Abstract

This research aims to provide a new discourse to the younger generation about the world of creating dance works. The field of development dance work creation has resulted in new discoveries ranging from creation methodologies to movement techniques that require dancers to improve fast. A choreographer must investigate every dance element that has been "considered" as a support in a dance performance, in addition to the body. These elements include music, clothing, make-up, lighting and artistic performances. The author, a choreographer, has created a lighting system for composing and staging the dance works he creates, one of which uses light from ultraviolet lamps, which can provide a different visual impact than the use of spotlights in dance performances. This research was internal research because this approach was a reconstruction of the author's thoughts on the lighting exploration process in every work process. The development of lighting in the staging of dance works should provide creative discourse for young choreographers in their work. So that young choreographers do not rely exclusively on exercise to create new movements. The stages of exploration involved in processing lighting vary significantly from the process of exploring the body. Lighting exploration focuses on using ultraviolet light on objects that are presentations of ideas and creative ideas. As a result, the author's development of elements that are "considered" supporters in a dance performance was presented in several dance works. Combining body techniques with ultraviolet-ray-irradiated objects takes dance performances to a new level.

Abstract

The family is the place for the most basic moral education received by children,therefore the family has a significant role in guiding the children for not consumingany drugs. Communication based on religious values created by a family is certainlyvery influential on children in avoiding drug use. This study aimed to determine theculture of family communication based on religious values in preventing drug useamong Muslim families. The method in this research was descriptive qualitativemethod. The results showed that the parties who have a very important role inpreventing drug abuse are families, especially parents. Parents and dearest familyare the closest environment that can influence adolescent’s behavior. Therefore, therole of parents is needed in strengthening the mental and personality of adolescents.It will cause the children are not easily persuaded and fall into drug abuse. Theculture of communication based on religious values created for preventing drug useamong Muslim families so that the family can develop positive environment orvalues for their children, for creating effective communication, being a role modelfor children and supporting the healthy and positive children's activities. Theresearchers would like to thank the two families who were willing to be participantsin this study and provide the data for this research.

Abstract

In this era where technology is vastly developed, and even children can use or utilise smartphones, technology has become something general because of its ease. Therefore, technology can keep learning materials relevant to create suitable learning media for learners in this era. This study aimed to elaborate on the product's specifications and the learning media of Gandrung dance using the android application's developmental process. The research and Development method was used, and ADDIE-model was featured to assess the product's effectiveness. The data was collected using observation and interviews. The result of the study shows that the product development of Gandrung dance into a smartphone application consisting of Gandrung dance's graded material study from the synopsis, dance movements, makeup and wardrobe to quizzes. The three developmental processes that have been done up until this point are analysis, design, and development. The research problems were decided during the analysis stage, and the design and development stage was developed, developing the material or the product's display and bringing the idea into the product.

Abstract

Education is one sector that plays an important role in building the nation and forming a complete human being. The impact of the pandemic condition makes the learning process at all levels of school to college feel very less enthusiastic. This is because the teaching and learning process which was initially carried out directly / face to face shifted to the learning and teaching process which was carried out through platforms that were integrated into internet-based networks (e-learning). The purpose of this study was to find and design a learning strategy for the Minangkabau Traditional Music Practice Course, FBS UNP Sendratasik Department. From the situation and conditions seen through the GAP analysis, several techniques/procedures must be passed so that the learning objectives can be achieved. The research method was carried out through several stages, including; 1) observation, 2) design of learning devices, 3) implementation of learning, and 4) tests, evaluations and revisions. This research is proven through stages; 1) learn the basic principles of the technology under study, 2) use the formulation of technology concepts; and 3) proof-of-concept of important functions and/or characteristics analytically and experimentally regarding learning strategies for Minangkabau Traditional Music Practice to achieve student competence.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop teaching materials for literary texts based on local wisdom culture of North Sumatera at Grade VII semester 2 and the digitalization of the learning. The literary teaching materials developed were folk poetry, fable, and fictional texts. This study used the Research & Development method referring to the 4-D model developed by Thigaranjan et al.  This model consists of four development steps such as define, design, develop, and the disseminate. The data in this study was analysed by using descriptive qualitative analysis.  The validation on the teaching materials developed was carried out by 3 experts, namely material expert, language expert, and media experts. Furthermore, the teaching materials developed was tested on preliminary field and main field testing for Junior High Schools (SMP) relevant with the model of research method used. The study results showed that the teaching materials got excellent qualification in content validation (91.06%), excellent qualification in language validation (90%), excellent qualification on media expert validation (89.76%), excellent qualification on learning practitioner validation (95%), and excellent qualification on student response trials (88.98%). Thus, from the results of the research conducted, it can be concluded that the teaching material developed is "valid" which means that it is suitable to use as Indonesian literary texts teaching material based on local wisdom of North Sumatera at grade VII Semester 2.

