Abstract

The title of this research is the concept of philosophical thought of Muhammad Iqbal about education and its relevance of character development for Indonesian. The objective of this research is to find something new on Muhammad Iqbal’s view about education and its relevance with characters development of Indonesian and to do critical evaluation toward Muhammad Iqbal’s thought about education in his books.The method of this research is library research using books as source of data with data analysis method consisting of: data reduction, data classification, data display and hermeneutics method. Hermeneutics is a method to find meaning with countain description methodical, verstehen, interpretation and heuristics. Description is a method collecting verbal data that is and explanation of philosophical thought. Verstehen is a method to comprehend the object of the research by using logic principles. Interpretation is a method to inform the essence of reality. Heuristics is a method to find new things.The result of this research was education according to Muhammad Iqbal view, it should be directed to revive, to support human individuality and to find the source of national culture with giving benefit than created creative activity. The essence of Muhammad Iqbal’s thought about education with the character development of Indonesian could give inspiration to every Indonesian people in order to do self correction toward education that has been carried out so than realized the right situation of education with the noble values as stated in Pancasila.

Abstract

Education always exists in the center of cultural concrete circumstances. It begins with studying from the past, creates the recent concrete circumstances and consciously arranges the future. Indonesia has had a value system based on the Indonesia culture itself, so that in the process of transformation, that value system will become the spirit of Indonesian people in the future. Accordingly, in this research, the critical evaluations about the national educational cores and objectives as formulated in Undang-undang No. 2 Tahun 1989 (Ordinance No. 2 yer 1989) is arranged in order to know their matching with the development of education in the future.This research is a bibliographical study. Its data were collected from some bibliographical sources. The books investigated were those which studied the national education and Undang-undang No. 2 Tahun 1989 (Ordinance No. 2 year 1989) about National Educational System. Bibliographies on Philosophy of Culture, Pancasila (the Five Principles). Antrophology and Value were used as materials for arranging the analysis of the axiological foundation for the National Education System. The collected data were analyzed by using hermenutical method. The elements of hermeneutical method are description, interpretation, and reflection. Descriptive method is used to find the corer or materials and objectives of the National Education System. The interpretative method is used to find the foundation of value, culture, and axiology of the National Educational System. Lastly, the reflective method is used to critically arrange the axilogical foundation for developing future global educational system.The main result of this research showed that the axiological foundation of National Education System was the ability of rationality having characteristic of freedom and creativity inspired by the value of Pancasila. The National Education System as the actualization of Indonesia value and culture was on open system, that it would always be relevant with the development in both national and global scopes. The National Educational System has given the foundation and framework in the process of actualization for keeping its relevance with the exchange of time. National curriculm have determined the divisions of lesson subject matter for keeping the national sight to grow in order the leaners know the probelms of Indonesia national struggle. Morever, the national curriculum has also determined the determined of divisions of lesson for keeping the freedom and creativity to grow, so that the rational freedom and creativity will always be inspired by the value of Indonesian nationality, that is Pancasila.

Abstract

Education for sustainable development has become global paradigm recently. This paradigm is a form of dynamic response and debate faced by the global community such as global warming, energy crisis, climate change, food security, as well as environmental damage. The main idea, in this paradigm was put in three main principles which are to build environmental, socio-economic and cultural sustainability. This study aims to explore and describe how the paradigm in Tongyeong-si, Gyeongsangnamdo, South Korea. This research focuses on the basic philosophical paradigm and implementation of education for sustainable development at a school in the city of Tonyeong (Tongyeong-si), Gyeongsangnamdo, South Korea. The results indicate that the basic philosophy applied in education for sustainable development in the Tongyeong is formed community who have a concern for the environment has its base in the reconstruction of the society will be able to change the surrounding community. This educational paradigm can contribute in strengthening aspects of character education and awareness of the environment for future generations with the support of actors from the government and society through an integrated approach to policy and program activities that are on going, so it has an impact and benefits for better society.

Abstract

In this time, there are a lot of accidents, like flood, landslide, fire, dryness, storm, tsunami, earthquake, and mount eruption. A lot of victims in these disasters. The victim have never represented an object choice, even victim have never chosen. Social reality describing to live together that demand a good social relationship and interaction of intersubjectivity. The Gabriel Marcel’s concept is the most relevant concept. The problems are what is the nature of “I” according to Marcel? How about the concept of relation of intersubjectivity? What is the concept of Love and Hope? What relevancy the Gabriel Marcel’s concept with human and emphaty with the victim of disaster? The Result of research are: According to Marcel’s view of existence of human being cannot be objectivied. The existence is my real experience as a subject in the world. In other word, existence represents the complexity of all factors that signs my live. Because of Marcel’concept gave appreciation for relation, he sure that man is the dynamic creature, always be achieve the level of to be. This level require to be confessed because to become to be myself, somebody will depend on its relationship. Intersubjective relationship according to Marcel marked with attendance. The mystery of human being is on this relationship. Attendance represents the meeting I – Thou, not only be comprehended simply as a meeting someone in the space. Attendance realized with the love, and faithfulness. These unsure are the important elements in understand and feel disaster victim, not as an object felt pity. Expectation will penetrate the certainty, which can make the calm human being and not afraid to death, also for the disaster. Expectation will appear the belief. Despair becaused of losing the expectation, belief, and love. These elements will realize the awareness to the eternity love, inclusive of God. Love represents the philosophic key on Marcel’concept which find the balance solution. Love gives the meaning of intersubjective relationship. With Love, the object will never died. Love gives the eternity meaning, to remove the hate each other, like expectation when removing the fear, despair. The contrary, expectation gives someone the confidence, certainty to uncertainty. Love and expectation confirm the self- faithfulness to the others inclusive of God.

Human being is the highest creature among all creatures. Even, he is higher than the world and it is very important for it. The perfection of the world depends on him. Human being in relation to the universe is like spirit for body.The world without human being is like a unclear mirror which can not refract a picture. The picture of God can not be seen in the mirror cleary so God command that the clear mirror of the world can refract His picture clearly. The human being is the clearness of mirror and the shape of the picture.The most perfect mirror for God is the perfect human being because he refracts all the names and the behaviour of God However, other refract only a few parts of the parts of the names and the behaviour of God.The perfect human being, faces all existances of individualism. Spiritually he faces higher individualism; the body he faces lower individualism. His heart faces to (al-Arsh). His soul faces to apen (Al-Qalam) and his spirit faces (luah-Mahfudz)

Abstract

AbstractThe modern culture has a big influence in all over the world. The big influence, especially on developing of modern culture or modernity to modernism, makes hegemony on the cultures of non-Western. It states that the modern worldview has operated its hegemony toward non-western ones. All segments of modern worldview base on thought and the modern culture of thought is science.Kawruh Bimosuci as a Javanese worldview is a Javanese gnosis and very potential to rise a collective awareness in order toreconstruct on a worldwide scale culture accompanying its characters that go to compatibility with the ideational cultureaccording to Pittirim Sorokin. Kawruh Bimosuci is able to develop critically a new vision of culture. The capability takes place in the ideas domain and, moreover, a national self-identity in the current modern hegemony that its basis is the hegemony of modern worldview toward the Eastern tradition and system of knowledge.Keyword: Kawruh Bimosuci, worldview, science, hegemony,dialogue-dialectic.
