Abstract

ABSTRACTLand use without regard to its ability to cause a decrease in the quality of the land, land degradation because they will affect the potential of land. Determine land capability class is expected that the potential of land owned by the obvious. This study aims to assess the potential of rural land capability classes based Kahuku. Research results showed that land potentially useful views of the class abilities gained in the research area of land where two six-unit class III land units with an area of 8.5 ha and a four unit class IV land with total area of 67.35 hectares.Key words : Potential Land, Capability Land

Abstract

ABSTRAKTujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menentukan mutu fisik yang meliputi keadaan bau, warna dan rasa serta mutu kimia yang meliputi komposisi asam-asam lemak, kadar air, FFA dan bilangan peroksida virgin coconut cooking oil (VCCO) hasil pemanfaatan limbah VCO (ampas kelapa) dari varietas kelapa Dalam Mapanget, kelapa Dalam Tenga, kelapa Hibrida KB-3 dan kelapa Kenari. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan informasi tentang mutu fisik dan kimia VCCO serta dapat memberikan nilai tambah bagi limbah ampas kelapa sebelum dijadikan pakan ternak atau dibuang. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif mutu fisik dan kimia VCCO dari keempat varietas kelapa diatas terhadap SNI 01-3741-2002 tentang standar mutu minyak goreng. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa mutu fisik meliputi warna, bau dan rasa dari VCCO yang dihasilkan dari beberapa varietas kelapa (ampas kelapa) memenuhi SNI 01-3741-2002 tentang minyak goreng yaitu normal untuk bau dan rasa serta berwarna putih hingga kuning pucat. Mutu kimia VCCO dari keempat varietas kelapa (ampas kelapa) memiliki komposisi asam lemak yang didominasi asam laurat antara 42.16% – 47.39%, kadar air antara 0.19% – 0.27%, asam lemak bebas (FFA) antara 0.19%– 0.30% dan Bilangan Peroksida 0.20 mg ek/kg – 1.80 mg ek/kg. Dengan demikian memenuhi standar mutu yang disyaratkan dalam SNI 01.3741-2002 tentang minyak goreng sehingga dapat dinyatakan baik dan layak diterima.Kata Kunci : kelapa, minyak kelapa, limbah VCO (ampas kelapa)

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe objective of this research is to analyze the industry prospect of processing fried banana in Manado City by taking samples in the research region : Klabat Stadium and Malalayang Beach. Forty respondents were interviewed as representatives to the amount of consumer in Manado.This research was carried out at Klabat Stadium and Malalayang Beach from each location, two sellers were taken as samples start from September to October 2012. This research used primary and secondary data. Primary data were through directly interviewed with the owner and the employees of the sampel location and the forty respondents as the population of fried banana lovers. Secondary data taken through the literatures and institutions related with this reacerch. Analyzes data was showed in tables form.This research result showed that industry of processing fried banana in Manado City has a good prospect because it gained profit. Revenue Cost Ratio that obtained from each location is bigger than others. In condition like this business of fried banana deserves is feasible. Besides the profit sellers would obtain the opportunity doing this business is high because there are many consumers of this product in Manado City. Through this research we can see that there 234 sellers have the opportunity to start open business of fried banana.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research aims to study response of sweet corn plants (Zea mays saccharata L.) that were fertilized with organic fertilizer. The research was implemented in green house of Agriculture Faculty, Sam Ratulangi University of Manado, on July to November 2012. The result of research as follow : Height of plants on D treatment (15 tons of stable fertilizer per hectare + 750 kilograms of granul organic fertilizer per hectare) gave best respons, Number of leaves on C treatment (15 tons of stable fertilizer per hectare + 500 kilograms of granul organic fertilizer per hectare ) and D treatment ( 15 tons of stable fertilizer per hectare + 750 kilograms of granul organic fertilizer per hectare) gave best response. Result of sweet corn that were measured by length, diameter and weight of corn cob on B treatment (anorganic fertilizer of N, P and K with recommended doses N 300 kg per hectare, P 150 per hectare, P 150 kg per hectare, and K 150 kg per hectare) gave best response. Abstract

ABSTRACTGoroho banana (Musa acuminate) is one type of banana plants that grow in North Sulawesi province and has a high nutrient content. Analog Rice is one of the solutions can be developed either in terms of the use of a new food source or to diversify food. The research objective is to get the right formulas of CMC in the manufacture of analog rice flour goroho . second stage of rice manufacturing are analog to the treatment CMC concentration subsitution. Organoleptic test results, treatment was continued with an analysis of selected physical properties. The results for the goroho banana flour yield of 40.10% and the color value of L (+) banana flour goroho : 80.33. For cooked rice analog lowest hardness level in treatment E = (98.4% banana flour goroho : 1.6% CMC) : 0.48 mm/g/sec and the chosen treatment CMC formula that treatment B = (99.6% flour banana goroho : 0.4% CMC). With the analysis of physical properties that yield: 23.18%, rice color : L (+)32.19, a*(+)5.92, b*(+)12.96, 221.729% water absorption, and time rehydration 20 minutes.Keywords: Banana goroho, analog rice, CMC.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis research aims to produce biscuits toddler with the addition of carrot pulp concentration that can be accepted by panelists from both physical and chemical properties. This research using completely randomized design with treatment mocaf flour mixture and pureed carrots. Treatment A=(85% MOCAF flour: 15% carrot pulp), B=(80% MOCAF flour: 20% carrot pulp) C=(75% MOCAF flour: 25% carrot pulp) D=( 70% MOCAF flour: 30% carrot pulp) E= (65% MOCAF flour: 35% carrot pulp). The chosen of produced by sensory, is going with the analysis of sensory physical and chemical . the chosen of toddler biscuitsis the treatment E=(65% MOCAF flour: 35% carrot pulp). results of the analysis of physical and chemical biscuits toddlers is content of chemicals are activity water 5.25%, ash 2,60%, fat 25,65%, protein 8.83%, dietry fiber 0.18% and karbohidrat 57,48. For component of Vitamin A is 1607.5 IU and energy total is 496,09 Kkal.Keywords: biscuits, MOCAF, carrot

