Abstract

ABSTRACT The research aims to studies the use of a preservative solution of and to get composition a preservative solution of appropriate on the quality of cut flowers chrysanthemum. Research conducted at the laboratory of Plants Science, Faculty of Agriculture, Sam Ratulangi University Manado in Juni until July 2016. The experimental design used was a completely randomized design with five replications. The composition of preservative solution A: water 1000 ml; B: sugar 25 g/l + lime water 1 ml/l + chlorox 1 ml/l, C: sugar 50 g/l + lime water 2 ml/l + chlorox 1 ml/l, D: sugar 75 g/l + lime water 3 ml/l + chlorox 1 ml/l, E: sugar 100 g/l + lime water 4 ml/l + chlorox 1 ml/l, F: sugar 125 g/l + lime water 5 ml/l + chlorox 1 ml/l, G: sugar 150 g/l + lime water 6 ml/l + chlorox 1 ml/l. Observed variables were the total of absorbed solution, vaselife, when the flowers were wilt and flowers color. The results showed the tretment effect of the composition of preservative solutions give effect of the total absorbed solution 184,8 ml, 27,2 vaselife day period, when the flower were wilt 24,2 days and flowers color.  Keywords : cut flowers, chrisanthemum (Chrysanthemum Sp.), preservative solution, vaselife

Abstract

The research was aimed to study the physical and sensory characteristics of  bread made from composite flour of goroho flour, maize, and cassava starch.  This study used a factorial randomized design with two factors, i.e : the proportion of goroho flour (with or without skin) and formulation of composite flour (G) i.e : 300 g goroho plaint flour : 120 g corn starch : 60 g cassava starch, 300 g goroho plaint flour : 90 g corn starch : 90 g cassava starch, 300 g goroho plaint flour : 60 g corn starch : 120 g cassava starch. The parameters analyzed were ratio of rising, porosity, texture, acceptance value of colour, aroma, flavor, and texture. The results showed that the type of goroho flour had highly significant effect on ratio of rising, porosity, and the hedonic. Interaction of the two factors had highly significant effect on texture. Formulation of goroho flour with skin, corn starch, cassava starch (300 g : 90 g : 90 g) produced bread with the best quality.  Keyword : bread, composite flour, goroho flour

Abstract

ABSTRACT  The aim of this research was to study the production of Manado Kuning corn. With aplication of organic and inorganic fertilizers  and also to know the good fertilizers dosage the good production. The research was undertaken in Kalasey village, Minahasa regency from april to agust 2016. Research is organised use design random group. With five levels of fertilizers dosage.             ( P1 = inorganic fertilizers 300 Kg / Ha NPK and 300 Kg / Ha Urea,  P2 =  inorganic fertilizers 225 kg / Ha NPK and 225 Kg / Ha Urea + 7,5 ton / Ha Compost, P3= inorganic fertilizers 150 kg / Ha NPK and 150 kg/ Ha Urea + 10 Ton / Ha Compost, P4 = Inorganic fertilizers  75 Kg / Ha NPK and 75 Kg / Ha Urea + 12,5 Ton / Ha Compost, P5= Organic fertilizers 15 Ton / Ha Compost ) The result showed that P4 treatment ( 25 % Inorganic fertilizers  + 75 % organic fertilizers ) has the highest production compared with other treatment. The high production Manado Kuning corn obtained from treatment P4 (Inorganic fertilizers  75 Kg / Ha NPK and 75 Kg / Ha Urea + 12,5 Ton / Ha Compost) caused by availability adequate nutrient to support production. Deficient inorganic fertilizers can overcome by organic fertilizers, so organic fertilizers and inorganic fertlizers very good for in aply simultaneously. For increasing production Manado Kuning corn suggested to use fertilizing dosage 75 Kg / Ha NPK and 75 Kg / Ha Urea + 12,5 Ton / Ha Compost Keywords : Fertilizers organic and inorganic, Manado Kuning corn

