Abstract

The use of cooking oil repeatedly and beyond the normal limits (waste cooking oil) can cause variety of dangerous diseases to human health such as heart failure, high risk of diabetes, coronary heart disease, and others. However, the use of waste cooking oil is still high today. This is shown from the results of research in Makassar which is poor and rich people use the same cooking oil for frying as much as 61.2 percent use it twice, 19.6 percent use it three times, and 5.4 percent use it as four time. Based on the problem, it is necessary to have an automation system for classifying the frequency of the using cooking oil, so it can be used for the frequency classification of the use of cooking oil that has been used several times (waste cooking oil) accurately. In this study, the parameters used are the color and turbidity level of cooking oil. Determination of cooking oil classification is based on color and turbidity level of oil obtained from TCS3200 color sensor readings and sensor photodiode by Arduino Uno microcontroller by using Bayes methods. This method is chosen because it is one of the classification method that is quite simple, easy to understand, and has high computing speed. From the results of the tests performed, it is known the percentage error reading TCS3200 color sensor is 1.9% and photodiode sensor can work well. So, if the cooking oil is more turbid, the value of the photodiode sensor is smaller. Furthermore, the test system using Bayes methods with the amount of training data is 65 data and test data is 35 data obtained an accuracy of 71.42% with a system of computing time on average over 13.144 seconds.

Abstract

At this time, the monitoring system conducted by farmers still using manual procedures, namely to check directly to the field. At the time of manual checking can occur error at the time of input data such as writing errors due to the number of data. From these problems, it is necessary that the system periodically checks on the state of the plant. Therefore WSN is used as a means of checking wirelessly to facilitate the monitoring of plants and state machine methods used as a method used in research. In this research used several sensors, among others, temperature sensors, light sensors, and soil sensors. In this research the state machine method is used as a useful method to see the behavior of systems that have been made by researchers. Tests on the system made done as much as 6 times that is ,times the test on the execution of each state, testing the length of transition execution, testing the total state execution time and transition, sensor testing, data delivery testing, and sleep mode test. So the result of the implementation of state machine method successfully done with the system running. In this Research the average results of state testing as much as 10 times the total state station transition is state “diam” 21543.6 microsecond, state “termonitor” 921594.4 microsecond, and “terkirim” 1161218.4 microsecond. Then the results of the tested sensors in accordance with the expected and incoming data in accordance with the display serial monitor. For sleep mode test is not in accordance with the settings that have been done due to a delay factor in the program that affects the of the system becomes longer than the time specified.

Abstract

Brawijaya University as one of the public universities in Indonesia, has a Seleksi Mahasiswa (SELMA) UB which used as a public official media for information delivery. Based on the result data from the initial questionnaire distributed to respondents, several shortcomings are occured on the SELMA UB website. Respondents are having difficulties in finding the required information, the ambiguous content layout on the website, unappealing website appearance, dysfunctional links, and the disturbing excessive scrolling features. Therefore, further evaluation is necessary to determine the usability and quality level of website services from the user's point of view. This study aims to improve the usability and quality value of website services by providing a recommendation scheme for website interface design. The evaluation result for SELMA UB website usability, measured using WEBUSE, shows 11 statement indicators with Moderate usability value which required improvements. Meanwhile, the evaluation result for quality of service by using WEBQUAL 4.0 and calculation of Importance Performance Analysis (IPA), shows the results of gap analysis between performance and importance is -0.78 or <0. For quadrant analysis results, there are 10 statement indicators in quadrant I, III, IV and in need of improvement. The outcome of the website interface design improvement recommendation based on the HHS Usability Guidelines is a website interface design mockup of SELMA UB.

Abstract

Electricity is major requirement in today's society. As an important source of energy for household, industrial even government. The increasing demand of electricity itself caused waste of energy. The energy use can be monitored by Kwh meter, to determine how much elecrity that has been used in room is not yet possible. Electricity monitoring usage system in the room using NodeMcu and MQTT (Message Queueing Telemetry Transport) would be a right solution. NodeMcu microcontroller as MQTT client publisher is using C++ program and using PubSubClient library. Then we perform a test to measure system performance of each node for monitoring electricty used in the room. There is a different value of amphere when we conduct the test that is 0-03 ampere when there is no electronic devices activity and 0.17 ampere when there is an activity of electronic device. It is possible to send the data using mqtt and the results can be displayed in grapchical form. At each node 1, 2, and 3 the diffrence is 1.50463 - 6.92544 watt-hour when the hair conditioner at level 1, iron and laptop is on, 1.4475-4.3209 watt-hour when the hair dryer at level 2, iron, and laptop is on and 0.094254-2.981733 watt-hour when all of the electronic devices is off.

Abstract

New college students will feel a significant difference compared to high school life, in both the academic and socio-cultural aspects. To prepare mentally and gives an overview of the learning system and life on campus so it needed the orientation program for new students to accelerate the adaptation to the new environment. In the “Pengenalan Kehidupan Kampus” (PK2) new students tend to stay in the room, students can enjoy the activities by playing the game while walking around on campus. From that problem created a game media that used for introduction to university life by using mobile devices with Augmented Reality technology. In implementation of game PK2 will be using Unity game engine and camera sensor using Vuforia SDK. On implementation, the pointer on the game will move based on the position of players. There is also mini-game that played using the camera sensor to obtain information of the campus. The information that has been obtained through mini-game can be accessed via “ensiklopedia” menu in the game. Tests performed include functionality and usability testing. Through functionality testing Filkom: exploration functionality has been going well. Through usability testing obtained reciprocal of the respondents, with an average satisfaction score 4:13 (82.67%).

