Abstract

This article illustrates fixturing algorithm for determining clamping point of hole-based modular fixture. The proposed algorithm is based on the algorithm developed by Ariastuti et al. The previous algorithm could be applied for determining clamping point of dedicated or slot-based modular fixture but it can not be applied directly for hole-based modular fixture. Conversion of locators’ coordinate and clamping coordinate into coincident baseplate-coordinates and an approach for modeling the magnitude and action point of equivalent forces are proposed. This algorithm is designed for fixturing prismatic workpart having machining feature(s) being processed on a vertical milling machine. The machining features are hole, blind hole, pocket, slot, blind slot, step, and blind step. Three hypothetical worksamples were analyzed using Ariastuti’s algorithm and this new algorithm. The result shows that both algorithms have the same properties in terms of feasible fixturing and unfeasible fixturing on a single setup.The new algorithm gives coordinates that coincide with holes of related baseplate in feasible fixturing. Forces equilibrium during machining is the only aspect being considered for feasibity analysis. Fixture elements’ dimension, strength, and deformation have not been considered yet. Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia: Makalah ini memaparkan algoritma fixturing untuk penentuan titik pencekaman fixture modular jenis hole yang dikembangan dari algoritma Ariastuti et al. Algoritma Ariastuti et al. dapat digunakan untuk menentukan titik pencekaman dedicated fixture dan modular fixture jenis slot, namun tidak dapat diterapkan secara langsung pada modular fixture jenis hole. Algoritma usulan menambahkan satu tahapan berupa penyesuaian koordinat lokator dan klem yang bersesuaian dengan posisi lubang pada plat dasar modular fixture jenis hole. Algoritma yang diusulkan berbeda dalam hal penentuan besar dan titik tangkap gaya potong ekivalen, serta penentuan titik pencekaman yang dipilih. Penelitian dibatasi pada fixturing benda kerja prismatik yang memiliki feature hole, blind hole, pocket, slot, blind slot, step, dan blind step untuk pemesinan pada mesin milling vertikal. Fisibilitas fixturing ditentukan oleh kondisi kesetimbangan gaya selama proses pemesinan. Aplikasi algoritma usulan pada tiga buah benda uji hipotetis memberikan hasil yang setara dengan algoritma Ariastuti et al.; berupa kondisi fixturing fisibel atau tidak fisibel. Hasil kondisi fixturing yang fisibel adalah titik lokator dan klem yang bersesuaian dengan posisi susunan lubang pada plat dasar fixture modular untuk pemesinan benda kerja dalam satu kali setup. Algoritma yang dikembangkan belum mempertimbangkan kendala dimensi dan kekuatan elemen fixture serta deformasi. Kata kunci: fixture modular, fixturing, titik pencekaman

Abstract

Knowledge is currently viewed as an important strategic resource in companies in order to gain competitive advantage. However, the success in generating competitive advantage will depend on the company’s ability to acquire and assimilate knowledge (potential absorptive capacity) and to transform and exploit knowledge (realized absorptive capacity). This research proposed three hypotheses by processing the sampled data of 114 companies of information and communication technology industry in Indonesia. Based on the results, this study finds that knowledge sharing capability significantly influences potential absorptive capacity and the company’s ability to acquire and assimilate knowledge has a positive influence towards the company’s ability to transform and to exploit knowledge. The relationship between potential absorptive capacity and realized absorptive capacity is moderated by formal mechanism. Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia: Pengetahuan saat ini dipandang sebagai sumber daya strategis yang penting bagi perusahaan untuk dapat memiliki keunggulan bersaing. Kesuksesan perusahaan menghasilkan keunggulan bersaing tergantung pada kemampuan perusahaan mengakuisisi dan mengasimilasi pengetahuan (potential absorptive capacity) dan mentransformasi dan mengeksploitasi pengetahuan (realized absorptive capacity). Penelitian ini mengajukan tiga hipotesis dengan mengolah data sampel dari 114 perusahaan pada industri teknologi informasi dan komunikasi di Indonesia. Hasil penelitian menemukan bahwa knowledge sharing capability berpengaruh signifikan terhadap potential absorptive capacity, kemampuan perusahaan mengakuisisi dan mengasimilasi berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kemampuan mentransformasi dan mengeksplotasi pengetahuan. Hubungan antara potential absorptive capacity dan realized absorptive capacity dimoderasi oleh mekanisme formal. Kata kunci: knowledge sharing capability, potential absorptive capacity, realized absorptive capacity, mekanisme formal, industri teknologi informasi dan komunikasi.

