Abstract

Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) is an effectiveness measurement method of equipment utilization in the implementation of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM. The ability of identification in details toward main problem and the cause factors that makes the improvement efforts become more focused is the reason why this method applied comprehensively by all manufacturing companies around the world. Manufacturing process at Stamping Production Division an automotive isdustry still keeps some unrevealed problems. This condition makes the achievement of OEE figure below the target that means production equipments are not utilized optimally yet. The expression of main problem and the cause factors is needed before the company starts some improvement efforts. This research is started by understanding the equipment losses that existed in company. Then, measuring the achievement of OEE figure in one period and through the pareto analysis toward the measurement's results, the main problem and the cause factors are obtained and clearly depicted in cause-and-effect diagram. Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia : Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) adalah metode pengukuran efektivitas penggunaan suatu peralatan. OEE dikenal sebagai salah satu aplikasi progam Total Productive Maintenance (TPM). Kemampuan mengidentifikasikan secara jelas akar permasalahan dan faktor penyebabnya sehingga membuat usaha perbaikan menjadi terfokus merupakan faktor utama metode ini diaplikasikan secara menyeluruh oleh banyak perusahaan didunia. Saat ini proses manufaktur di Stamping Production Division sebuah industri otomotif memiliki permasalahan yang belum terungkap jelas. Hal tersebut mengakibatkan penggunaan peralatan yang ada belum optimal. Pengungkapan akar masalah dan faktor penyebabnya diperlukan sebelum perusahaan melakukan usaha perbaikan. Penelitian ini dimulai dengan mengidentifikasi kerugian peralatan (Equipment Losses) yang terjadi. Kemudian mengukur pencapaian nilai OEE satu lini produksi dalam satu periode dan melalui analisis pareto terhadap hasil pengukuran tersebut diperoleh akar permasalahan dan faktor penyebabnya yang secara jelas ditampilkan pada sebuah diagram sebab-akibat. Kata kunci: pengukuran kinerja peralatan, regresi berganda dan analisa korelasi, industri otomotif, peralatan pabrik.

Abstract

The paper presents the improvement of quality assurance at an automotive industry which produces multi-purpose vehicle. Their multi-purpose vehicle is a global product, which means that it should concern not only domestic market demand but also international market demand and specification. Thus to maintain customer satisfaction on product quality, one of the efforts can be done to improve quality assurance level is by implementing Quality Assurance Network activity. Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia : Artikel ini membahas peningkatan jaminan kualitas assembly line di industri otomotif yang memproduksi kendaraan niaga. Kendaraan ini adalah produk yang bertaraf global, artinya kendaraan niaga yang harus mampu memenuhi bukan hanya permintaan pasar domestik melainkan juga spesifikasi dan permintaan pasar mancanegara. Oleh sebab itu untuk tetap dapat mempertahankan kepuasan konsumen terhadap kualitas produk, salah satu upaya yang dapat digunakan meningkatkan jaminan kualitas perusahaan adalah dengan mengimplementasikan aktivitas quality assurance network. Abstract