Abstract

The quality of the web service Salestockindonesia.com needs to be evaluated because it has a ranking of 1591 according to alexa.com, ranked 422 according to similiarweb.com and ranked 72 according to statshow.com which can be stated far below similar websites. Evaluation is done by using Webqual variable that is usability, information quality, and service interaction quality. Usability there are six indicators, information quality there are four indicators, and service interaction quality there are three indicators. Data quality of service obtained from questionnaire which then the result is analyzed by using method of Importance Performance Analysis (IPA). Data obtained from the number of samples of 100 respondents by using questionnaires. From the evaluation results can be stated that the quality of service on the variable usability of two indicators of good quality that is on the indicators of ease of us and navigation and learnability. Four indicators of poor quality that is on the indicator of appearance, the imaged conveyed to the user, errors, and satisfaction. In variable information quality two indicators of good quality that is on indicator of relevance and accessibility. Two quality variables are less good that is on indicators of representational and accuracy. In service interaction quality variable two good quality indicator that is at indicator of trust and responsiveness and one indicator of quality is not good that is at empathy indicator. From the results of these tests the authors provide recommendation improvement for the poor quality that is referenced from the relevant journal or scientific articles.

Abstract

Malang raya is one of regions which becomes the main objective place to visit because it has many tourism places. The thing which has to be noticed is determining the tourism schedule, every tourist must choose the shortest distance and time to be able to reach that destination because they can save the time. To reach that destination, it is used greedy algorithm with knapsack problem to assist the optimation process against searching the shortest traveling time and how many tourism places which can be visited from the possessed time. Time allocation which is possessed by the user to tour is used as an integrity in calculating this application, while the traveling time at each tourism locations which are also used as an integrity is time data which is gotten from google maps. With thats data, the application with greedy algorithm will calculate the most optimal location to be visited with the time which belongs to the user. According to the result of testing application with ten sample of problem cases gets accuracy result 90% from two models of greedy algorithm calculation in searching location which can be visited by the allocation time which is owned. While the result of optimal tour accuracy that is visited is 0% from the first model of calculation and 80% from the second calculation.

Abstract

In an effort to reduce poverty, the government of Mladingan sub-district, Situbondo provides social funds for society categorized as low class society, the fund is given based on an assessment of several indicators, determined by the government and made to assist the government staff in classifying the families who deserve it, so that the distribution of fund is well-targeted. This study aims to design a system that can classify the society by assessing them as fund beneficiaries or not. Classification method used in this study is Learning Vector Quantization. The data input of the prospective beneficiaries through data transformation process will result as data weight, which is used in the classification process. Weighting data are done by giving such score according to each parameter. The object used in this study is the data collection of the Families in Mlandingan Subdistrict, Situbondo. The family data contain 7 poverty parameters including age, the number of the family members, income, outcome, housing conditions, home ownership status, and educational level. This study uses five test scenarios that resulted a recommendation value of learning rate 0.1, decrement learning rate 0.1, training data as 30%, minimum learning rate 0.01 and maximum number of iterations 2. Accurate results obtained is 98%.

Abstract

One of the problems in computer network is load balancing. The emergence of Software Defined Network (SDN) architecture is expected to be a new paradigm in addressing issues related to load balancing on traditional networks. The flexibility gained from separation between control plane and data plane on the SDN architecture makes it feasible to develop technologies that hard to implement on traditional networks. In this research, a load balancing algorithm is developed based on the SDN architechture. An SDN controller that is connected to an SDN switch will sends messages to each server based on the specified time interval to get the CPU and memory utilization and response time from each server. Those parameters are used to determine the load of each server. The SDN switch will then split request from client to server with smallest load. Load balancing algorithm's performance will then be compared to similar algorithms on server clusters with same specification (homogeneous) and server clusters with different specifications (heterogeneous). The result found that the proposed algorithm is able to distribute requests from clients to servers based on status of the server and perform better than similar algorithms on server clusters with different spesifications (heterogeneous).

Abstract

Software requirements engineering is crucial in the software engineering process. One of the main causes of software requirements engineering failure is that the stages are not done quite well. The structuring and clearly defined semantic will make the requirement spesification easy to be understood and validated. Linguistic based modeling method and ontology be used for modeling specification and its validation base. Sistem Penilaian Prestasi Kerja Dinas Kominfo Kota Malang is used as case study in this thesis. The requirement specification which is obtained in the development process is modified and modeled into semantic model. DITA (Darwin Information Typing Achitecture) is used as semantic method which work for documenting the requirements in scenario format with additional ontology annotations. The additional ontology function is to be the reference from DITA to ontology or vice versa. It aims to facilitate the requirements understanding during the maintenance process. The requirements validation and verification is using the ontology method by applying the query to the requirements. The query results show the completeness, consistency, and correctness status toward the requirements. The benefits of performing the validation and verification to the requirements using this method are the requirements which have errors can be detected very soon and easily with the level of completeness, consistency, and correctness up to 100%.
