Gondang is a Journal of Art and Cultural for information and communication resources for academics, and observers of Art and Culture, Performing Arts, Educational Arts, Methodology of Art and Cultural. The published paper is the result of research, reflection, and actual critical study with respect to the themes of Art and Culture. All papers are peer-reviewed by at least two referees. The scope of Gondang is the Science of Art and Culture. Published twice a year (June and December) and first published for print edition in June 2017.

Abstract

Dalam meningkatkan kemampuan menulis cerpen, seorang guru harus pintar merancang suatu strategi belajar dengan pemilihan model pembelajaran yang tepat. Salah satu cara yang dapat dilakukan seorang guru adalah menciptakan suasana belajar yang lebih inovatif terhadap pembelajaran sastra, maka dipilihlah metode outdoor learning sebagai salah satu upaya meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman menulis cerpen. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen pada siswa kelas VII SMPN 1 Sumedang, sebanyak 32 siswa. Hasil analisis data tanggapan siswa dari 32 responden dapat dilihat bahwa, sebagian besar siswa menyatakan positif dan sebagian kecil menyatakan hal yang negatif terhadap pembelajaran menulis cerpen dengan metode outdoor learning. Berdasarkan hasil pengolahan data dari populasi yang berdistribusi normal maka perhitungan dilanjutkan dengan menggunakan uji z, diperoleh bahwa z hitung = 0,50 sedangkan z tabel untuk taraf signifikan 1% ialah 2,33. karena z hitung terletak di dalam interval – z 0,4900 s.d z 0,4900 atau (-2,33 < 0,50 < 2,33), maka hipotesis yang diajukan dalam penelitian ini diterima. Dengan demikian, dapat penulis simpulkan bahwa hasil pembelajaran menulis cerpen dengan menggunakan metode outdoor learning pada siswa kelas VII SMPN 1 Sumedang.

Abstract

Learning to adjust to peers and develop attitudes towards social groups and institutions is one of the developmental tasks of late childhood. Musical abilities present as innate and function since childhood.Associated with two things namely interpersonal intelligence and musical abilities, both are being developed in late childhood. This study aims to determine whether there is a relationship between musical ability and interpersonal intelligence in the late childhood period. This research uses quantitative research method with the type of correlation. The population of this research was all students in grade 1-3 of Pangen Gudang Purworejo State Elementary School with a total of 107 people. The sample in this study was taken proportionally stratified random sampling, with a sample size of 32 people. The data collection was carried out by using questionnaire and test techniques. The data analysis uses product moment correlation, with musical ability as the independent variable and interpersonal intelligence as the dependent variable. The result showed that there was a strong and significant positive relationship between musical abilities and interpersonal intelligence in children during late childhood period. This evidence was obtained by r count > r table (0.643> 0.349) at 5% significance level. This means that the higher the musical ability, the higher the interpersonal intelligence students will have.

Abstract

Padhepokan Seni Mangun Dharma is a traditional art studio in Malang Regency. The art taught in this studio is Malang Puppet Mask, kerawitan, dance, pedhdalang, mocopatan. Padhepokan environment that is still fresh and beautiful has always been the basis of the approach in the learning process. The purpose of this paper is to study the nature-based learning process in Padhepokan Mangun Dharma with an interdisciplinary approach. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. Learning with character-based nature is what can be applied to the learning of art in the hospices of Mangun Dharma. Open nature such as in mountain areas, rice fields, rivers around the studio is an excellent ecology to teach children art now. With a free, fresh nature can increase children's focus in learning. The concept of the Maharsi Begawan Pandhito concept is an approach in learning ecology-based arts. Such learning is carried out because in order for the cantrik and mentrik to get to know nature because nature is a source of humanity to explore, create, and express.

Abstract

This study discusses the form of jaipongan dance costume which aims to obtain data from the form of jaipongan dance costume and the characteristics of each style of the jaipongan costume based on the themes. This study uses descriptive analysis method, where the researcher can describe and elaborate the findings with the existing literature. In this research, there are three categories of jaipongan costume work by Gugum Gumbira which are distinguished through the theme of the created dance. From the different themes, it can be concluded that the jaipongan dance work by Gugum Gumbira has its own characteristics from the choice of costume colours to the forms of the costume that are comfortable to wear. Also, the costume prioritizes the essence of the jaipongan dance movement.

