Abstract

ABSTRACT The objective of this research is to map the potential of wetland in Ratahan District by using Geographic Information System. This research used Information System uses descriptive method that consists of survey in field and the overlay of map. This research implemented in the Ratahan District used Citra satellite and physical observations in the field to see the areas that have the potential in wetland with the help of a 5 point coordinate. Mapmaking conducted at the Laboratory of Remote Sensing and GIS Soil Department, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Sam Ratulangi for two months (February-March) The potential of wetland in Ratahan District covering 6216.73 ha comprising: The potential of wetland on the slope of 0-8% covering an area of 5,850 ha, which is in the conversion of land use people's plantation area of 4467.00 ha, shrubs covering 448.00 ha, moor area of 444.00 ha and use of wetland is currently an area of 451.00 ha. The potential spread of paddy fields in Maulit village, Poniki village, Rasi village, Wioi village, Ratahan village, Pangu village, Tosiraya village, Vice Mayor village and Vice Mayor Pasan village. The potential of wetland at slope > 8% area of 366.73 ha is in the conversion of land use people's plantation area of 191.81 ha and use of wetland currently 174.92 ha. The potential of wetland in Kalatin spread in the village, and Lowu village. Keywords: Wetland, Geographic Information System.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang dan membuat kompor biomassa, serta mengkaji proses pembakaran dengan bahan bakar kayu (cengkeh) dan pindah panas pada kompor biomassa. Analisis dilakukan terhadap suhu nyala api, suhu dinding kompor,suhu dinding luar panci, suhu dinding dalam panci, suhu air dan lamanya pemasakan air. Perhitungan yang dilakukan meliputi energi panas yang terkandung dalam bahan bakar yang digunakan dan energi panas yang digunakan, serta efisiensi pemanasan air. Penelitian ini dilakukan awal bulan Juli sampai awal September 2014 di Bengkel Keteknikan Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Sam Ratulangi Manado. Kajian proses pembakaran ini menggunakan 3 perlakuan yang dianggap taraf yang diambil dari berat bahan bakar yang digunakan yaitu jumlah bahan bakar 500 g, 750 g,  dan 1000 g. Data hasil penelitian dicatat dan dihitung kemudian disusun dalam bentuk tabelaris lalu digambarkan dalam bentuk grafik.  Analisis yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini ialah deskriptif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kompor biomassa yang mengunakan bahan bakar kayu sebagai sumber energi dapat memenuhi kebutuhan kelangsungan hidup rumah tangga dalam masak-memasak.  Kata Kunci: Kompor biomassa, bahan bakar kayu cengkeh, efisiensi pemanasan air

Abstract

Abstract This study aims to determine the drying characteristics of nutmeg which includes changes in temperature, relative humidity, drying rate against time, and the drying rate of the levels is carried out in the county air. This research was conducted in North Halmahera, Galela District. Measurements were conducted at the Laboratory of Postharvest Department of Agricultural Technology Unsrat. When the study that began in August 2013 until the end of October 2013. This research was conducted by using descriptive method, the data of the observations are arranged in the form of tabelaris, later depicted in graphic form and then discussed. Materials used in this study is the nutmeg that has been issued fulinya then spread out on a sack the size 6x8 meters, time of harvest between 6-7 months after flowering, nutmeg is blackish brown. Ambient temperature began to rise at 09:00 and decreased disore day. The highest temperature at 11:00 am with an average of 30.6 ° C. Temperature of the material increased as well and reached its peak at 14:00 then down disore day. Similarly mat temperature peaked at 13:00 is 57.5 ° C. Keywords: Nutmeg Seed Drying Characteristics

Abstract

ABSTRACT Sago baruk flour and yellow sweet potato are commodities of highly potential to be developed for the making of food product find rolled spongecake. This research is aimed to define the proper formula, to implement the proximate analysis and to calculate the calorie value of the rolled spongecake from the mixture of sago flour and yellow sweet potato that impressed the panelists. This research uses the Complete Randomized Design method by treating the sago flour and yellow sweet potato. The result organoleptic test: the chosen treatment is followed by chemical quality analysis. The chosen treatment is E = (30% of sago flour :  70% yellow sweet potato). The result of chemical analysis of the chosen rolled spongecake: chemical composition are 10,75% water, 1,70% ash, 20,84% protein, 7,33% protein, and 59,40% total carbohydrate. Abstract

ABSTRACT  Food diversification is necessary of food development, and breadfruit is able to develop into a variety of food products. Breadfruit contains pretty high carbohydrate that 28.2gr/100gr mature flesh (Fao, 1972 in Gardjito etc 2013), which is very potential to be develop as an alternative to wheat flour in making of varieties of noodle such as fresh noodle. The aim of this research is to get the right formulation of breadfruit flour and pumpkin flour in making of wet noodle, and also to analyze the physical, chemical and sensory quality. The result of this research showed that the best and the dominant formulation is the formula C (80% breadfruit flour and 20% pumpkin flour) which is the most likeable formula. Formula C (80% breadfruit flour and 20% pumpkin flour) contains 25.19% of moisture content, 5,87% of proteins, 0.72% of ash, 32.33 sec of cooking time, 34.67 mins of cooking resistant. The sensory test’s of formula C showed that formula C is acceptable in panelists with scores; 3.46 of color, 3.42 of aroma and 4.08 of taste.  Keyword : Breadfruit, Pumpkin, Noodle