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to determine how the impact media coconut powder combination of cow dung and sawdust combination of cow manure on a rhinoceros beetle (Oryctes rhinoceros) in the process of laying eggs to become larvae, the study was conducted on a coconut plantation village courts Subdistrict Mapanget Manado City. Research using randomized complete block design (RAK) with 6 treatments and 5 replicates, as the treatment is treatment A, 5 kg coconut powder mixed with 1 kg of cow dung, treatment B, 5 kg coconut powder mixed with 2 kg of cow dung, treatment C, 5 kg coconut powder mixed with 3 kg of cow dung, treatment D, 5 kg of sawdust mixed with 1 kg of cow dung, treatment E, 5 kg of sawdust mixed with 2 kg of cow dung, treatment F, 5 kg of sawdust mixed with 3kg dirt cow. This treatment can be seen from where the nesting media most preferred by pest O. rhinoceros in doing laying up into larvae.  The results showed that coconut powder media with a combination of cow dung is preferred by O. rhinoceros pests to multiply compared with sawdust with a combination of cow dung, larval populations obtained in the treatment of cow dung combination of coconut powder reached 2.98% (42 larvae) and the treatment of the combination of cow manure sawdust reached only 0.71% (no larval populations). Abstract

Tondano River is the outlet of Lake Tondano hold the important role for the community in the province of North Sulawesi. With the population growth, increasing the need of society to the river, so there are many problems, such as sedimentation. Sedimentation processes occur accompanied with the rise in erosion so there is more erosion discharge waste in the form of sediment contained in estuaries Tondano. The problem now is how the sediment which was originally a waste can be harnessed into something useful, which is used as a planting medium. This study aims to look at the response of composting hyacinth sediment Tondano Watershed indicators corn crop. Randomized Block Design, where as a control S0, S1 compost treated with 10 tons / ha, S2 compost treatment with 20 tons / ha, S3 compost treated with 30 tons / ha. This research was conducted in three groups in order to obtain 12 pot experiment. The observed variables plant height every week, every week the number of leaves, dry weight of plants after harvest. The results showed that giving the water hyacinth compost on Tondano River Sediments influenced on corn growth. The provision of water hyacinth compost with different doses affected the plant height, the number of leaves and dry weight.  Keywords: sediment, water hyacinth, compost

Abstract

ABSTRACT The aims of this study is to determine the shelf life and quality change i.e the wilting percentage of  chrysanthemum cut flowers, weight loss, changes in the diameter of the bud and color changes of the flower. This research use descriptive method. Before placing in the refrigerator pre-cooling has been done by dipping the flower stems into 3°C of ice water and held at the average temperature of 7,35°C. The results showed that the longest vase life of chrysanthemum cut flower is 41 days. The wilting reached 100% on 41th day. The average of weight loss percentage is 18,69%. The average of diameter change of flower buds reached the maximum on the 37th day. The color of petals change from white to brown.   Keywords: Pre-cooling, chrysanthemum cut flower, cold storage

Abstract

ABSTRACT  Characteristics of land consisting of soil characteristics, topography, climate and vegetation. This study aims to investigate the characteristics of climate and vegetation around the tourist sites Batu Dinding South Minahasa regency. This research uses descriptive quantitative method which consists of a field survey. Variable Climate observations comprise elements are rainfall and the state of vegetation. The results showed that the average monthly rainfall highest in January and December for the last 5 years from 2012 to 2016 with the tropical rainy climate that have monthly rainfall > 60 mm. The state of the vegetation around the site Batu Dinding has INP value is highest on the type of plant vegetation Coconut by 33.37%, which is the main constituent of plant communities in Batu Dinding.  Keywords: Characteristics of Land, Climate, Vegetation, Batu Dinding