Abstract

Era disrupsi melahirkan perubahan besar dalam dunia seni rupa, dipicu oleh perkembangan teknologi digital-virtual dalam revolusi industri 4.0. Artikel ini mengkaji tentang eksistensi seni rupa di era disrupsi. Sejauhmana teknologi berdampak dalam medan sosial seni rupa, apakah teknologi dapat mengancam eksistensi perupa atau seniman, dan apakah teknologi dapat mereduksi nilai-nilai karya seni rupa konvensional. Sejalan dengan metode deskriptif-kualitatif, pembahasan dilakukan berdasarkan pendekatan sosiologi seni, didukung dengan pendekatan visual culture dan kreativitas seni. Hasil kajian menjelaskan bahwa: Pertama, teknologi era disrupsi secara umum berdampak positif dalam medan sosial seni rupa. Dalam medan sosial penciptaan, teknologi mendukung sistem kerja yang lebih praktis dan produktif. Dalam medan sosial penyajian seni, teknologi virtual sangat mendukung sosialisasi dan promosi karya secara luas. Begitu juga dalam medan sosial pengkajian seni, teknologi virtual dapat mengundang partisipasi masyarakat global. Kedua, teknologi tidak dapat menggantikan eksistensi perupa yang berorientasi ekspresi estetis, kecuali yang berorientasi menghasilkan karya fungsional. Secara umum, teknologi mendukung aktivitas kesenirupaan. Ketiga, nilai seni rupa tidak tereduksi oleh teknologi, karena nilai karya melekat pada karakter atau roh yang dilahirkan perupa, bukan yang dihasilkan teknologi.

Abstract

The digital age is an era that makes it easier for people to receive and send information. Various digital technology systems are increasingly developing in one area of education or learning. The purpose of music learning is applied and internalized as learning that encourages students to be creative and express according to their development. To live this digital era both students, teachers and school institutions will face challenges. Challenges can be seen from the students, teachers, and school institutions. In students, such as the lack of students' interest in music, and teachers of learning music not from a background in music, as well as school infrastructure does not fulfill music learning. To face this challenge, the school held a learning revolution and teacher competence. The use of this research method is a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. With the reason that the writer observes, and constructs the social situation about music learning, the obstacles faced, and solutions to face obstacles so that it is more clear and meaningful.

Abstract

This article was created with the aim of seeing the extent of the identity of Riau Islands through the art of dance known in the community and trying to revive the identity of traditional dance through documentation of the dance movement itself. Thus, the problem in this research is focused on traditional dance movements that are indeed the identity of Riau Islands identifiers, namely malay dance movements. This research was conducted by exploring the roots of the dance from art actors directly through interviews and documenting them. Through the collection of dance movement information is then documented so that it can be seen or read by all people. So that traditional dance as the identity of Riau Islands is well documented. Based on the results of the rersponden assessment, 61% stated that knowing and knowing the traditional dance of Riau Islands, the rest stated that less knowing the traditional dance. Art performances can only be enjoyed on certain occasions. To overcome this, one way to bring traditional dance identity to life is to gather information related to traditional dances and document them in the form of photos, videos and books, increasing the frequency of dance performances.

Abstract

An open talk about sexual matters has become a taboo thing for most societies, and it is no exception for Tenggerese society. Through the internalization of traditions, Tengger ancestors gave their encoded message to children and adolescents on the subject of life, including sexual issues. The symbolism of sexual education was beautifully and courteously transmitted through the dance gestures of the Sodoran Dance. This research aimed to reveal the symbolic messages of the Sodoran dance that employs folklorism approaches and cultural studies. The collecting and analysis of data are done by ethnographic to unfold deeply and holistic to the culture of the Tenggerese people through the presentation of their view of life. This research shows that every part of the Sodoran dance represents the origin of human life which is from male and female meetings, marriage, birth, until the journey of human life. The Tenggerese adolescents’ exposure in the dance is reflected cultural transmission tendencies, a form of recognition, learning, and an expression of room in culture to grow more and more love of culture. More specifically, Sodoran dance is essentially a form of sexual education for the Tenggerese adolescents.

Abstract

Dance performance plays an important role in daily life. It is not only showed on the stage but also becomes religious ceremony, therapy media, habitual fellowship, catharsis, and character development. Character development is formed by education to someone.  Character education will inherent a human that has a superior character not only from cognitive aspect but also a good character in this disruption era. Rapa’i Geleng is one of traditional dance from Aceh which can be used as a development character media in Kota Jantho’s correctional institution. The purpose of this research is to develop a character for inmates through Rapa’i Geleng Dance. The method used qualitative through phsycological, religion, and pedagogic approach. Based on the result, there are significant increment in behavior of inmates through arts (Rapa’i Geleng Dance). The increment of behavior is going on the same direction as method of approach that used in this study; Physicological, Religion, and Pedagogic.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop teacher modules to improve teachers' ability in managing learning materials. The study used a research and development method developed by Borg and Gall. The Subjects of the research was Teachers of Arts studies that are not backgrounded in art education. The data collection techniques used questionnaires and Focus Group Discussion. Technique of the data analysis used analisys description. Arts Subject is still guided by teachers who have no background in art education. On the other hand, the progress of information technology is still not utilized optimally. Art dance material in practice is easier to use audio visual media. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a digital-based module that can be accessed through various social media. The results showed a digital-based module developed to improve the ability of teachers in managing learning materials. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the development of digital dance teacher module is used to improve the teachers’ competency of art and culture. Recommended, teachers are be able to develop modules in accordance with the needs in the field.