Abstract

YouTube is the world’s largest video platform and has become a popular place for musicians to promote their digital music. This study aims to describe the effectiveness of YouTube as a platform to promote digital music by the music group Ndarboy Genk. The method used is descriptive-qualitative, describing Ndarboy Genk musicians who have used YouTube to promote their digital music. The perspective used to study this research is Internet marketing. Internet marketing is the process of empowering musicians to promote their websites, products, or services online and through social media channels to communicate with a much larger community. The result is that the YouTube digital platform is a solution for artists or music creators to promote their work without having to be sheltered by a music label; even music labels can be created by the artists or creators themselves.

Abstract

This research aims to find out significant differences in violin playing skills between students who were taught using an intermediate level violin textbook made by a team of lecturers and students who were not taught using an intermediate level violin textbook made by a team of lecturers in the Music Study Program, Universitas Negeri Surabaya. The research method used is a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental type. Research result is known that the violin playing skills between the experimental group and the control group differ significantly. This conclusion is proven by the mean score of the experimental group which is higher than the control group in the posttest activity. The mean posttest score in the experimental group was 88.45. Meanwhile, the mean posttest score in the control group was 82.65. Another thing is also shown by the results of the independent sample t-test in the experimental group and the control group during the posttest activity with a calculated t value of 6.104 and a t table value of 2.086. The calculated t value > t table value, so it can be said that the experimental group and the control group differ significantly. Therefore, there is an influence of the application of an intermediate level violin textbook made by a team of lecturers on violin playing skills in the Music Study Program, Universitas Negeri Surabaya. The increase in violin playing skills was more demonstrated in the experimental group than the control group. This argument is proven by the mean pretest score in the experimental group of 81.15, while the mean pretest score in the control group is 80.7. The mean posttest score for the experimental group was 88.45, while the mean posttest score for the control group was 82.65. The experimental group experienced an increase of 7.3. This is shown from the mean score of 81.15 at the pretest which increased to 88.45 at the posttest. Meanwhile, the control group also experienced an increase in the mean score of 1.95.

Abstract

Dalam diskursus teater di Indonesia, wacana-wacana teater Barat masih mendominasi pada wilayah teoritis bahkan dalam wilayah praksisnya, baik di lingkungan akademis maupun teater otodidak. Dominasi tersebut menjadikan teater terkesan berjarak dengan masyarakat penontonnya. Sebagai upaya mendekatkan teater pada masyarakat, pengembangan metode akting berbasis tradisi etnis dapat menjadi alternatif. Metode penelitian yang akan digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode Penelitian dan Pengembangan (Research and Development) yang dikembangkan oleh Thiagarajan, dkk. Tahapan pelaksanaan penelitian sebagai berikut: Pendefinisian, Perancangan, Pengembangan. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah metode pelatihan akting Batak Toba yang disusun dalam pelatihan tubuh berdasarkan teknik tari Batak Toba dan Beladiri Mossak.Pengembangan metode pelatihan akting yang penulis sebut sebagai Gabe Halak Batak ini bertujuan untuk menghimpun hal yang dapat membantu aktor dalam menciptakan tindakan berbasis kinerja.

Abstract

This paper aims to create works of art with Bandura's social cognitive theory approach consisting of a) Attention (attention), b) Retention, c) Motion Reproduction and d) Motivation as a foundation in the creative process of art learning in monologue courses in the Drama Concentration, Drama, Dance and Music Education Study Program (Sendratasik) Faculty of Language and Arts, Surabaya State University. This lecture is a type of practice with a total of 4 credits, students are directed to practice directly through various methods, strategies and competency content contained in the course. The focus in the current discussion is to practice the Monologue Ludrukan Garingan Markeso Mudo is a competency achievement that will be obtained by students if the stages can be carried out according to the procedure. The implementation of the Ludrukan Garingan Markeso Mudo Monologue is simulated in public spaces targeting crowded places such as markets, stalls or other public spaces that are in accordance with the needs of the actor's concept. The application of Bandura's Social Cognitive Theory as a tool to produce student process space in obtaining structured steps before implementing in the Monologue Ludrukan Garingan Markeso Mudo. Finally, it can obtain a good implementation formulation in practice in the field

Abstract

Dance learning in schools is synonymous with learning movements that have a gentle character. This condition is one of the things that causes men's interest in learning dance to be very weak. Moreover, the tendency of students' interest in learning dance today has been influenced by modern culture such as the existence of modern dance that has developed in society, especially among the younger generation today. When teachers provide traditional dance material, the majority of students consider it too old-fashioned to learn at school. The purpose of this study was to increase male students' interest in learning dance in extracurricular activities by using the peer tutor method. This research uses the Classroom Action Research method with a quantitative approach to find a solution to the problem of weak male students' interest in learning dance in extracurricular dance activities. Data collection techniques were carried out by observation, interviews and questionnaire instruments through google form. Data analysis was carried out by conducting a Paired Sample T Test to see differences in pretest and posttest results. The findings of this study indicate that the peer tutor learning method is able to increase male students' interest through the Lenyepan dance material provided by the teacher in extracurricular dance activities. From the four stages of learning carried out, the results look very significant, the improvement that continues to occur in each phase makes the results of this study show a positive increase. So it can be concluded that the peer tutor learning method is very suitable for attracting male students' interest in dance learning. Judging from the increase in male students' interest in learning dance.