Abstract

This paper presents a case study in selecting the best location for a Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU) in Bali. FSRU is an alternative to replace a conventional shore LNG terminal. The selection involves several criteria/attributes that can be grouped into two general criteria, namely qualitative and quantitative criteria. Multiple Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) approach is utilized to solve the selection problem, considering the capability of this method in solving multi-criteria problem with mutual conflict. Qualitative criteria are evaluated using AHP method to calculate weight of each criterion. Moreover, decision matrix algorithm is then utilized to convert preference of stakeholders into, consecutively, probability assignment, total probability assignment and preference degree eventually. Quantitative criteria are also converted into preference degree and entropy method is used to rank the alternatives. Selected location would be the alternative having the highest entropy. Four alternatives are under consideration. Those alternatives are Benoa, Celukan Bawang, Pemaron and Gilimanuk. This research found that Celukan Bawang is the best location for the FSRU. Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia: Paper ini menyajikan pemilihan lokasi Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU) untuk proses distribusi LNG dari Ladang Tangguh ke Bali. FSRU merupakan alternatif pengganti LNG receiving terminal di darat. Pemilihan lokasi ini melibatkan kriteria kualitatif dan kuantitatif dan metode Multiple Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) digunakan untuk melakukan pemilihan mengingat metode ini dapat memberi solusi tepat saat mutual conflict terjadi pada beberapa kriteria pemilihan. Penilaian terhadap beberapa alternatif didasarkan atas nilai masing-masing kriteria yang diperoleh dari kuisioner terhadap beberapa stakeholders. Untuk kriteria kualitatif dicari relative weight dengan menggunakan metode Analitik Hierarki Proses (AHP). Nilai relative weight ini kemudian konversi menjadi normalize relative weight, basic probability assigment dan total probability assigment hingga kemudian diperoleh nilai preference degree dari kriteria kualitatif. Selanjutnya nilai prefrence degree kriteria kualitatif ini digabungkan dengan nilai preference degree dari kriteria kuantitatif dan merankingnya dengan metode entropy. Alternatif lokasi yang terpilih adalah alternatif dengan nilai entropy tertinggi. Melalui proses seleksi awal, empat alternatif menjadi kandidat lokasi. Alternatif tersebut adalah Benoa, Celukan Bawang, Pemaron dan Gilimanuk. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa alernatif lokasi yang paling sesuai untuk lokasi penambatan FSRU adalah Celukan Bawang. Kata kunci: MCDM, AHP, kriteria kualitatif, kriteria kuantitatif.

Abstract

This paper discuses the concept of managing high-end, high-volume innovative products. High-end, high-volume consumer products are products that have considerable influence to the way of life. Characteristic of High-end, high-volume consumer products are (1) short cycle time, (2) quick obsolete time, and (3) rapid price erosion. Beside the disadvantages that they are high risk for manufacturers, if manufacturers are able to understand precisely the consumer needs then they have the potential benefit or success to be the market leader. High innovation implies to high utilization of the user, therefore these products can influence indirectly to the way of people life. The objective of managing them is to achieve sustainability of the products development and innovation. This paper observes the behavior of these products in companies operated in high-end, high-volume consumer product.

Abstract

The implementation of Six Sigma has become a common theme in many organizations. This paper presents the Six Sigma methodology and its implementation in a primer packaging process of Cranberry drink. DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control) approach is used to analyze and to improve the primer packaging process, which have high variability and defects output. After the improvement, the results showed that there was an increasing sigma level. However, it is not significantly and has not achieved the world standard quality, yet. Therefore, the implementation of Six Sigma in primer packaging process of Cranberry drink still has a room for doing a further research.