The research has done at an automotive company. The intention of this research are to knowing the effect and also the advantages and disadvantages of Junbiki Method which is a new method in this company in increasing JIT(Just in Time), use of resources, and make comparison between Junbiki method and Kanban System. The research is done by comparing the Kanban system with the Junbiki method on the parts i.e. seat part and door trim. The measured variables are those in the period of September as the basic period, continued with the periods of October, November, and December 2004. The productivities to be observed are those of energy and labor consumption. The research proves that the Junbiki method is better than the Kanban system. It is shown from the increase of JIT performance during four periods at the average of 73% and least of resources. By using the Junbiki method, the wastage in the use of energy, labor, movement, and process can be eliminated. Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia : Penelitian ini dilakukan pada perusahaan yang bergerak di bidang otomotif. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh serta kelemahan dan kelebihan metode Junbiki yang merupakan metode baru yang diterapkan perusahaan terhadap peningkatan JIT (Just in Time) dan penggunaan sumber daya, dan membuat perbandingan antara metode Junbiki dan sistem Kanban. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan membandingkan sistem Kanban dengan metode Junbiki pada part yang memenuhi syarat, yaitu part seat dan door trim. Variable yang diukur adalah pada periode September sebagai periode dasar, dilanjutkan dengan periode Oktober, November, dan Desember 2004. Pemakaian sumber daya yang ingin diteliti adalah pemakaian energi dan tenaga kerja. Hasil penelitian membuktikan bahwa metode Junbiki lebih baik daripada sistem Kanban. Hal ini terlihat dari peningkatan perfoma JIT selama empat periode rata-rata sebesar 73% dan kebutuhan sumber daya yang lebih sedikit. Dengan metode Junbiki, pemborosan dalam pemakaian energi, tenaga kerja, gerakan, dan proses dapat dihilangkan. Kata kunci: Junbiki, Kanban, JIT, Sumber Daya.

Abstract

The success of supply chain implementation in producing manufactured product heavily relies on the development of CAD system, CAM system, and CNC machine tool. However, current CAD system, CAM system, and CNC machine tool have some weaknesses in supporting supply chain implementation. This paper presents an overview of STEP-NC and its role in supply chain of manufactured product. STEP-NC is a new interface standard for CAD-CAM-CNC chain, which is developed by International Standards Organization (ISO) to extend STEP model data to define data for NC machine tools. By using STEP-NC, the link of all information in supply chain of manufactured product will be more flexible, faster, easier, safer, and more reliable.

Abstract

The research discusses the quality control system in producing lamp filament. Meantime, the quality control system produces ahigh level of failure, 10-17%. The result of the identification revealed that the primary coil and double coil processes have the highest failure, ± 17%, and the main cause of rejection is the unflat coil. The research covers the development of attribute control chart (p chart), before and after implementations, development of control plans and documents needed, expert system program to investigate the root cause of the failure, proportional test and final result failure. The result of the implementation of suggestion, gives a significant decrease of failure and the average of failure level of the final product is average 5.74%. Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia : Penelitian ini membahas sistem pengendalian kualitas pada pembuatan lampu filamen. Sistem pengendalian kualitas yang berjalan sekarang menghasilkan kecacatan yang tinggi, 10-17%. Identifikasi yang telah dilakukan menunjukkan bahwa proses primary coil dan double coil memiliki tingkat kecacatan terbesar ± 17% dengan penyebab utama reject adalah coil tidak rata. Penelitian yang dilakukan meliputi pembuatan dan monitoring peta kendali atribut (p chart) baik awal dan akhir hasil implementasi usulan, pembuatan control plan, dokumen-dokumen terhadap pengendalian penyebab kecacatan utama, program expert system yang digunakan untuk penelusuran penyebab kecacatan, uji proporsi dan tingkat kecacatan akhir. Hasil implementasi usulan memberikan penurunan tingkat kecacatan yang signifikan terhadap penyebab kecacatan utama dan rata-rata tingkat kecacatan produk akhir sebesar 5,74%. Abstract

Bed active carbon is one of the most important materials that had great impact in determining level of impurities in production of CO2 gas. In this particular factory case, there is unavailability of standard duration time of heating and cooling and steam flow rate for the re-generation process of bed active carbon. The paper discusses the fuzzy inference system for modeling of re-generation process of bed active carbon to find the optimum setting parameter. The fuzzy inference system was build using real historical daily processing data. After validation process, surface plot analysis was performed to find the optimum setting. The result of re-generation parameter setting is 9-10 hours of heating process, 4.66-5.32 hours of cooling process, and 1500-2500 kg/hr of steam flow rate.

