Abstract

Penelitian ini menyelidiki performa dari metode metaheuristik baru bernama symbiotic organisms search (SOS) dalam menentukan tata letak fasilitas proyek konstruksi yang optimal berdasarkan jarak tempuh pekerja. Dua buah studi kasus tata letak fasilitas digunakan untuk menguji akurasi dan konsistensi dari SOS. Sebagai tambahan, tiga metode metaheuristik lainnya, yaitu particle swarm optimization, artificial bee colony, dan teaching–learning-based optimization, digunakan sebagai pembanding terhadap algoritma SOS. Hasil simulasi mengindikasikan bahwa algoritma SOS lebih unggul serta memiliki karakteristik untuk menghasilkan titik konvergen lebih cepat jika dibandingkan dengan metode metaheuristik lainnya dalam proses optimasi tata letak fasilitas proyek konstruksi.

Abstract

This paper discusses a variant of the basic vehicle routing problem (VRP) by including the following characteristics: fleet size and mix, multiple trips, split delivery, and multiple compartments. One of real cases of this problem is related to determining tanker’s routes in delivering fuel products from a supply port to a number of destination ports. Each tanker has several compartments where each compartment is dedicated to a certain fuel product. In this paper, a solution approach based on genetic algorithm (GA) is proposed and tested using nine hypothetical instances. Experiment results show that the proposed GA gives consistent results measured by coefficient variations

Abstract

The implementation of AEC (Asian Economic Community) leads to demand increase at ports in Indonesia. This increasing demand is followed by operational efficiency at the port as well. In fact, ports in Indonesia have an average dwell time for 5 days. One of the causes of this long dwell time is container transfer inefficiencies during loading process. In this research, we will focus in yard management and increasing land utilization. To increase the land utilization, we develop the space-sharing concept to reduce the initial space needed for a given workload. Since the ships arrivals are also varying, this concept will be possible. We develop the concept by adding uncertainty on number of incoming containers at operational level as the determining factor in planning a shared yard area. We propose a simulation approach to evaluate strategies in making yard template.

Abstract

Implementation of mobile rack warehouse is commonly used in manufacturing industry because it can minimize the warehouse area used. Applying picking orders in taking of Stock Keeping Unit (SKU) on mobile rack warehouses could give fast loading order. This research aims to find out which algorithm is better in applying picking order sequence in mobile rack warehouse. The algorithm used is Simualted Annealing (SA) and Harmony Search (HS) algorithm. Both of these algorithms will be compared in terms of the gap with the shortest path method.The result shows that the HS algorithm produces a better solution than the SA algorithm with lower CPU time, but the convergence rate of HS is lower than that of SA.HS was able to produce a better solution than the shortest path method of 9 cases, while SA only 8 cases from 15 cases.

Abstract

This paper discusses a vehicle routing problem with multiple trips, time windows, and simultaneous delivery-pickup (VRPMTTWSDP). This problem is a variant of the basic vehicle routing problem (VRP) including the following characteristics: multiple trips, time windows, and simultaneous delivery-pickup.  In this paper, a solution approach based on tabu search (TS) is proposed. In the proposed TS, the sequential insertion (SI) algorithm is used to construct an initial solution. A neighbor structure is generated by applying an operator order consisting of eleven operators of relocation, exchange, and crossover operators. A tabu solution code (TSC) method is applied as a tabu restriction mechanism. Computational experiments are carried out to examine the performance of the proposed TS using hypothetical instances. The performance of the proposed TS is compared to the local search (LS) and the genetic algorithm (GA). The comparison shows that the proposed TS is better in terms of the objective function value.

Abstract

Dairy industry is one of the essential global industries with considerably important implications for world economy where the dairy supply chains (DSC) cover every stage of the food system starting from the milk production at farmer level to final consumption. For achieving success in the dairy supply chain, it is needed to focus on critical factors (CFs) that are necessary for an organization to achieve its corporate goals with continually improving the operational performance. In this context, the current study is an attempt to identify the critical factors causing low-productivity in dairy supply chains. After comprehensive literature review and pilot studies in some dairy industries located in northern region of India, a total of 32 critical factors have been identified. A structured questionnaire consisting of 32 CFs have been circulated and the data has been collected from select cooperative dairy units. Further, only eight major critical factors have been carried forward for AHP analysis based on the data collected. The factor having higher weightage score is considered as major CF. The findings of this study indicate that the poor logistics and transportation facilities is the most critical factor as productivity barrier in the context of coop. milk processing units in northern India. This research study would be useful for the dairy professionals & managers of milk processing units to manage their production operations effectively by considering the identified CFs.

Abstract

Diversifikasi saham merupakan salah satu cara yang dilakukan investor untuk memperkecil risiko investasi. Pada umumnya, diversifikasi mengacu pada hasil perhitungan matematis berdasarkan nilai pengembalian (return) masing-masing saham, misalnya pada model mean-variance. Dalam penelitian ini dibahas modifikasi model mean-variance yakni dengan menambahkan kriteria yang berkaitan dengan perusahaan emiten, misalnya bidang usaha, status perusahaan, dan sebagainya. Sebagai contoh, investor dapat menentukan bahwa portofolio yang dibentuk hanya melibatkan sejumlah saham dari sektor pertambangan, sejumlah saham dari sektor perdagangan, dan sebagainya. Penyelesaian masalah pengoptimuman portofolio ini ditentukan dengan metode algoritma genetika. Studi kasus dilakukan pada sejumlah saham yang diperdagangkan di Bursa Efek Indonesia.