Abstract

ABSTRACT The most of natural Indonesia area is dominated by water teritorial which consist of thousands of island with souronded by mangrove. Functions and benefits of mangroves have been widely known, both as a place of spawning fish in the waters, land protector of abrasion due to waves, winds from the mainland protector, filter sea water intrusion inland and content of heavy metals that are harmful to life, a haven of migratory birds, and as wildlife habitat and other direct benefits for humans. The purpose of this research is aimed to analyze the structure and composition of mangrove vegetation found in the District Likupang, North Minahasa Regency, North Sulawesi. This research was conducted using the transect method and terraced path, by surveying observations and direct measurements in the field and then analyzed descriptively. The collected data are presented in tables and graphs. The results showed that the structure of mangrove forests Likupang for seedling phase dominated by Sonneratia sp, for the sapling phase is dominated by Avicennia alba and to phase dominated by Sonneratia sp while for there phase dominated by Sonneratia sp and mangrove forest composition Likupang are dominated by Sonneratia sp followed by the type Rhizopora sp., and Bruguera sp.  Key words: Forest Mangrove, Mangrove types, structure and composition of the Mangrove

Abstract

ABSTRACT  Limited Production Forest (HPT) Ake Oba - Tanjung Wayamli -Ake Kobe with an area reaching 151.603 ha. This area is divided into several districts / cities, one of which is the City of Tidore Islands with an area of about 26.707,5 ha. Collecting data in the field by the method of sample plots with a size of 100 mx 100 m with a total area of field observation area of 3 ha. From the data processing on field observation plots are 52 type of scientific names with 61 types based on local names with the number of individual trees of 678 individuals (including the level of seedlings, saplings, poles and trees). The most dominant type is the type of Hiru (Vatica papuana Dyer) as many as 102 individuals, K. Iron (Intsia bijuga O.Kt.Ze) as many as 70 individuals, Kora (Anisoptera polyandra Bl.) By 51 individuals, caplong (Calophyllum sp.) Abstract

ABSTRACT The research aims to determine the population and attacks Cnaphalocrocis medinalis on paddy rice vegetative phase in District East Dumoga, Bolaang Mongondow. Results are expected to be used as consideration in the preparation of pest control strategies C. medinalis on rice crops in the future. Research using survey method in several centers of rice cultivation in the district of East Dumoga Bolaang Mongondow, then set the 3 villages as research locations or as a sampling. Location criteria based on the presence of the rice research under the age of one week. Sampling using Method Diagonal slices and set up five sub-plot. Observations population conducted by randomly selecting ten clump of rice plants in each sub-plot. C. medinalis larvae contained in the leaf roll is taken, and then collected in a bottle containing 70% alcohol. Samples are labeled according to location and time of uptake, later identified in the Laboratory of Entomology and Pest Plants, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Sam Ratulangi. Observations percentage of attacks carried out by observing each of the 200 plants per sub-plot. Clumps were attacked recorded and calculated to determine the percentage of C. medinalis attack. Sampling was performed four times at intervals of two weeks. The results showed that the population of pests C. medinalis varies at different locations and the highest research found in two locations in the village Dumoga which reached an average of 15.33 tail, then in the village Dumoga Three reached an average of 13.66 tail and in the village of Dumoga Four reached an average of 5.33 birds. Observations highest percentage of attacks was found in the village of Dumoga Two sample sites, reaching 10.54%, then the village of Three Dumoga 9.95% and the lowest is Village Dumoga Four reached 1.53%.  Keywords : Cnaphalocrosis medinalis, percentage of attacks and populations

Abstract

ABSTRACT  Has conducted research that aims to describe the Kasawari community perception of the policy management of Batuangus Nature and Tourism Park. Research conducted at the Kasawari Village, Aertembaga District, Bitung City, Province of North Sulawesi. Research conducted by interview using the questionnaire at 73 respondents, and then grouped the data obtained, interpreted and studied descriptively. Results of the study is that Kasawari people know of the existence of  Batuangus Nature and Tourism Park but perceive it as a protected forest that has not been beneficial. Communities know that there is a regulation and legislation and community forestry agree with the prohibitions and sanctions contained therein. Public perception related to the preservation of Batuangus Nature and Tourism Park tends to favor the management policy. Public perception of community empowerment as an activity that is positive but need to consider the types of assistance that can support the majority of community work. In addition, the public perceives well too for extension activities. The Identity of management institutions not so well known by the public, according to the public perception that all of government agencies on duty in the forestry sector is the manager of Batuangus Nature and Tourism Park. There are two (2) main hope related people management policies Batuangus Nature Park namely the availability of water and the positive impact of the optimization function of Batuangus Nature and Tourism Park.    Keywords : perception, policy, Batuangus NTP

Abstract

ABSTRACT Marawas is one of the most important watershed in  Tondano watershed in Minahasa. The erosion that happens at  Marawas watershed caused by land change and human activity. This study helps us to analyze the erosion risk levels  in  Marawas watershed. Field survey was to document land cover, slope length, slope depth. The erosion risk Level were determined by USLE (R,K,L,S,CP). The study shows that the erosion risk levels of Marawas watershed are very light (62.5924 ha, 51,09%), light (0.7397 ha, 0,6%), middle (0.7397 ha, 0,6%), heavy (0 ha 0%) and very heavy (0,2792 ha, 0,23%). Marawas watershed hasthe average of erosion’s rate of 49.45 tonnes/ha/year or light level of Light erosion risk.
