The Dinamika Teknik Mesin: Jurnal Keilmuan dan Terapan Teknik Mesin is aimed to desiminating and sharing the scientific research results, simulations, and computation to reseachers, students, and practitioners around the world. It is a peer-reviewed academic journal which publishes originally research papers and simulation/computational articles in all aspect of Mechanical Engineering such as energy conversion, materials, design and production/ manufacturing. The Dinamika Teknik Mesin publishes in two issues per volume annually appearing in June and December. However, due to administrative constraints, then starting in January 2018, the Dinamika Teknik Mesin publishes the volume and issue in January and July.

Abstract

Cow manure can be used as a source of energy and as a solid or liquid fertilizer. An adult cow can produce fases (solid manure) to 23 kg/day and urine (liquid manure) 9 kg/day. Three or four cow is capable to fullfill the dayly needs of cooking fuel for one rural household. Cow manure slurry can also be convert as fertilizer, that is liquid fertilizer which is derived from urine and solid fertilizer originating from the solids. Solid and liquid from cow manure is usually mixed, therefore to make the liquid and solid fertilizer, the liquid and solid masses need to be separated first. Recent separators of fases and urine are are electrical energy driven, so that those kind of device could not be used in the rural areas where the electric grid supply were not available. So that a model of a faces-urine separator of cow manure slurry is utilize which was constructed for manual pressing force. Moreover, through this research It have had created a manual fases-urine separator which only requires one operator. The separator consists of main parts including; lever press, chamber press, fases-urine separation mechanism, the mechanism of loading-unloading, and ajustment mechanism for pressing pressure. This design is capable of performing the separation in a wide range of pressing force and it only requires one operator. Results Show That the model is capable to separate liquid from the slurry as much as 13.9% at a pressing force of 14 kg the which is applied for 18 seconds.

Abstract

A runner deals with several forces during running in air medium. Aerodynamics is a branch of science which studies the object behavior in air flow. This research is aimed to visualized angle body inclination of a model runner as aerodynamics study. The research is done in wind tunnel. The model use is a puppet with 30 cm height. Visualization is done by smoke method and recorded with a camera. The data is analyzed to get the curve angle of fluid flow. The analysis is done by Microsoft Visio Professional 2002 SR-1. The result shows that model runner body inclination has effect due to aerodynamics aspect. The increase of inclination angle tends to increase the curve angle of fluid flow.

Abstract

The abundance of waste piston used so far has not been utilized properly. Users of this piston waste can be used as an oxy-acetylene welder filler. Las oxy-acetylene has been widely used for welding on various types of aluminum product repair, one of which is welding machine block. Machine blocks in their use often suffered damage to the cooling water circulation path and broken crack and broken. Welders and repair shops that repair these damages do not have standardized standards in the use of weld fillers, but they do filler selection based solely on experience including in determining the weld filler. The purpose of this research is to know the effect of piston waste which is used as raw material of weld filler to tensile strength and hardness of welded block result of machine using oxy-acetylene welding. Welding is done by an experienced welder. The welding results are tested for tensile strength and hardness distribution test. The welded joint with the chemical composition of filler which is almost equal to base metal has the highest tensile strength. The tensile strength of the welded joint tension test is in the weld metal region due to defects in the weld metal, especially the porosity defects that are formed during the welding process so that the tensile test loading is concentrated on the defect. While the highest hardness on the weld is in the filler metal with the highest percentage of Si content.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate of sound absorption of coconut filter fiber composites. The research material made with coconut filter fiber as reinforcement and matrix resin unsaturated polyester (UPRs) type Yukalac BQTN 157 with 1% hardener types MEKPO (Methyl Ethyl Ketone Peroxide) and fiber treatment by  0,5% KMnO4. Production methods is poltrusion and the variations of fiber volume fraction are 20, 25 and 30% and fiber length are 5, 10 and 15 mm. Testing of sound absorption frequency are 250, 500, 1000, 2000 and 4000 Hz. The results of research show that  the highest value of sound absorption coefficient is on  the composites with composition of 10 mm fiber length and 30% fiber volume fraction, that is 0.550828. The values are included in the class “Sound Absorption Coefficient Class D (Extremely absorbing)” with the range 0.40 – 0.60 based on ISO standard 11654:1997.

Abstract

Dalam penelitian ini dilakukan pengujian karakteristik viskositas kinematik, specific gravity, warna, kadar air dan volume hasil dari minyak pelumas hasil daur ulang untuk mengetahui variasi campuran optimal antara asam sulfat dengan tanah liat sebagai adsorben pada tahap clay treatment dan kemudian dibandingkan dengan lube base oil standar. Dari pengujian, menunjukkan bahwa campuran asam sulfat dan tanah liat terbukti efektif dalam memurnikan kembali minyak pelumas yang telah terkontaminasi (minyak pelumas bekas). Pada pengujian nilai viskositas kinematik yang mendekati dengan viskositas kinematik lube base oil diperoleh pada variasi campuran A10T400 dengan nilai 13.43 cSt, untuk Specific gravity yang mendekati dengan nilai lube base oil pada variasi campuran A10T300 dengan nilai 0.88983, untuk warna  didapatkan nilai L 4.1 pada variasi A15T500, kadar air terendah pada 0.000633 g/l pada variasi A5T500 dan volume hasil terbanyak didapatkan pada variasi campuran A10T300 yaitu 584.33 ml.

