Abstract

Recognition of unnatural patterns in control charts is important to get more understanding about the process problem. Shewhart control chart can recognize shift pattern only, while the others cannot be detected by this chart. Neural networks were proposed by many researchers to achieve the better recognition of the patterns. A system of neural networks needs to be fitted to this problem by realizing the behaviors of control charts. Each behavior will affect the development of each part of the system. Some problem need to be pointed also when dealing with the patterns of the control chart.

Abstract

The paper describes principles of factorial and fractional factorial design of experiments. The various ways of analysing data obtained by these procedures are shown via four case studies. Yates method was followed in case 1 where the effect of anode type, carbon content of steel, temperature, and agitation on cathodic protection of steel in seawater, on current density, was studied. In case 2, a glass was formulated within 10 constituante melted, quantity water and tested for flow caracteristics, from the result the factor effect was calculated. In case 3, analysis of results is done in a very simple way. In this case, the effect of carbon content, surface condition, temperature, and agitation on the corrosion of steel in seawater was studied. In case 4, the effect of eleven constituents on acid resistance of a cast iron enamel has been studied through sixteen experimental compositions. This case gives a method to find out which of the sixteen experimental compositions is nearest to a target value.

Abstract

The paper discusses optimation integrated production scheduling model which is included deciding production allocation, operations regulating for job shop process and capacity planning as integrated activity. The criteria is to complete the amount of order that is needed at some period during a planning horizon to minimize total cost. Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia : Makalah ini membahas model optimasi penjadwalan produksi yang terintegrasi meliputi penentuan alokasi kegiatan produksi, pengaturan operasi-operasi dari proses job shop dan perencanaan kapasitas sebagai suatu kegiatan yang terintegrasi. Kriteria yang digunakan adalah memenuhi pesanan sejumlah produk yang terjadi pada sejumlah periode dari suatu horizon perencanaan dengan tujuan untuk meminimalkan total biaya. Kata kunci: alokasi produksi, penjadwalan job shop, perencanaan kapasitas, struktur produk multi-level.

Abstract

The paper discusses the application of Analytic Network Process (ANP) to support the weighted of design performance measurement system with Balanced Scorecard method. During the time, the weighted uses method that disregarding interdependence between objectives strategy and Key Performance Indicator (KPI's). The method which often used in this weighted is Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP). In fact this condition does not express the concept of strategy map of Balanced Scorecard. Therefore is needed apply the other weighted method which attention to the interdependence between Key Performance Indicator (KPI). Application of the weighted with ANP method is conducted at one of the power company. This company represents result of restructuring of PT. PLN (Persero). The result of design performance measurement system of PT. X are objective strategy, Key Performance Indicator (KPI) and strategy map, will be weighted by method of ANP. Further more Modeling of ANP based on strategy map. The result of application indicates that related of model of strategy map in Balanced Scorecard at PT. X is Feedback Network (hiernet) with phenomenon of inner and dependence of outer dependence. The perspective on Balanced Scorecard is identically with cluster on ANP, while objective strategy and KPI are identically with sub-element and element. Result of weighted with ANP method shows the existence of culmination of weighted on financial perspective of Strategy Map at PT. X. Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia : Makalah ini membahas aplikasi Analytic Network Process (ANP) untuk mendukung pembobotan pada perancangan sistem pengukuran kinerja dengan metode Balanced Scorecard. Selama ini, pembobotan yang ada menggunakan metode yang mengabaikan saling keterkaitan antar strategi objektif dengan Key Performance Indicator (KPI-KPI) -nya. Metode yang sering digunakan didalam pembobotan ini adalah Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP). Kondisi ini sebenarnya tidak mencerminkan konsep Strategy Map dari Balanced Scorecard oleh karena itu perlu diaplikasikan metode pembobotan lain yang memperhatikan saling ketergantungan antara ukuran kinerja yang satu dengan yang lain. Aplikasi pembobotan dengan metode ANP dilakukan pada PT. X salah satu perusahaan yang bergerak didalam penyediaan listrik. Perusahaan ini merupakan hasil restrukturisasi dari PT. PLN (Pembangkit Listrik Negara). Dari hasil perancangan sistem pengukuran kinerja PT. X berupa strategi objektif, Key Performance Indicator (KPI) dan Strategy Map-nya, akan dilakukan pembobotan dengan metode ANP. Pemodelan pada konteks ANP didasarkan atas Strategy Map-nya. Hasil aplikasi menunjukkan bahwa jenis keterkaitan model Strategy Map pada Balanced Scorecard di PT. X adalah Feedback Network (hiernet) dengan fenomena inner dependence dan outer dependence. Perspektif pada Balanced Scorecard identik dengan cluster pada ANP, sedangkan strategi objektif dan KPI identik dengan elemen dan sub elemen. Hasil pembobotan dengan metode ANP menunjukkan adanya kulminasi nilai bobot pada perspektif finansial dari Strategy Map di PT. X. Kata kunci: Sistem Pengukuran Kinerja, Balanced Scorecard, Analytic Network Process.

Abstract

The paper describes a dynamic variant of the traditional ABC storage policy. The variant is to be used in manual order picking warehouses where SKUs experience a rather unstable demand. Its objective is to reduce the order picking time. It mainly consists in shifting items between the storage areas A, B and C according to the way their daily number of order lines changes. A few case studies based on computer simulations have shown that this variant can yield interesting time savings if its parameters are chosen with care. One of those case studies is presented in this paper. Because of the pioneering nature of this variant, some ideas for further research are also sketched.

Abstract

The paper discusses about how to increase product quality and still concern with quality cost. We add factor of time to count quality cost and the effect to quality product. Time has important function in this research, so simulation is used to analyze quality control system. The simulation on CV. Sinar Baja Elektrik shows that the propose method can decrease product reject about 8% and quality cost until 16,89% from total sales. Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia : Makalah ini membahas mengenai upaya untuk meningkatkan kualitas produk dengan memperhatikan biaya kualitas. Penelitian ini memasukan tambahan faktor waktu dalam memperhitungkan biaya kualitas serta dampaknya pada kualitas produk. Oleh karena faktor waktu memegang peranan yang penting, maka analisa sistem pengendalian kualitas pada penelitian ini menggunakan metode simulasi. Hasil simulasi di CV. Sinar Baja Elektrik menunjukan metode yang diusulkan dapat menurunkan hasil rata-rata tingkat kelolosan produk cacat untuk tiap tipe speaker hingga berkisar 8%, dan total biaya kualitas secara keseluruhan dapat diturunkan hingga sebesar 16.89% dari total penjualan. Kata kunci: biaya kualitas, efisiensi, efektivitas, simulasi.

Abstract

Procurement function in manufacturing organisations has played significantly more critical roles nowadays than in the past. The contribution of procurement function is much determined by how well the procurement management system is designed. A critical aspect of managing procurement function in order to optimise its contribution to the organisation is procurement portfolio, i.e., categorisation of items and then differentiation of procurement focus for different categories. This paper will discuss procurement portfolio as a basis for procurement manager to optimise the contribution of his/her function in supporting the organisation's objectives. The role of electronic procurement in each category of the portfolio will also be discussed.
