Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aerogenosa on steteskop at Banjarbaru hospital. This research uses descriptive survey method, which is a research method to describe objectively based on facts found. The samples were stethoscope in child care room, internal medicine room, delivery room, post partum room, perinatology room, and post-surgical treatment room at Banjarbaru hospital for 30 stethoscopes.The result of the research was found contamination of Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aerogenosa on steteskop. The site home condition of the research data was 66.7% cleaned daily, the storage method was placed on the table 70% and the duration of using the set home more than 1 year as much as 70%. The conclusion of stethoscope at Banjarbaru Hospital was contaminated with Staphylococcus aureus by 70% and Pseudomonas aerogenosa by 17%. The suggestion of research can be continued by knowing the existence of Staphylococcus aureus resistant antibiotic and Pseudomonas aerogenous antibiotic resistant at steteskop at Hospital.

Abstract

Cardiovascular disease is a disease that causes the most deaths in the world. One of its main risk factor is triglyceride levels which make the emergence of plaque in coronary artery. Statin as an option drug in reducing triglyceride levels apparently reported to cause myopathy and kidney failure when used in a long term. Natural product like red dragon fruit began to be developed as a safer alternative. The content of various substances such as niacin, vitamin C and fiber in it useful as antihypertriglyceridemia. This study aims to determine the effect of red dragon fruit (Hylocereus polyrhizus) juice to the decrease of triglyceride levels in hyperlipidemic white rats (Rattus norvegicus). This study was an experimental study with pre and post test with control group design. The subjects were 24 male experimental animals (Rattus norvegicus) were divided into 4 groups: one positive control group given simvastatin 0.18 mg/ 200 gram of weight and three groups treated with red dragon fruit juice doses of 3.6; 5.4 and 7.2 gram/ 200 gram of weight. Then, data were analyzed escriptively with One-Way ANOVA test using SPSS 16.0 for Windows. Results with descriptive analysis obtained that mean of positive control’s pre-test triglyceride level was 104.80 mg/ dl and treatment groups I, II and III respectively 108.15 mg/ dl, 106.47 mg/ dl and 107.43 mg/ dl whereas positive control’s post-test triglyceride level was 51.09 mg/ dl and for the treatment groups were 94.64 mg /dl, 71.01 mg/ dl and 58.75 mg/ dl. One Way ANOVA test obtained p <0.05 which indicated the difference between the treatment of various doses of red dragon fruit juice to white rats’ triglyceride levels. Based on that, means there is the effect of various doses of red dragon fruit (Hylocereus polyrhizus) juice to the decrease of triglyceride levels in hyperlipidemic white rats (Rattus norvegicus).

Abstract

Geplak merupakan salah satu makanan khas di Yogyakarta, yang dibuat dari kelapa yang diparut, dicampur gula, disangrai dan kemudian dibentuk bola-bola. Geplak dibuat berwarna-warni untuk meningkatkan daya tarik pembeli. Konsumen perlu waspada dalam mengkonsumsi geplak, karena masih banyak terdapat produk makanan berwarna menggunakan zat perwarna yang dilarang khususnya Rhodamin B dan Methanyl Yellow. Rhodamin B dan Methanyl Yellow pada makanan apabila dikonsumsi dapat menyebabkan gangguan kesehatan. Penelitian yang dilakukan ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui prosentase penggunaan zat pewarna Rhodamin B dan Methanyl Yellow pada geplak yang beredar di beberapa toko oleh-oleh di Kota Yogyakarta tahun 2016. Sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 29 sampel diperoleh dari beberapa toko oleh-oleh di Kota Yogyakarta yang terdiri dari 19 sampel berwarna merah dan 10 sampel berwarna kuning. Sampel tersebut diuji kandungan Rhodamin B dan Methanyl Yellow secara kualitatif dengan metode kromatografi lapis tipis (KLT). Hasil uji laboratorium terhadap 19 geplak berwarna merah menunjukkan 1 sampel geplak positif Rhodamin B (5,3%), dan dari 10 sampel geplak berwarna kuning tidak ada yang mengandung Methanyl Yellow.

Abstract

Colorectal cancer is one of the five type of highest insiden in Indonesia. One of development cancer therapeutics directed to combination of chemotherapeutic agent and chemopreventive compounds. One approach to finding a chemopreventive compounds is through the exploration of natural ingredient especialy herbs. Flavonoids is group of compounds from plants that have been widely studied as anti-cancer activity. Leave of pigeonpea (Cajanus cajan) is, kind of Legumes plants rich in flavonoids among others cajanol, quercetin, luteolin, apigenin formonentin, vitexin, orientin, biochanin A, pinostrobin, dan isorhamnetin. This study aims to determine the content of chemical compounds in the methanol extract of leave pigeon pea that has anticancer activity using WiDr colorectal cancer cells with MTT (3-(4, 5-dimethylthiazolyl-2)-2, 5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide) method, followed by flowcytometry test. The result of the cytotoxicity test of methanol extract of pigeonpea leaves have IC50 of 307 ug/ml and with flowcytometry method showed necrosis WiDr cell.