Abstract

This paper describes the application of Value Stream Mapping to identify the waste in cement-package industry on PT IHSG. The Value Stream Mapping is used to map the activity towards the company's supply chain with the result that the non-value adding activity could be identified. The result will be an important fundament for identifying the defect and time. The effort for identifying the company's improvement meet the problem priority and it has a significant impact so that the time and cost consuming could be avoided. Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia : Paper ini menggambarkan bagaimana aplikasi pemetaan aliran nilai dapat mengidentifikasi waste pada industri kemasan semen. Pemetaan aliran nilai digunakan untuk memetakan aktivitas pada rantai pasok perusahaan sehingga aktivitas yang tidak bernilai tambah dapat diketahui. Hasil pemetaan akan menjadi landasan penting didalam mengetahui cacat dan waktu tunggu. Upaya untuk mengidentifikasi perbaikan perusahaan sesuai dengan masalah prioritas yang ada dan memiliki dampak yang signifikan sehingga tidak terjadi pemborosan biaya dan waktu program perbaikan. Abstract

One of the service industries that grow faster than the others is insurance industry. Since there are a lot of companies that involved in this kind of industry, clients need to select a certain company that served the best service compared to the others. The objectives of this research are to determine the most important service dimension based on the customers' opinion, to measure customers' expected and perceived values of each service dimension, and to determine which company that provide the best services on each service dimension. This research used servqual method. The questionnaire was distributed to 260 clients of 10 well-known insurance industries in Surabaya. They were asked about five service dimensions, i.e.: tangible, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy. The result shows that the most important service dimension is empathy. The highest expected values is reliability. The service dimension which provide the best service is tangible. Generally there are no companies that exceed the customers' expected values Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia : Salah satu industri jasa yang sangat pesat pertumbuhannya adalah jasa asuransi. Memilih penyedia jasa asuransi yang tepat wajib dilakukan sekalipun bukan hal yang mudah. Hal ini disebabkan kewajiban nasabah sudah harus ditempuh, sementara manfaat asuransi baru diperoleh beberapa bulan atau tahun kemudian. Nasabah perlu mengetahui perusahaan asuransi mana yang memberikan layanan baik. Sementara perusahaan asuransi juga perlu mengetahui dimensi layanan apa saja yang dianggap penting oleh nasabah, serta harapan dan kepuasan nasabah untuk masing-masing dimensi layanan. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode service quality (servqual), terhadap 260 nasabah dari 10 perusahaan asuransi besar di Surabaya untuk lima dimensi layanan, yaitu tangible, reliability, responsiveness, assurance dan empathy. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan dimensi empathy yang tertinggi tingkat kepentingannya. Dimensi reliability menjadi dimensi dengan tingkat harapan terbesar. Dimensi dengan layanan terbaik adalah tangible. Secara keseluruhan masih terjadi gap antara harapan dan kepuasan responden. Kata kunci: Kualitas layanan, metode servqual, analisis gap.

Abstract

Most of enterprises got failed at the first step in implemented ERP. Based on cases study in furniture, consumer goods, and electronic company that already implemented the ERP; the failure happened when they tried to integrate the selling and production planning system and need relatively a long time for implementation. Based on experiences in the field, the successfully of the implementation, really depends on continuous improvement to match between ERP's system and real enterprises demand. Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia : Banyak perusahaan mengalami kegagalan pada saat awal mengimplementasikan enterprise resources planning (ERP). Berdasarkan studi kasus pada perusahaan furniture, consumer good dan elektronik yang telah mengimplementasikan ERP, kesulitan yang ditemui adalah dalam mengintegrasikan sistem penjualan dan perencanaan produksi, serta waktu implementasi yang relatif lama. Dari pengalaman di lapangan, keberhasilan implementasi ditentukan oleh perbaikan berkelanjutan untuk menyesuaikan antara sistem ERP dan kebutuhan rill perusahaan. Kata kunci: ERP, integrasi penjualan dan perencanaan produksi, furniture, consumer good, elektronik.