Abstract

ABSTRACT  The purpose of this study was (1) to know the growth and production of local waxy corn on various dosage of NPK fertilizer ; (2) to obtain the proper dosage of fertilizer in growth and production of local waxy corn. This study was conducted in Insil village, Passi Timur District, Bolaang Mongondow Regency with attitude 1100 meters above sea lever, from June to August 2016. Using a Randomized Block Design with five treatments of NPK fertilizer dosage which are P0 = 0 kg ha-1 of NPK fertilizer  (as a control), P1 = 200 kg ha-1 of NPK fertilizer, P2 = 300 kg ha-1 of NPK fertilizer, P3 = 400 kg ha-1 of NPK fertilizer, and P4 = 500 kg ha-1 of NPK fertilizer. The results showed that treatmen of NPK fertilizer dosage only had effected on plant height of local waxy corn but had no effected on length of cob, diameter of cob, fresh weight of with corn husk and fresh weight of cob without cornhusk. Abstract

ABSTRACT Geographically, South Minahasa district lies between 1 ° 17'18.22 "north latitude and 124 ° 54'48.84" east longitude, with a total area is 1188.67 km2, or approximately 8% of the total area of North Sulawesi (15.069.00 km2 ), with the coast in the north and south and the high plains, where irrigated rice fields provide an abundant harvest. Nature and the weather in this area is suitable for agricultural. At almost all districts  various agricultural crops can grow. Rice cultivation is mostly irrigated, in addition there is still also a rainfed. Planting is done two to three timesa year  and sometimes rotated withother food  crops. Food crops cultivated by the inhabitants consist of rice, corn, potatoes, and other food crops as well as various other horticultural crops. Besides Rice, South Minahasa also produces maize and cassava in relatively large quantities. Thus, the food crop farmers in South Minahasa can choose from various types of crops that can be cultivated in their agricultural lands. This study was conducted in August until September 2016 in South Minahasa regency. Required data were collected using survey methods, and analyzed with linear programming method using  solver application in Microsoft excel. Based on the research results, if the labor supply increased by 2 per family farmers and harvesting is done by machines  the farmer income per year increased from Rp 720 million, - to Rp 1.84 billion, - obtained from the cropping pattern of 15 hectares rice and 10 hectares corn for Musafir 4 farmer groups. the same goes for the Torout Jaya farmer groups, revenue per year increased from Rp 582 million, - to Rp 2.3241 billion, - which is obtained from the cropping pattern 17 hectares of rice and 20 hectares of soybeans.  Keywords : Optimization Farming, Linear Programming, Solver

Abstract

ABSTRACTOne effort to improve food security, namely through the product development process that does not depend on the type of material, but by utilizing local material sources. Purse can be processed into flour for having carbohydrate, protein, fat, with huge potential to be developed and processed into various products sala sole bread. The bread is usually made of wheat flour because it contains gluten. In the purse flour has no gluten so it is used as a substitute. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of starch concentration purse on the level of development, porosity and quality of the bread and analyze the level of consumer acceptance and chemical analyzes of bread flour purse.This study uses a completely randomized design (CRD). each treatment was performed 3 (three) times repetition with variation flour purse 0% (control), 30%, 50%, 70%, in each treatment and observation of the level of development, porosity, water content, ash content, protein, fats, carbohydrates, and organoleptic test of the level of preference. Results showed the sample A with concentration (Flour 70%: 30% flour purse) has a level of development 2,8cm, porosity 31, the water content of 31.85%, ash content of 1.26%, 4.39% fat content, content 7.02% protein, and carbohydrate content of 54.57% and the highest color organoleptic value of 3.55, 3.50 odor, flavor and texture 3.50 3.40 most preferred panelists. Flour substitution berpengaru purse in high concentrations significantly affected the level of development, the porosity, the quality of bread and panelist preference level, while on the chemical analysis of water content, fat, protein, and carbohydrate, ash content decreases and increases.Keywords: Bread, Gluten, Wheat purse, Wheat Flour.