Abstract

This study is intended to analyze the feasibility operation KMP Roditha which owned by PT. ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Limited). Location of research in the trajectory Sheet - Padang Bai, was used the Break Even Point. Collecting a range of cost of KMP Rodita, therefore was known the operating costs, maintenance costs and income from the sale of tickets while one year. Stepsare used in this research is the analysis of quantitative data, where i would collect the data required in relation to the matter to be investigated, so that research results can be more reliable and credible. The results of this study indicate that KMP Roditha income in 2010 was Rp. 12,007,178,916, of a total of 504 trips. Break Even Point in 2010 occurred in the 5th month on 213 trips, so that KMP Roditha feasible to operate.

Abstract

Komposit merupakan suatu struktur material yang tersusun dari dua kombinasi atau lebih konstituen yang dikombinasikan secara makroskopik yang mana keduanya tidak saling melarutkan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui sifat kekuatan impact komposit sandwich plastik bekas diperkuat serat sisal dengan core bonggol jagung. Metodologi penelitian mengacu pada pengujian dilakukan yaitu  pengujian impact sesuai dengan standar ASTM D-5942 dengan impak Charpy yaitu dengan memvariasikan persentase volume serat sisal (5%, 10%,  15%, 20%, 25%, dan 30%) dan variasi arah serat sisal yaitu acak dan searah.Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa dan kekuatan impact komposit sandwich plastik bekas yang diperkuat serat sisal dengan core bonggol jagung cenderung mengalami peningkatan seiring dengan penambahan presentase serat. Kekuatan impact tertinggi pada fraksi volume serat sisal (30%) sebesar 0,0460 J/mm2­ dengan arah serat acak dan terendah pada variasi volume serat sisal (5%) dengan arah serat searah sebesar 0,019 J/mm2­. Rata-rata pada arah serat searah lebih besar dibandingkan dengan arah serat acak, sedangkan Rata-rata kekuatan impact  lebih besar pada arah serat acak dibandingan dengan arah serat searah.

Abstract

JIS steel SS 400 is one of the most common types of steel used for hot rolling steel structures general. This steel is excellented to the weldability and machinability properties. This study aimed to determine the effect of heat treatment with preheating without tempering (PTT), with preheating and tempering (PT), without preheating and without tempering (TPTT), and  without preheating tempering (TPT). The test results are then compared with the raw material specimens. Method of forming specimens using welding SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) DC reverse polarity using E7018 type electrode diameter of 4 mm. Type of seam used is V open seam with slit width and height of 2 mm and the width of the root angle 70o. This studied used a low alloy steel (JIS steel SS 400) which contain high levels of 0.20% C, maximum 0.005% S, maximum 0.005% P with repetitions each variation three times. Tests conducted it has testing the tensile strength, brinell hardness testing, and microstructure photo shoot. Value of the brinell hardness of welded joints highest in the tempering specimens without preheating, amounting with  163,911 HB hardness value. The structure of cementite and pearlite formed. While the lowest hardness values of specimens owned by raw material is 120,498 HB hardness values that form the microstructure of pearlite and ferrite.

Abstract

Composite has alone top to be compared with alternative's tech material any other as strong, demulcent, bate corrosion, economic etcetera.  The aim of this research is to investigate the influence of fiber length and fiber volume composition coconut frond to tensile strength step-up and toughness impact composite is coconut frond fiber with matrix resin   polyester   This research utilizes fiber length variation 2 cm, 4 cm, 6 cm and fiber volume variations 5%, 10%, 15%. composite lasing utilizes resin polyester  composite makings done at random with fiber compare and resin 100%. Fiber conduct is done with soak fiber up to 1 hour with NaOH solution as much 4%. composite makings process by method hand lay up  with emphasis manually utilize glass as printed as and depressing.   That result showed for fiber length 2 cm, 4 cm, and 6 cm gotten by supreme tensile strengths on long fiber 6 cm which is 27.5503216 N/mm2 and tensile strength is contemned available on fiber length 2 cm which is 16.80040936 N/mm2  and on fiber volume 5%,10%, and 15% supreme tensile strengths on volume fiber 15%, which is 28.49020468 N/mm2 and tensile strength is contemned available on volume 5%, which is 16.80040936 N/mm2. Toughness impact  supreme for fiber length 2 cm, 4 cm, and 6 cm happens on fiber length 2 cm with volume variation 10% which is 4087.5 Kj/m2 and on fiber volume 5%,10%, and 15% gotten by toughness impact  supreme available on volume 10% with longing fiber 6 cm which is, 4087. 5 Kj/m2
