Abstract

This article aims to analyze cultural intelligence in the problem-solving process with a focus on the study of the role of cultural intelligence for counselors and counselors in counseling services. Intensive literature review of the role of cultural intelligence in counseling services is a research methodology of this paper. Therefore, this paper is expected to contribute to the development of science in the field of problem-solving assistance services, especially cross-cultural counseling services. This paper is expected to be one of the treasures of multicultural competence development in the implementation of problem solving assistance services.

Abstract

Learning difficulty is a barrier in a learning process which is faced by students so he/she cannot achieve academical achievement that he/she wants, Meanwhile social interaction is a mutual relationship process or interaction between 2 or more individuals which affect each other as individual developmental step in social situation in anywhere they live. This study was conducted to obtain how much the frequency distribution of learning difficulties and social interaction and also the students individual description who have learning difficulties and social interaction problems. Participants amounted to 217 students of 11th graders in SMA Negeri 15 Bandung. The research method used for data collection is descriptive analysis. The instrument used is a closed questionnaire using the Guttman scale with a choice of Yes or No answers. The results of this study revealed that learning difficulties students 11th graders in SMAN 15 Bandung are in the low category. Meanwhile their level of social interaction is high category. Six students are also found having both learning and social interaction difficulties with different symptoms.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the increase in discipline of learning santri through guidance and counseling. The scope of the study refers to: obedience at the time of entrance of activities, obedience and compliance to the rules in the pesantren, completing the tasks of teachers in boarding schools, coaching sanctions for those who violate. The research method using Descriptive Qualitative Research, with data collection techniques in the form of observation and interview. The subjects of the study were santri in Pondok Pesantren Al-Hadi Min Ahlisunnah Wal Jamaah Pekalongan. The results showed that the discipline of learning santri low, so that the boarding school pesantren impose a system of punishment on students who are not disciplined. Students feel bound by the rules but do not implement and comply with the rules that apply in the boarding school. Through the role of boarding school board members in providing guidance and counseling services using behavioral approach, able to improve the discipline of learning santri.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between the intensity of parents guidance with speaking ethic among adolescents.. This research was conducted at Madrasah TsanawiyahAlbidayah. The research design used is correlational research. The population in this study each of 162 people from students and parents with a sample of each 40 people from students and parents. Data collection techniques were conducted using a questionnaire. The correlation coefficient found was 0.421 at the medium category. So there is a moderate level of correlation between the intensity of parents guidance with speaking ethic among adolescents. The significance value (0.007) <0.05, which means there is a significant relationship between the intensity of guidance that parents do with speaking ethic among adolescents. The determinant coefficient is 0.422 = 0.1764. This can be interpreted that the influence of the intensity of guidance that parents do to speaking ethic among adolescents = 17.64%, and the remaining 82.36% determined by other factors beyond the intensity of guidance by parents. Based on the results, the authors suggest to parents to improve guidance activities to children by providing good examples. School must have guidance programs that involve parents in the process.

Abstract

Guidance and counseling in Indonesia has been established since the 1970s. Despite all the obstacles in it’s aplication, guidance and counseling continuously to develop. Since that counselor profession has taken a role in order to serve optimizing the potency of the counselee. Along with the globalization, the role of the counselor becomes increasingly important, in conjunction with the problems faced by the counselor. Goverment through professional organization have develop a standardized guideline to meet the inherent expectations of the counselor profession. Through this article the authors try to describing an overview of the responsibilities that should met by the counselor in various settings as an effort to maintain and improvethe counselee wellbeing

Abstract

University Partnership Program aims to improve teachers' knowledge and experience in implementing multiple intelligence-based on learning services for children with special needs. Objectives are achieved by training methods, mentoring and practice of guidance services to 8 inclusive school teachers in SD Muhammadiyah 2 and Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Magelang. Stages of activity begins with teacher training in a multi-intelligence based on learning service for children with special needs to mentoring the implementation of learning guidance conducted for 3 months (January - March 2018). Through these activities, the more teachers know, the more teachers have skills in providing services based on multiple intelligences especially potentials student. Based on the results of university partnership program can be concluded this activity can improve the knowledge, understanding and skills of teachers in the implementation of learning guidance services to students especially children with special needs.

