Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the validity of Natural Science teaching materials for fifth grade of elementary school. The development of this teaching material focused on "Human digestive devices, food and health'' material. The product developed was teaching material based on 7E Learning Cycle learning model (LC7E teaching material). The validity measurements were done by technique of expert validity and content validity. Teaching materials are legitimate if they reach "good" and "very good" categories. The level of validity of LC7E teaching material is on the valid criteria with an average score of 3.8 and a 95% success. The result of the content validity of the 24 questions given by the data obtained an average of r count of 0.575 > r table 0, 514. With that results, the teaching material developed is declared valid.

Abstract

This research aims to develop an instructional material to improve students' creative thinking and friendliness. This study was developmental research applying the R&D model of Borg & Gall. The subjects were 124 fourth grade students in Yogyakarta Special Region, Gunungkidul. The data collected through interviews, tests, observations, and questionnaires. The appropriateness of the sainsmatika-based fairy tale book was ana- lyzed qualitatively and the effectiveness of it analyzed using a one-way MANOVA test at the significance level of 5%. The findings were as follows: (1) the appropriateness of the sainsmatika-based story tale book gets good category scores for the mathematical content aspect and very good category scores for the science content, media and lan- guage aspect also get very good category score from student-teacher responses. (2) The score of the effectiveness test using one-way MANOVA is 0,000<0.05. Therefore, sainsmatika-based story tale book is able to improve students' creative thinking skills and friendliness.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out whether there is an influence of the learning model Guided inquiry on the learning outcomes of science process skills of students at SMP Negeri 2 Wonoayu. The design of this study is the non-equivalent control group design. The samples used in this study were 2 classes with sampling techniques. Where from the two classes, one class is used as the experimental class, which is given treatment by using the guided inquiry learning model, while the next class is used as the control class by using the learning model that is usually used in the class. The research instrument used was a matter of science process skills with data collection techniques using the test method in the form of pre-test and post-test questions. Data analysis techniques are carried out using the "t" test. From the "t" test, the results show that there is a significant influence between the guided inquiry learning model on science process skills.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the relationship between the ability of students in science subjects on aspects manners in SMP Negeri 3 Jambi. The method used in this research is descriptive method, where research is conducted to find out the value of variables independently, either one or more variables without making comparisons, or connecting with other variables. In this study, there were 50 respondents consisting of 25 students of class VII A and 25 students of class VII B. The instrument used was a questionnaire. The results showed that students in the class VII A has politeness in the high category, while students in grade VIII B has a politeness in the low category.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze students' critical thinking skills through the application of learning cycle type 7E at SMPN 1 Krembung. This research is a quan- titative research type of quasi-experiment with one-group pretest-posttest design. Data were collected using pretest and posttest to measure students' critical thinking skills with critical thinking indicators from Robert H. Ennis. Data were then analyzed using N-Gain to determine the improvement of students' critical thinking skills. The results showed that the indicator of critical thinking skills "determines actions" gained the highest N-gain score of 0.8 and the lowest N-gain value is the "focus question" indicator of 0.167.

Abstract

This study purposed to investigate attitudes towards science in junior high school students,based on 2 attitude indicators: (1) enjoyment in science lesson & (2) leisure interestin science. In addition, measurements were also made regarding the relationship betweenthe two indicators of attitude. This research is survey research. The results of the datacame from an attitude questionnaire consisting of indicators (1) enjoyment in science lessonand (2) leisure interest in science. The sample consisted of 2815 junior high schoolstudents in Jambi Province, Indonesia. The results showed that for indicators: (1) enjoymentin science is good category with a percentage of 48.1%, (2) leisure interest in scienceis fairly good category with a value: 47.2% and This indicator leads to a positivetrend supported by a positive attitude with a greater good value: 38.4%, while for theanalysis of the correlation between the two indicators shows a positive correlation with asig: 0,000 (<0.05) and has a strong degree of correlation indicated by the value "PearsonCorrelation": 0.716. Therefore, it is concluded overall attitudes towards science at Juniorhigh school students in Jambi, Indonesia have a positive attitude and are categorizedwell.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of frequency of out-school learningactivities and learning motivation towards improving students' natural science learningachievement. This research is quantitative research with an ex-post facto approach. Thesubjects in the study were 8th grade students of SMP Negeri 8 Mataram in the academicyear at 2018/2019 with a total of 260 people. Data collection of science learningoutcomes is obtained from daily tests from teachers in schools while data collectionof the frequency of out-school learning activities and learning motivation is obtainedusing a questionary. The effect of frequency of out-school learning activities and learningmotivation on learning achievement of science are analyzed using analysis of covariance(ANAKOVA). The results of the study show that: 1) the frequency of out-school learningactivities has a significant influence on science learning achievement; 2) student's learningmotivation has a significant effect on science learning achievement, and 3) there is aninteraction between the frequency of out-school learning activities and learning motivationon students' learning achievement in science. The frequency of out-school learningactivities and learning motivation is proven have effect on science learning achievement.

Abstract

The swift flow of globalization has led to increasingly eroded Indonesian local culturalvalues. This has caused a shift in neglected cultural values and local wisdom. Therefore,an approach is needed, namely ethnoscience in the learning process. This studypurposed to determine whether The Elementary School of Muhammadiyah Alam SuryaMentari has applied ethnoscience in science learning and describe the implementationof ethnoscience based on science learning in The Elementary School of MuhammadiyahAlam Surya Mentari.The method used was descriptive qualitative research design. Theresults of the study showed that the planning of science learning based on ethnoscienceapproach in This School was still unplanned, but the school had unconsciously implementedethnoscience approach. The implementation of science based on ethnosciencelearning was by integrating between the material with the environment, culture, and socialin the environment. Evaluation of the implementation of ethnoscience based on sciencelearning included cognitive, affective, and psychomotor evaluation in accordance withevaluation standards in the 2013 curriculum.

Abstract

Indonesia has many endemic butterfly species and there are about 2,000 species found inIndonesia from 17,500 species of butterflies in the world. This research was conducted forfive months from January to May 2017 at Cibodas Botanical Garden of Cianjur Regency,West Java. Technique of taking data is done by butterfly captured directly by insect netin each observation point. The observation of butterflies in the three locations of SakuraPark, Guest House and Fountain at Cibodas Botanical Garden found 98 individuals from21 species consisting of 4 families, among others Papilionidae (4 species), Nymphalidae(12 species), Pieridae ( 4 species), and Lycaenidae (1 species). At the location of SakuraPark has the highest index value, among others, the species diversity index (H '= 1.92)is moderate, the species richness index (R = 3.51), and the dominance index (C = 0.27),while the species evenness index highest at the Fountain location (E = 0.87). Studentsare rarely invited to visit KRC to learn directly.

Abstract

The purpose of the research activity is to know whether there is an influence of the abilityto think creatively on the ability to manage the environment with a problem-basedapproach to the PKLH course. The method in this study is a quasi-experimental method,the sample in research activities is physics education students, namely R4A class totaling29 people. While the data collection techniques used in this study are questionnairesgiven to determine students 'creative thinking abilities and scoring instruments from studentscientific reports to determine students' abilities in managing the environment. Thesimple linear regression test was used to examine the research hypothesis. The resultsshowed that there was an indirect effect between the ability to think creatively on theability to manage the environment with independent assignments in the PKLH courseshown from the hypothesis test that is fcount <ftabel that is equal to 0.139 <3.37.
