Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the level of anxiety and learning motivation on student achievement. This research is a kind of ex post facto, a six-month study period. A population of 125 students, with a sample of 100 students were randomly selected. The research variables are student achievement as the dependent variable, while the independent variable is the level of anxiety of students and student learning motivation. Data collection methods used were the questionnaire method and documentation. Data analysis technique used is path analysis. It can be concluded that there is a negative relationship between anxiety level of students' motivation, there is no direct relationship between the level of anxiety of students on student achievement through student learning motivation, there is a positive relationship between learning motivation on student achievement. So it can be stated that there is a correlation between the level of anxiety and learning motivation of students simultaneously on student achievement.

Abstract

The world development of the 21st century is marked by the progress and the demands of technologies, which may lead to regression. Life in the 21st century demands a person to master a range of skills. One of the important skills in the 21st century is critical thinking skill. This study focuses on the definition, importance, challenges in developing indicators and assessment of critical thinking skills. Critical thinking skill is the ability to think logically, reflectively, productively and systematically appeared in making consideration and making the best decision. Critical thinking skills are beneficial in improving the analysis skill, creativity, ability to make use of ideas or information, and looking for information skill as well as self-reflection. Learning can do the development of learners’ critical thinking skills. An important indicator in the critical thinking skills is interpreting which about an ability dealing with studying or analyzing, identifying the relevant or irrelevant sources, identifying and evaluating the assumptions, implementing various strategies to make the appropriate decisions, summarizing and regulating themselves.

Abstract

Cheating seems as an ordinary habit for most of teacher, so they tend to ignore it and rarely to discuss as a central issues in learning evaluation. Cheating is one of manifestations in using illegitimate ways, means to achieve a legitimate end. Cheating problems is become very crucial cases since it will be bring into the job places and daily life. Therefore, self-efficacy is absolutely needed to build up the children’s confidence; it is also very important because selfefficacy have many functions, such as: (1) to develop the strong commitment, (2) to establish children in having their grand plans to achieve the goals, (3) to stimulate children’s braveness in facing the challenges, tasks, and tests, and (4) to avoid children from doing any acts which may appear the failure. In order to discover those problems, we need to use the psychological approach based on Albert Bandura’s theory and to invest the religious characters’ values related to the Al-Qur’an in Ali Imran, verse 139. There are two kinds of cheating done by children, they are; (a) cheating by self-effort, in a small note form, in pencil box, tucked inside of calculator, and putting into HP, (b) cheating together, by creating the codes or signs which make them easy to understand each other. The cheating happened not only because of the supervisor’s irresponsible and careless, but also arises from pressures which force children to gain the good score and pass the exam. This habit is supported by the social media and much of link which provide safely cheating tricks, through Facebook, limakaki.wordpress.com, munsypedia.com, caranyontek.blogspot.com, tololpedia.com, etc. Based on the writer analysis, there are two kinds of learning activities which may threat the children’s selfefficacy, are: (1) teacher often gives punishments that make children shame. In fact, punishment itself would arise the negative legitimating among children. It is better to use the Sinaas Apple punishments are termed by Jan Ligthart, (2) teacher less give the students’ opportunity to be more creative. It’s because the class tends to apply the teacher-center learning, where teacher as a central who won’t to be bothered by the questions or student’s feedback. Consequently, we need to change the teacher’s mindset, parents’ views, and also social environment that proved by the result of this study.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the character education contained in a children’s story entitled Small So Comrade, Big So Opponent. The type of this research is descriptive qualitative. The object in this study is a children’s story entitled Small So Comrade, Big So Opponent written by Tri Isyanti and Siti Andari. The research data was collected through reading and taking notes techniques. The data analysis in this research is conducted by implementing pragmatic approach. The steps conducted are identifying, reviewing, interpreting, and describing the parts of the children’s story that can be utilized as the form of character education. The results of this research as it is depicted in the children’s story entitled Small So Comrade, Big So Opponent written by Tri Isyanti and Siti Andari portray that there is a character education value in terms of mitigating disaster. The children's storybook is set for 3rd grade of elementary school students who have environmental and social concerns towards flood disaster, just in case someday it strikes their place of being. There are five character educations depicted in the children's story which are environmental caring; social caring; generosity, being helpful and cooperative; respect and courtesy; and curiosity.