Abstract

This study is the result of research which examined the effectiveness of guidance and counseling of Islamic solution focus brief therapy in order to improve self regulation of students procrastination in STAIS Majenang. Self-regulation scale questionnaires, procrastination scales, observation and documentation are used as the data collection instruments. This research was done in research mixed methods using quasi experimental method non equivalent pre test and post test two group design. The sample of the research are 35 STAIS Majenang students which are determined by using purposive sampling technique. Samples were divided into two groups, i.e 18 students for the experimental group and 17 students for the control group. Data analysis used T-test paired sample T-test to calculate the difference of pre test and post test in experiment and control group. While independent sample T-test is used for post test of experimental group and control group. The result of data analysis showed that the level of self regulation before treatment, the experimental group was on average score 62,18 and the control group was averaged 59,18. After the treatment, the self-regulation rate of the experimental group reached an average score of 96.88, a significant increase of 34.7. Unlike the control group that was not given treatment, the mean score after the post test only reached 59.59, meaning there was no significant increase or change between post test and pre test in the control group. The level of procrastination before treatment, the experimental group was on average score 74.88, the control group was averaged 78.35. After treatment, the experimental group achieved an average score of 58.71, a significant decrease of 15.97 on average. Unlike the control group that was not given treatment, the average score was still 77.94, which means no significant change in condition between post test and pre test in the control group. Based on self regulation hypothesis test in experimental group which used Mann Whitney Wilcoxon statistic test, the result was known that Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) = 0,000 <0,05 and Z -3.623a. Thus Ho is rejected and H1 accepted, meaning there is a significant difference self-regulation score between pre test and post test in the experimental group. Similarly, in the case of procrastination, based on out put on the experimental group, it is known that Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) = 0,000 <0.05 and Z -3.622a. Thus Ho is rejected and H1 accepted, meaning there is a significant difference between procrastination score pre test and post test in the experimental group. In other words, Islamic guidance and counseling solution focus brief therapy is effective in improving self-regulation of students procrastination in STAIS Majenang.

Abstract

This innovation work is based on an idea of the importance of quality improvement in guidance and counseling services. In this case, School Counselor is required to provide optimal service in providing career information services to students. Based on the findings at school, there are still many class IX students who have not been fully established in the process of selecting secondary schools after junior high school. Some of them explained that they were still confused, lacking understanding about the difference between high school and vocational high school, lack of knowledge about self potential, up to parents, because parents were seen as more entitled to the determination process, where they were financing the school process. The making of MELANKOLIS (Media for Career Education Services for High School Students) is seen as a form of facilitation for students in making an option to continue their studies after junior high school. The results of the use of media have been able to increase students' understanding of choosing secondary schools as evidenced by the acquisition of service evaluation results of 99, 56% categorized as Very Good. Where the level of satisfaction of students towards services shows that at 89, 28% of students rate Very Satisfying. In addition, MELANKOLIS has also been able to increase the enthusiasm of students in following services. These three results are an indicator of the successful implementation of MELANKOLIS in increasing students' understanding in choosing secondary schools after junior high school

Abstract

University partnership program aims to:(1) improve the performance and the quality of the guidance and counseling teacher in the school environment; (2) increase of innovations in managing the administration of guidance and based sociometri – sociogram. The devotion is carried out in the laboratory of instrumentation faculty of teacher training and educational science of University of Muhammadiyah Magelang, on 19 February 2018. Trainees are guidance and counselling teacher of vocational secondary school in Magelang city. Based on the result of the University partnership can be concluded this activity can improve the understanding and skill in the use of analysis sociometri–sociogram.