Abstract

This paper proposes the development of assembly sequence generation method for non sheet metal mechanical product which assembled by using orthogonal multi-axial orientation. The proposed method, removes exploded view generation, liaison diagram generation, manually precedence analysis and precedence relation generation step by using the main information from each steps i.e. mating, volume, and mating location point of contacted components on the final assembly. These information are used as component selection priority rule and can be extracted directly from CAD data base. Assembly sequence is generated by using 3D solid model as input in the form of stacked drawing. Feasibility of assembly sequence is performed by considering components and sub-assembly stability in assembly process, geometrical constraint, accessibility and fasteners. The proposed method is examined by using Bench Vice and provides a fisible assembly sequence as a result. Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia: Makalah ini menjelaskan pengembangan metode penentuan urutan perakitan produk mekanik non sheet metal dengan orientasi perakitan multiaksial ortogonal. Metode yang dikembangkan pada makalah ini menghilangkan tahapan pembentukan gambar urai, pembentukan diagram liaison, analisis preseden secara manual dan pembentukan hubungan preseden. Hal tersebut dilakukan dengan langsung menggunakan informasi utama dari setiap langkah yaitu mating, volume, dan lokasi titik mating komponen yang kontak pada perakitan akhir. Informasi tersebut digunakan sebagai kriteria aturan prioritas pemilihan komponen dan dapat diperoleh langsung dari basis data CAD. Penentuan urutan perakitan dilakukan dengan input gambar solid 3D dalam bentuk gambar tumpuk. Jaminan fisibilitas urutan perakitan yang terbentuk dilakukan dengan mempertimbangkan masalah stabilitas komponen dan sub perakitan selama proses perakitan, pembatas geometri, aksesibilitas dan pengencang. Abstract

The competition in industry is getting harder, where companies face changes in their environment. So that organization must increase their performance and show their ability to win the competition. This tight competition makes organization has to own innovation where employees grow according to change. In the effort of improving organization performance, it must be an harmony between organization and individual objectives. This research in the oil company Indonesia aims to harmonize it based on Total Performance Scorecard (TPS). This harmonization is done through several phases with the results of a communication among organizational Balance scorecard, scorecard section and Individual Performance plan. These things become a integrated strategic planning of the company. This integrated plan means in the process of planning, it involves departments, sections, and all employees. The advantages are to make sure all employees understand the objective of their departments and their sections, whereas they involve in the process and the implementation of the strategy. Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia: Untuk menghadapi persaingan, umumnya kalangan industri terus berupaya untuk melakukan perbaikan dan peningkatan kinerja. Dalam upaya peningkatan kinerja organisasi, keselarasan antara tujuan organisasi dengan tujuan setiap individu yang ada dalam organisasi merupakan hal yang penting. Penelitian di sebuah perusahaan minyak dan gas bumi ini bertujuan untuk menyelaraskan tujuan organisasi dengan tujuan individu dengan menggunakan pendekatan Total Performance Scorecard. Pendekatan ini mempunyai kekhasan yaitu menyelaraskan tujuan organisasi dengan tujuan individu yang tergambar dalam hubungan antara Organizational Balanced Scorecard, Scorecard Section dan rencana kinerja individu. Hubungan tersebut dapat menjadi rancangan strategi yang terintegrasi bagi perusahaan, yang dalam perumusannya melibatkan pihak departemen, seksi, serta seluruh karyawan yang berada didalamnya. Hal ini dapat meningkatkan kepastian bahwa para karyawan mengerti dan mendukung tujuan dari departemen dan seksi tempatnya bekerja, dimana mereka ikut terlibat dalam proses pembuatan dan pelaksanaan strategi tersebut. Abstract

In the modern society, apartments are one of the answers to the need of residential for the citizens due to limited area for landed housing and over crowded city for businesses. Therefore, it will be very interested to investigate the price of appartements, since they are not only influenced by, e.g., physical factors, location, external factor and distance to the central business district, but also they have dependency to the price of other appartements in the neighborhoods. This dependency is called the spatial dependency; to accommodate this dependency to model the price of apartemen by ordinary least square is not enough. Therefore, in this research we used the spatial regresion to model the price of appartements, particularly in Surabaya. Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia: Dalam masyarakat modern, apartemen merupakan salah satu jawaban akan kebutuhan tempat tinggal bagi warga kota, karena adanya keterbatasan lahan untuk perumahan dan kota yang padat dengan daerah bisnis. Oleh karena itu sangatlah menarik untuk menginvestigasi harga apartemen, karena mereka tidak hanya tergantung pada, misalnya, faktor fisik, lokasi, faktor eksternal dan jarak ke pusat bisnis, tetapi juga tergantung pada harga apartemen di daerah sekitarnya. Ketergantungan ini disebut dengan ketergantungan spasial. Untuk mengakomodasi ketergatungan ini memodelkan harga jual apartemen dengan menggunakan metode regresi linear biasa tidaklah cukup. Pada penelitian ini, akan digunakan model regresi spasial untuk memodelkan harga apartemen khususnya di Surabaya. Kata kunci: Ordinary Least Square (OLS), Spatial Regresion, Spatial Auto Regresion (SAR).
