Abstract

Tofu industry dominates by small-scale business with traditional production methods. On the other hand, demand for tofu products is quite high, and it is needed to increase tofu production. This study discusses the making of hygiene tofu maker tools able to simplify the production process. Based on the results of interviews with three tofu home industries in Cikarang, Bekasi, 17 request attributes of making an assistive tool obtain. Based on this, four technical responses were collected and will be developed become four concept designs. After conducting concept selection, it is determined to plan for making a tool which can simplify the process of making tofu. That is, starting from the manufacturing process, which starts from the pulp to the process of making tofu, can be put together into one manufacture of the tool. Thus, designing this tool can integrate the six stages of the tofu production process.

Abstract

This research have objective to determine the application of procedures, mismatches work processes and maintenance of machinery repair and analyze the causes of motor engine damage in the PDAM Tirta Pakuan Bogor City. The data used in this research are primary and secondary data. Primary data obtained through observations and interviews to the parties concerned in the mechanical and electrical parts. Secondary data in the form of data SOP maintenance and repair machine from company. Descriptive, comprative, and evaluative methods are used to analyze the actual condition and working procedures of maintenance and repair of machinery and to compare between the results obtained from this research on the implementation of the maintenance work process and the repair of machines there are still stages that are not executed according to the procedure. Using the Fishbone Diagram method, the most dominant type of damage occurring in the motorizer engine is a burning roll with a contribution rate of 53.125%. Using Pareto Diagram, this analysis can provide information for the company to pay more attention to the maintenance and repair activities of the machine so that the work process activities in the mechanical and electrical section run well and smoothly.

Abstract

Every company tries to minimize the cost of production to get the product with the price of flocking. A Chemical Company in Cilegon has a production cost reduction program. However, in the process of creation, still found some factors that cause high production costs, especially the cost of electricity in pumping equipment. This study aims to determine the causes of high electricity consumption in the drainage pump unit, provide suggestions for improvement and evaluate the results of revision. This research uses some new quality tools consisting of affinity diagrams, interrelationship diagrams, matrix diagrams, tree diagrams, and Process Decision Program Chart (PDPC). Based on the results of the research, the factors causing high electricity consumption in the drainage pump unit are DCS-Man forgot to stop at the G-1875 pump, the C-1851 sealing output goes to the slimy pit, and the G-1871 sealing output goes into the dirty hole. The remedial step is to move the C-1851 sealing output from the muddy ditch to the clean trench, moving the G-1871 sealing output from the filthy ditch to the clean ditch, fixing the leak in the sample product box, and the G-1875 pump made auto start-stop. These drainage improvements resulted in drainage units operating two times per week from the previous 18 times per week or decreased by 89% and can save as much as Rp 1,677,205 per year.

Abstract

Many consequences caused by the condition of the work environment is not good. This can be caused by noise, lighting and temperature conditions. We need to determine the optimal value of these work environment factors in order to improve operator performance. The correlation between operator performance with work environment factor such as noise, lighting and temperature are found out by develope empirical model to describe relation between operator performance with work environment factor. The model is used to optimize operator performance. This research use surface response method. The experimental design used a central composite design. The research was conducted by experiments in the Laboratory of Analysis of Work Design and Ergonomics of Islamic University of Indonesia Yogyakarta. Variables taken are noise, lighting and temperature. Range for noise is 40 dB to 75 dB, lighting 200 lux to 700 lux, and temperatures between 20C to 35C. The experiment carried out was the resistor color matching for 5 minutes according to the combination of research variables that have been determined in the surface response method. Output is the number of truths that occur. Using this optimization model, optimal working environment conditions for noise of 60.5 dB, 354.5 lux illumination and temperature of 25.8.

Abstract

The problem in this research is the use of liquid containers, which use as bulk cosmetic containers, which will be move from the WIP room to the product packaging room. Based on these transfer activities, there was a risk of exposure to Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs), which were analyzed using Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA) and Washington State Checklist (WSC). This study aims to design a tool for a more ergonomic liquid container to reduce the impact of MSDs on workers. Redesigning this tool uses the concept of Reverse Engineering. The design of the new liquid container transporter simulation can reduce REBA score with a WSC value of low-risk category for MSDs exposure based on the overall work environment category.

Abstract

As competition increases, delivering better service becomes more important; it is not with the expception of PT. Telekomunikasi Indonesia, Tbk (PT TELKOM), which is the only state-owned enterprise as well as the largest telecommunication and network service provider in Indonesia. This is because service quality is considered as an important aspect for the success of the service provider. This study aims to assess the service quality of PT. TELKOM for IndiHome products. A preliminary study showed that there are many customers complaining about IndiHome's service quality. In addition, the tight competition and the emergence of several similar service providers as well as attractive promotion will inevitably attract customers not to be loyal if PT. TELKOM does not immediately improve the quality of the service. This research was conducted not only to assess the service quality of IndiHome (using SERVQUAL), but also to give some recommendations to PT. TELKOM especially Regional 1 Sumatra in order to attain customer satisfaction. There were 153 respondents who participated in this study. The results show that on average, customers are not satisfied (the gap value is 1.539). This negative value means that the customers have high expectations of the services that should be delivered by PT. TELKOM, but in reality the performance of the service is not as high as their expectations. Therefore, some recommendations are given to improve the performance of IndiHome service quality so that the customers are satisfied.

Abstract

The particular characteristics of spare parts have prompted several authors to provide substantial results for effective spare parts supply chain management. In this context, the purpose of this paper is to present the significant contributions that researchers have proposed, over time, for the spare parts supply chain management. The literature has shown that the particular characteristics of spare parts have a significant impact on inventory performance and customer demand fulfillment. For this reason, most of the contributions were focused on spare parts classification methods, forecasting methods and inventory optimization.  The focus of researchers on some areas of spare parts management allowed us to identify some promising perspectives that were not developed in the literature, such as the development of performance measurement frameworks for the spare parts supply chain and the measurement of organizational maturity.

Abstract

Corrective action on the engine damage is a temporary emergency measure, so further action is required by conducting maintenance activities, prevention of damage (Preventive maintenance), and able to detect abnormal symptoms before the machine breakdown occurs. The sudden impact of machine damage resulted in disruption of planned production performance so that it is necessary to identify and analyze the factors that cause the machine damage. Establish maintenance method using Autonomous Maintenance, Preventive Maintenance and Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) concept to prevent machine failure from the beginning, through fault tree analysis (FTA) method, failure mode effect, and analysis (FMEA), mean time between failure (MTBF) is an analytical activity for implementing RCM systems on machines and critical components, able to identify and detect symptoms of malfunction before the machine is damaged. The results of the research get better application of maintenance system so that identification of important components can be anticipated from the symptoms of damage. Overall, there is an increase in performance seen from the increase of Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) value, still expected to continue to increase according to JIPM 85% standard value. In conclusion FMEA, FTA, MTBF analysis method can be used to build autonomous maintenance, preventive maintenance and reliability centered maintenance so as to facilitate the production and maintenance in determining the proper maintenance of the machine.
