Abstract

Pain is often experienced by patients treated in the hospital and is the most frequently reported events in post-surgical patients. Ketorolac associated with the incidence of adverse reactions include, the incidence of acute renal failure and bleeding disorders. The purpose of the study was to observe and report on the profile of adverse reactions include the use of ketorolac on renal function and hemostasis as well as the effectiveness of the analgesic ketorolac. A total of 20 patients who received ketorolac compared to the value of the glomerular filtration rate (GFR), bleeding time (BT), Blood Clotting Time (CT), prothrombin time (PT) and International Normalized Ratio (INR) between before and after patients received ketorolac. Compared to the value of the Visual Analog Scale (VAS) ranging V day I to day administration of ketorolac. One of 20 patients (5%) who use ketorolac for 5 days had decreased GFR by 66.70%.. Whereas for hemostasis testing showed that ketorolac can influence hemostatic seen from increasing on BT  (0,04; p <0,05), CT (0,02; p <0,05), PT value (0,03, p <0,05), as well as an increase in INR value (0,03; p <0:05) but still in normal range. Comparison of the mean VAS score from day one to day five showed that administration of ketorolac can reduce pain and disappeared on day 4, where VAS values between days 4 and 5 showed no statistical difference (0,56; p> 0,05). Conclusion. incidence of renal damage incident occurred at 5%, and may affect hemostatic function in patients. Resolution of pain may occur at day 4 ketorolac administration.Key word : Evaluation, Adverse Effects, Effectiveness, Ketorolac, Post-Nerve Surgical Patient

Abstract

Nephrotoxicity is a disorder of the kidneys that occurs when exposed to drugs or toxins. Pandan wangi leaves have antioxidant activity expected to give antinephrotoxicity effect. This aim of study is to determine the antinephrotoxicity effect of the ethanol extract of pandan wangi leaves (Pandanus amaryllifolius Roxb.) based on the decline of rat creatinine level induced by gentamicin. Eighteen male Wistar rats were divided into 6 groups. That is naive, negative control by Na-CMC 1%, positive control by the suspension of keto acids, and treatment group with ethanol extract of pandan wangi leaves at 125 mg/kgBW, 250 mg/kgBW and 500 mg/kgBW. Nephrotoxicity condition was induced by Gentamicin 80 mg/kgBW (ip) for seven days. The blood samples were taken and measured the serum creatinine levels on days 0, 8th and 22th by Human Analyzer. The results study showed that ethanol extract of pandan wangi leaves at 250 mg/kgBW and 500 mg/kgBW have the effect as antinephrotoxicity based on decreased creatinine levels.

Abstract

The people of West Kalimantan tend to store water in water reservoirs around their homes, so that the water reservoirs are preferred to be used as breeding sites for Aedes aegypti mosquitoes. Prevention of the development of mosquitoes is very important, one program to suppress mosquito transmission is by eradicating larvae. The many negative effects of synthetic larvicides make the use of cytetic larvicides restricted, thus encouraging the development of natural larvicides, which are safe for the human body, easily accessible and environmentally friendly. Celery is one of the vegetable larvicides that is being developed by several researchers, so the purpose of this study is to determine the larvicidal activity of celery herb infused and to determine the concentration that can kill the most larvae and determine the values of LC50, LC100 and LT50, LT100. This research was conducted with a concentration of 1%, 2%, 3%, 4% and 5%, positive control (abate 0.01%) and negative aquadest control tested on 25 larvae for 24 hours. The results of this study showed the highest Mortality Percentage of mortality of Aedes aegypti larvae obtained from the infused of celery herbs (Apium graveolens L.) at a concentration of 5% which was 98.64%. Lethal concentration (LC50) infused of celery (Apium graveolens L.) as larvacide was 1.88%, LC100 4.43%, and Lethal Time (LT50) at 12.39 hours, LT100 at 29.42 hours
