Abstract

ABSTRACT OPTIMIZATION ALLOCATION OF FOREST LAND FARMER HOUSEHOLDS IN THE VILLAGE OF WONGKAI THE SOUTHEAST MINAHASA  The objective of research is the description the planting patterns of community forests and to analysis planting patterns that produce highest income for the haousehold income in the Wongkai based on farm area.  The research was conducted in June 2015. The methods used in this research was survey and purposive sampling.  The descriptive method is used is explained technical aspects planting patterns; where as linear program was used to determine planting patterns that produce highest income.  Results showed that farmer’s implemented monoculture and mixed planting patterns.  For the more linear program analysis showed that highest income was shown by mahogany planting in 0.11  area, champaca in 3 ha area, nantu in 3,12 ha area, teak in 1 ha area and clove in 1.67 ha area with the highest household income as much Rp. 196, 641 million per year.  Keywords: Community Forest, Linear Programming, Village Wongkai

Abstract

ABSTRACT The problems of the reseach are how the description and comparison of the inflation rate in the city of Manado and rural areas in North Sulawesi, and how the influence of the inflation rate of each expenditure to the general inflation rate in the city and rural areas. The research was conducted in the city of Manado North Sulawesi for 3 (three) months. The data used is inflation data from January 2009 to December 2014, which analyzed qualitative, and quantitative descriptive in the statistical analysis using different test average analysis and multiple linear regression. The results showed that the average inflation rate for rural areas is relatively high compared with urban areas. seven groups of grouping expenditure in the inflation calculation period 2009-2014 showed that there are four groups that the inflation average rate is higher in cities than in rural, which includes foodstuffs, housing, electricity, gas and fuel; education, recreation and sports; and group transport, communications and financial services. The rest, three other groups show the average inflation rate in the city is lower than in rural areas, which include: food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco; clothing; and health groups. The inflation rate in the city of Manado produce the same patterns with the rate of inflation in the rural areas. The rate of general inflation both in the city of Manado and rural areas is strongly influenced by the inflation rate of seven groups of expenditure for goods and services which consist of foodstuffs, food, clothing, housing, health, education and transport. Abstract

ABSTRACT The objective of this study were to obtain the appropriate packaging and storage temperature in extending the shelf life of cabbage and also to calculate weight loss and physical changes of cabbage (texture, color and the rate of CO2 production) during storage in the plastic packaging.  The results showed that the cabbage stored at the temperature range from  5-10 °C using stretch film packaging gave the lowest shrinkage of 1.59% after being stored for 20 days.  The cabbage packed with stretch film delivered the lowest production rate of CO2 that is 36.14 mg / jam.kg on the 1st day with a hardness value of cabbage at the top of  0.061 mm/g and at the base of  0.063 mm/g,  and production rate of CO2 of  55.53 mg/jam.kg were obtained on the 20th day with the hardness at the top of the cabbage of 0.063 mm/g and at the base of  0.065 mm/g with the brightness level of  80.78 namely color level is white.  Keywords: Cabbage, Packaging, Storage, Quality Change

Abstract

ABSTRACT EVALUATION OF PLANT FUNCTIONAL ASPECT AT SAM RATULANGI UNIVERSITY ROADSIDE LANDSCAPE   Plant is one of the elements that play a role in shaping the roadside landscape. The aim of this study was to evaluate aspects of the functioning of plants in the landscape of the campus of the University of Sam Ratulangi and make recommendations on the selection and arrangement of functional plants. The experiment was conducted from April to November 2015 along the roadside of the University of Sam Ratulangi.      This is a descriptive study, data collection is collect by survey method. Location of the study were divided into 4 groups of locations: Main Street, East Zone, West Zone and South Zone. Plant function evaluated is the advisory function, limiting, shade, wind control, noise control, light control, pollution control, and conservation. Each group location rated based on the percentage criterion crop function and translated into the category of excellent, good, average, and poor.      Results of the evaluation showed excellent categories are on main street group location, good categories located in east zone and west zone group’s location, and poor categories located in South Zone group location. Function of plants on the landscape the way the campus can be improved by increasing the number of trees and shrubs that has a dense leaves and planted with a tightly spacing. The selection of plants should consider the composition of the existing planting, plant function requirements, and compliance with the physical and environmental conditions of the road. . Abstract

ABSTRACT  This research studies the effects of compost fertilizer on the growth of red jabon (Anthocepalus macrophyllus) seedling. The method used is completely randomized design, with 5 treatments and 5 replications. No (zero) compost was applied on treatment A as a control, 25 grams of compost on treatment B, 50 grams of compost on treatment C, 75 grams of compost on treatment D, and 100 grams of compost on treatment E. Based on recommendation, growth media used in this research was a mix of soil and sand, with a ratio of 3:2. Variables observed were increase in plant height, increase in stem diameter, increase in number of leaves, and the dry weight of shoot. Results showed that the application of compost fertilizer to red jabon seedling made significant differences in the increase of plant height and stem diameter. Key words: red jabon seedling (Anthocephalus macrophyllus) compost fertilizer  zeorganik

Abstract

ABSTRACT Rotate overlap is a system of farming for a year or more consisting of several times planting one or several types of crops in rotation . This study aims to determine the magnitude of Rice and Tomato farm income as a plant overlapping shifts during one year . There are many combinations of plants that are cultivated farmers within one year of production , and kombinassi - combination of these plants generally always be replaced in each year . Production depends on weather conditions and market demand . The benefits of this research as information for researchers , and as fill material for the extension agencies concerned and the parties need .

Abstract

ABSTRACT Talawaan dam, North Minahasa Regenc that was built in 1912, was planned to irrigate 1037 ha paddy field covering five villages, i.e. “Desa Kolongan”, “Desa Talawaan”, “Desa Tumbohon”, “Desa Winetin”. The objective of this research was to inform the physical condition of irrigation network system in Talawaan Dam. This research was conduced from November 2014 - Februari 2015 (4 Months). The data was collected usong survey method, float measurements. The result showed that the irrigation network system in this dam was not appropriate with the planned scheme based on the number of (water structures) and irrigated field area. In addition, there was water loss because of overflowing and leakage in the irrigation network.   Keywords :Talawaan Dam , Irrigation

Abstract

ABSTRACT  This study aimed to analyze whether the population, agricultural land area and economic growth affected the inequality of income distribution in North Sulawesi.  Results of themultiple linear regression analysis gave the coefficient of determination (R2) of 92.3 %.  which included population, land area of agriculture and economic growth as independent variables.  Furthermore, from the three independent variables, only population and economic growth gave significant effect to the Gini Ratio. Judging from the direction of the impact, an increase in economic growth would lower the Gini Ratio, while an increase in the population would also increase the Gini Ratio inNorth Sulawesi. keywords : Income Distribution

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to analyze the income of fishermen in the village Buhias well as the extent of inequality of income distribution fisherman research area. This study uses primary data in the form of data obtained from the distribution of questionnaires. Sampling method performed by the method of proportional allocation ( Proportional Allocation Method) . The analytical method used is the analysis of income, an indicator of the level of inequality based on the Gini Ratio fitted with Lorenz curve and the World Bank criteria . The results showed that the income of fishermen in the village sample Buhias bervareasi enough and tend to be different . The level of income inequality based on the Gini Ratio fishermen for 0.531 were in the high category , while according to the World Bank are in the medium category .