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe main problem in the post-harvest handling of paddy that often facing by the farmers is the high value of looses during post harvest. The looses occur when the paddy grains scattered during harvest or post harvest handling. This study aimed to calculate the losses of paddy grains during drying and milling in Minahasa Region. The research was conducted in Karondoran village, the east part of Langowan, Tolok village of Tompaso and in the Post Harvest Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Sam Ratulangi University for 3 months. The drying looses was determined by the weight and the moisture content of the paddy samples before and after the drying process. While the looses during milling was determined by comparing the rendemen of millling and the milling yield generated in the laboratory. The result indicated that the average looses of drying in Minahasa was 2,19% while the average looses of milling in Minahasa was 2,12%.Keywords : drying, milling, looses

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian bertujuan untuk menentukkan kelas kemampuan lahan di Kecamatan Lolak Kabupaten Bolaang Mongondow. Penelitian dilaksanakan dengan metode survei. Penilaian klasifikasi kemampuan lahan berdasarkan metode USDA dan pembuatan peta klasifikasi kemampuan lahan dengan metode overlay (geoprocessing) dengan menggunakan Sistem Informasi Geografis (SIG). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa di daerah penelitian terdapat empat kelas kemampuan lahan yaitu kelas III, IV, VI dan VII dengan luas masing – masing sebagai berikut kelas III dengan luas 8347,72 hektar, kelas IV dengan luas 548,32 hektar, kelas VI dengan luas 8987,45 hektar dan kelas VII dengan luas 30039,19 hektar. Kemiringan lereng dan permeabilitas merupakan faktor pembatas utama dalam kelas kemampuan lahan di daerah penelitian.Kata kunci : Peta Kelas Kemampuan Lahan, Kecamatan Lolak, Klasifikasi Kemampuan Lahan menggunakan Sistem Informasi Geografis

Abstract

AbstractWori districts which has an area of 90.704 km2 is one of North Minahasa district that processed into oil palm plantations, coconut flour, nata de coco, coconut shell charcoal and coconut trees. Coconut flour is one of the oil derivative products (integrated coconut) recorded the many buyers and scattered in almost all parts of the world. Buyers of coconut flour was more focused on Eastern Europe, but is now rapidly spreading evenly over all the continents in the world. Anticipate in terms of availability of coconut flour it is necessary to the development of the coconut crop, given the current availability of old coconuts began to decrease. This study aims to determine the potential of land for coconut (Cocos nucifera L) in District Wori North Minahasa regency. This research can provide input and information to the government and the people of North Minahasa district Wori in coconut planting efforts. The research was conducted in the District of North Minahasa regency Wori, and in Laboratory Soil Department of Faculty of Agriculture, University of Sam Ratulangi Manado. This study was conducted in July 2009 and September 2011. Research methods implemented by way of a survey method with land unit approach, the observed variable is the slope, effective depth, texture, erosion, drainage, soil type and land use. The data were then arranged in tabular form later described descriptive to determine appropriate land or potentially and inappropriate or potentially for coconut by coconut trees growing conditions The results showed that in the region have Wori climate types B1, namely: 7-9 wet months and <2 dry months. Wori altitude region is 0-610 meters above sea level with the form region is rather flat, undulating to mountainous. Slopes in the study area is dominated by slopes <15%. Wori soil characteristics in the area, where the physical and chemical properties of the soil, namely: effective depth, texture and drainage and soil pH, indicating that the soil in the area has the potential to Wori Based on comparison of coconut and palm trees growing conditions with the conditions of the study area Wori region potential for development of coconut plantations with a total area of 4637.80 ha

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis study aims to determine the insect pest population C. formicarius at different altitude. The experiment was conducted in several sweet potato plants centers in the Sinisir Village District of Modoinding South Minahasa Regency, Woloan Village 1 District of Central Tomohon, City of Tomohon, and Sumarayar Village District of Langowan Minahasa regency. The study was conducted from June to December 2012. The things that observed in this study were the number of larvae founded in sweet potato tubers are attacked by pests C. formicarius.The results showed that the average population of the pest C. highest formicarius found sequentially in the Village Sinisir, Sumarayar and Woloan 1, ie 23.0%, 10.0% and 6.8%. Chi-square analysis results as indicating a relationship between altitude and pest population C. formicarius. This is indicated by the value of its asymp sig 0.521 greater than 0.05.Keyword: Cylas formicarius F., Ipomea batatas L. Ubi Jalar, Desa Sinisir, Desa Sumarayar dan Desa Woloan 1