Abstract

The demand of KKNI curriculum in the 21st century is about the equality of learning achievement covering attitudes and values, work ability, scientific mastery, authority and responsibility. For that, PGSD graduates of Sarjanawiyata Tamansiswa University (UST) Yogyakarta are expected to be able to design the learning activities, which is in line with the development of science, and technology, which is on the same time, are able to bring Indonesian cultural value into it. The graduates’ competence are presented in their abilities to develop elementary school learning activities based on the Science Environment Technology and Society (SETS) and integrate local wisdom into it. The purpose of this research is to describe the skills of critical thinking of PGSD students in developing SETS-based learning integrated with local wisdom and also along with the indicators that appear in each skill aspect. This is a type of quantitative descriptive research with non-test data collection techniques, observation, and documentation. While the main instruments are in the form of Student Worksheet (LKM), the observation sheet towards the indicators of critical thinking skills. Data analysis techniques is done by using descriptive statistics interpretation through several answering criteria: very good, good, fair, poor, and very poor which is then the results are presented in the form of tables. The results showed that the average critical thinking ability of PGSD UST students was 69.24% with can be categorized in good criteria. Indicator of every critical thinking skills aspect has appeared, even though some targets of achievements have not been optimally gained yet.

Abstract

This research is conducted to see the role of parent child relationship in gay. Parent child relationship is an interaction between parent and a child which is included three main aspects namely, parenting, attachment, and social learning. Every individual has sexual orientation or has interested to other, it could be the same sex or to the other opposite sex. The person who is interested to the same sex, called Homosexual. Homosexual could be divided by two, which is lesbian and gay. This research is conducted on gay or individual male who is interested to the same sex. This research uses qualitative approach with in-depth interview to six persons who is 20 up to 40 years old who has gay sexual orientation. The result of this research shown that three aspects in parent child relationship has a role to six gay. On the first aspect, it is found that abusive in parenting has a big influence in sexual orientation, as well as the second aspect, attachment, which has a role to sexual preference in gay. On the third aspect namely social learning has a role in a learning process with environment that has the same sexual orientation; in this case, it is strengthen the individual sexual orientation.

Abstract

The development in the digital era also accompanies the development in the world of education. The implementation of the 2013 curriculum requires careful planning to produce quality output. This planning begins with preparing prota, promes, RPP. This study aims  to analyze thematic learning planning based on local wisdom, to describe the supporting and inhibiting factors and to describe the effort done by the school to overcome the problem. This research uses qualitative descriptive research conducted at SD Muhammadiyah I Malang, data collection techniques used, among others, observation, interview and documentation. And the results of this research shows that teachers at SD Muhammadiyah I Malang have implemented a local wisdom-based learning plan before teaching and learning activities begin. Supporting factors of quality human resources, and adequate infrastructure facilities. While the inhibiting factor is the implementation of local wisdom learning for the activities of the visit takes a long time. To overcome these problems the school provides facilities for teachers to attend seminars, training and workshop.

Abstract

This study aims to comprehend the implementation of character education with a comprehensive approach at Taman MudaJetis Elementary School Yogyakarta, to find out the obstacles in the implementation of character education with a comprehensive approach at Taman MudaJetis Elementary School Yogyakarta, and to know the solution to solve the obstacles in the implementation of character education with comprehensive approach at SD Taman MudaJetis Yogyakarta. This study uses a qualitative method. The data collecting technique uses in-depth interviewand direct observation. The steps of data analysis utilize Miles and Huberman model, which are data presentation, data reduction, and confirmation, while validity test data includes internal validity test, external validity, reliability, and objectivity.The results of this study indicate that character education applied in schools is not taught in the form of special subjects but integrated into all lessons with a comprehensive approach that includes inclusion, modelling, value facilitation, and soft skill development. The obstacles in the implementation of character education are the misused of the advancement of science and technology by learners, family and society factors and environment that does not support the learning, low teacher competence especially new teachers in implementing character values. The strategy to break the barriers in implementing character education is to form qualified and professional teachers by including teachers in professional training at local and national levels and increasing synergies between schools, families and communities.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the disciplinary cultivation in the Development of Learners course of college students majoring in Primary Teacher Education. The disciplinary cultivation is conducted through several ways, namely lecturers and students make an agreement together, lecturers become the role model, lecturers motivate and guide the students, lecturers as partners, and also lecturers give freedom to the students but limited to the rules that is governed. The method of this research uses qualitative research so that it is able to give an overview of social situation in depth. The research results describe that the methods implemented by the lecturers are successful in increasing the students’ disciplinary in the course of Development of Learners for college students majoring in Primary Teacher Education.

Abstract

Along with the advancement and the changing of times, the quality of learning process becomes a demand that must be achieved.The learning process implemented should be student centred so as to improve the quality of education. In order to achieve meaningful learning process, the scientific approach is appliedso that the learners can find their own concepts in learning by the guidance of theirteacher. The teacher only holds a role as a facilitator in learning. Along with the spiritof the governmentin applying the scientific approach in the 2013 curriculum, it is still questionable whetherthe scientific approach implementation will have an impact on improving learning outcomes or not. The documents of previous studies are used in this study. The data collection is obtained through google scholar by browsing the electronic journals. From the search results obtained, 10 research journals areanalysed further in the form of percentage (%). Based on the results of the analysis, the scientific approach is able to improve learning outcomes, ranging from the lowest 2% to the highest 34,51% with an average of 23,35%.