Abstract

Consumption of excessive fat in the food that we consume daily can increase cholesterol, LDL cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood that is called dyslipidemia. Diet, exercise and drugs are the effort can be done to lower the lipid levels. The herbs have been widely used as an alternative to lower cholesterol levels because the active substances contained antihiperlipid properties. Soursop has many benefits in curing some diseases. Soursop contains an active ingredient that can lower LDL’s cholesterol levels, including vitamin C, fiber and niacin. Therefore, the researchers wanted to do experiment using soursop as an alternative for lowering LDL’s cholesterol levels in dyslipidemia white rat serum.The purpose of this experiment was to determine the effect of various doses of soursop juice to decrease of LDL’s cholesterol levels in dyslipidemia white rat serum.This experiment used pre-test and post-test with control group design. Soursop juice doses used was at 0,9; 1,8 and 2,7 g / 200 g BW of white rat. The data were processed using descriptive and statistics by the Kolmogorov Smirnov Test, One Way ANOVA, Post Hoct Test and linear regression in SPSS 16.0 for Windows.The results of this experiment was the percentage decrease of LDL cholesterol levels in the white rat serum of various doses soursop juice, which is 0,9 g / 200 g BW of 46,19%, a dose of 1,8 g / 200 g BW of 52,30 % and a dose of 2,7 g / 200 g BW of 61,62%.There was the effect of various doses of soursop juice to decrease LDL’s cholesterol levels in dyslipidemia white rat serum. The greater the dose of soursop juice given, the greater the reduction in LDL’s cholesterol levels in the serum of dyslipidemia white rat.

Abstract

This background reviewed cases of diarrhea, one of health problems related to the digestive tract and caused by an imbalance in intestinal microflora. Probiotics are microorganisms that can be used to balance the intestinal microflora’s population. Prebiotics are nutrients required for the growth of good bacteria in human’s intestine. Kepok banana (Musa paradisiaca formatypica) that contains inulin and FOS is a natural source of prebiotics. The purpose of this study is to observe the effect of various concentrations of kepok banana flour (Musa paradisiaca formatypica) on the growth of probiotic bacterium Lactobacillus casei. In order to observe the prebiotic activity of Lactobacillus casei, post-test with control group design method is used toward the kepok banana flour. The amounts of kepok banana flour concentration used are varied, which are 2%, 4%, 6%, 8 %, and 10%. As much as 30 data was resulted from this research that was, later, descriptively analyzed with One-Way ANOVA test using SPSS 16.0 for Windows. The research’s finding shows the average numbers of bacterium Lactobacillus casei (the number of bacteria x 107CFU/ml) produced in the media with the addition of MPF’s concentrations of 2%, 4%, 6%, 8%, and 10% are, respectively, 29187,5 ; 42491,67 ; 52225 ; 89879,17 and 155108,33. This research also obtained a significance value of 0.000 of the One-way Anova test. The conclusion of this study is that there is an in vitro effect of adding various concentrations of kepok banana flour on the growth of probiotic bacterium Lactobacillus casei.

Abstract

Alfa mangostin, gamma-mangostin and xanthone group compounds are secondary metabolites contained in mangosteen (G. mangostana L.) which can be isolated from the fruit, bark, leaves and rind of mangosteen. All three compounds were shown to inhibit stronger against Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Alfa mangostin also active against Staphylococcus aureus and Enterococcus bacteria that are resistant to vancomisin and methicillin. Objective of this study to determine the antibacterial activity of methanol extract of mangosteen rind against Staphyllococcus aureus and Escherechia coli in vitro. Antibacterial activity test used is the diffusion wells and paper disc diffusion method. The test results obtained antibacterial activity of methanol extract of mangosteen rind can inhibit the growth of Staphyllococcus aureus at a concentration of 16%, but below its resistance zone diameter Cyprofloxacin. As against Escherichia coli, the methanol extract of mangosteen rind could not inhibit the growth of bacteria.

Abstract

Pemeriksaan laboratorium sangat diperlukan untuk membantu menegakkan diagnosa suatu penyakit dan memperoleh hasil pemeriksaan yang akurat. Pemeriksaan kadar kolesterol dapat membantu perubahan pola dan gaya hidup sehat, untuk menghindari makanan yang mengandung kolesterol tinggi berisiko meningkatkan kadar kolesterol darah. Pemeriksaan kadar kolesterol biasanya menggunakan sampel serum dan sampel plasma. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hasil pemeriksaan kadar kolesterol dan gambaran perbedaan hasil kadar kolesterol total metode CHOD-PAP dari sampel serum dan plasma EDTA. Jenis penelitian yang dilakukan adalah uji deskriptif disajikan dalam bentuk tabel untuk mengetahui selisih rata-rata kadar kolesterol total sampel serum dan plasma EDTA dan grafik untuk mengetahui yang lebih tinggi. Hasil uji deskriptif didapatkan kadar kolesterol total dengan rata – rata sampel serum 157,76 mg/dl, sedangkan pemeriksaan kadar kolesterol dengan rata – rata sampel plasma EDTA 153,71 mg/dl. Berdasarkan data penelitian analisa uji deskriptif dinyatakan perbedaan hasil pemeriksaan kadar kolesterol total antara sampel serum dan plasma EDTA yaitu 9,7 %.
