Abstract

Macrozoobenthos in vegetated area of seagrass had abundancy higher (0,070-0,085 ind/2738,06 cm3) than the un-vegetated area (0,035-0,067 ind/2738,06 cm3). This finding revealed by t-test that shown by accepted H1. It means a significant difference between the abundancy of macrozoobenthos in vegetated to un-vegetated areas. The number of species found in vegetated area by using corer in Doreri Bay was 113 species and in unvegetated area was 57 species.

Abstract

Marine lake is a unique ecosystem. It focuses at four locations in the world. One of them is in Raja Ampat. Each lake have a unique character according to the level of connection with the sea. Lake Balbullol is the deepest lake among the sea lakes in Misool, alienated, and has never been studied. This study want to know the character of Lake Balbullol. Description of the lake is done by a series of field surveys and loggers recording to determine the physical character, water quality, and presence of the biota. Lake width was 1.94 ha and the maximum depth was 38 m. Temperature and salinity showed a homogeneous vertical profile, thus forming a holomictic type. During 6 months time series, the temperature was always warmer than at the ocean, as well as salinity. Although the distance between the lake and the sea is very close (<45 m), the tide on the lake was delayed 4 hours rather than the sea. Tidal amplitude was only 25% of the ocean. From measurement of the tides showed Lake Balbullol was isolated lakes, however, there were no biota as an indicator of isolated lakes exist. There were at least 7 soft corals with attributes many and abundant exist in this lake.

Abstract

Plankton is divided into two classes namely phytoplankton and zooplankton, where phytoplankton is microscopic plants that buoyant and float in the upper part of the ocean, whereas herbivor and carnivore zooplankton have more planktonic characteristic. This research aimed to figure plankton distribution pattern horizontally in Ohoililir water, Southeast Maluku Regency. Collecting data conducted on October, 2015 by using plankton net with 80 μm mesh size on four stations. Total Profusion plankton were around 1,785,000-3,015,000 sel/m3 which the most dominant zooplankton found were from crustacean class and Branchionusangularis genus as high as 49,000 sel/m3. The highest profusion was on second station and the lowest was on fourth station. Highest distribution pattern horizontally was on second station with profusion value more than 30.000 sel/m3.

Abstract

Sanggeng traditional market that located in the coastal area of Manokwari city as a community trade center which providing daily community needs. Generally, the commodities that available are either household need, fish market and agriculture products, in addition due to market location in the city center it effects to highly community activities. Thus, effect to uncontrolled organic waste is source from mainly agricultural product, fishes, and also from others organic products. This condition is happening in highly intensity and still continues everyday, so it could affect to waters environmental degradation. Indicator that used to assessing water quality degradation based on highly organic waste is by assessed organic concentration then comparing with KLH 51 year 2004. Based on result of turbidity and dissolved oxygen parameter was found that highly condition at BLK location. In addition, highest TSS and TOM was found at waters around of hadi Mall. Highest BOD5 concentration was found in around of Fish market waters. Tides factor also effected to physical and chemical distribution in these waters. This condition shows that organic waste impact to water quality at Sawaibu Bay could affect to waters organisms’ life

Abstract

This study aimed to find the fish distribution in size, heavy - long, and factors condition. This research was doing in March until June 2015. The methods that used to measure are descriptive method and technique observation. The total of sample fish obtained as many as 500 tail. The measure ment of length distribution obtained for individuals male which ranges are 109 -303 mm and 125 – 299 for female. Based on the results of correlation analysis between the length and weight of the fish is all positive and very strong, female fish has a correlation coefficient value 0.6184 with coefficient of determination (R2) 0.3824 and male fish 0,5775 with coefficient of determination (R2) 0,3335. This means there is a close relationship between the weight and body length of the overpass. The result of regression test between the length and weight of the female flying fish is W = 0.0015L2.0321 and the male glider is W = 0.004327 L1.8417, followed by the test of value b (regression coefficient value) obtained b <3 which means the growth of fish pattern shown allometric negative. It means that the length of body rises faster than their weight. In term of factors condition Decapterus sp. Classified in less flattened fish.

Abstract

An effort to maintain biodiversity of species in ecosystem is essential considering the high demand of fish in the market which is related to the amount of exploration. Trophic level is position of a species or a group of species within a food chain or food web, where it showed phases of transfer energy and material inter and intra on each group. This study aimed to analyze species composition and trophic level of lift net catch in ohoililir village water, southeast maluku regency. Observation variables on this research were, species composition, length and weight of fish also trophic level of catch by using lift net. Experimental fishing was the methodology for data collecting. Results shows that, trophic level of fish which catch by lift net was categories included to trophic level three (TL3), means most of fish catch by lift net dominated by omnivorspecies, as the result the fish structure community and pyramid become unstable. In order to prevent this matter, better conservation of fish around the area based on trophic level by considering various ecosystem components like fish and its food chain.

Abstract

The Success of kakatua fish catching (family scaridae) using very good handline was determined by bait. The type of bait that is always used by fishermen are crab and anchovy. The objectives of the study were 1) to determine the type of bait that faster to catch kakatua fish in large quantities, and 2) to determine the most effective time to catch kakatua fish in handline operation. Research activities were conducted in Watdek waters, Southeast Moluccas in March to May 2017. The catching operation is done simultaneously by two fisherman who use handlines above the speed boat. In one day 4 catching were made, between 06: 00-08: 00 am, 08: 00-10: 00 am, 14: 00-16: 00 pm, and 16: 00-18: 00 pm. This study used a comparative descriptive analysis method to analyze the difference time of kakatua fish catching. While statistical analysis of complete randomized design (RAL) was used to see the effect of bait type on the number of catches. The results showed that the crab bait obtained the highest, namely 318 fish or 70% and anchovy bait catch 135 fish or 30%. The best time to catch the kakatua fish (family scaridae) is at 06.00-08.00 am get 226 fish or 50%, 08.00-10.00 am gets 108 fish or (24%), at 16.00-18.00 pm gets 57 fish or (13%) and at 14.00- 16.00 pm gets 62 fish or 14%.
