Abstract

This paper deals with determination of ordering policy for perishable goods, namely joint order policy or individual order policy. Expiration date is an important factor to be considered in the inventory system, especially in chemical or food industry. The problem becomes more complicated when the company has more goods with different expired dates. Another factor that has an influence to the inventory system is the supplier discount factor. A company can get benefit from this factor in order to reduce a total cost of inventory. In this paper, performance’s criteria used for the selected policy is ordering policy that minimize the total cost of inventory by considering the expiration date and all unit discount.

Abstract

In some countries, character education has been conducted and became an integrated part of the education system since the early stage. Unfortunately character education in Indonesia has not been fully considered and integrated with formal education system yet. This article will review the importance of character education in formal education system. The review begins with the examples of benefit gained through the implementation of character education in some countries. This article also shows the effort done by the Industrial Engineering Department at Petra Christian University to design and implement an integrated and systematic character education's curriculum for its student. Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia : Pendidikan karakter di beberapa negara sudah mendapatkan prioritas sejak pendidikan dasar dimulai. Namun di Indonesia, pendidikan karakter masih dipandang sebagai wacana dan belum menjadi bagian yang terintegrasi dalam pendidikan formal. Artikel ini membahas tentang pentingnya pendidikan karakter dalam sistem pendidikan formal. Dimulai dengan melihat contoh manfaat pendidikan karakter di negara lain seperti Amerika dan Cina. Kemudian, dilanjutkan dengan usaha-usaha yang dilakukan oleh Jurusan Teknik Industri UK Petra untuk merancang pendidikan karakter yang sistematis dan terintegrasi dalam kurikulum bagi mahasiswa sebagai persiapan menuju ke dunia kerja. Usaha tersebut antara lain penetapan pendidikan karakter sebagai salah satu rencana strategis jurusan, penetapan tim, perancangan dan pelaksanaan program pendidikan karakter, evaluasi, serta usaha perbaikan terus menerus. Kata kunci: pendidikan karakter, perancangan dan pelaksanaan program.

Abstract

Today, inventory management issue has become a concern for a lot of organizations and it is the most necessary issues for organizations by production and inventory plan implementing. Among inventory models, models based on economic production quantity are of the most practical models. Each of the economic production quantity is based on set of para­me­ters that are estimated by experts and decision makers. Since uncertainty exists in real world, it is difficult for experts to estimate parameters, accurately. Therefore, in such situation, using economic production quantity under non-integer conditions would be more appropriate than the crisp conditions and also under such conditions organizations have to determine their cumu­la­tive production in their supply chain in fuzzy sense. In this paper, a multi-product economic production quantity (EPQ) model, under fuzzy conditions, has been fuzzified and optimized by using signed distance method in order to minimize all costs. a numerical example and sensitivity analysis have also provided to illustrate the practical use of the proposed method.

Abstract

In this paper we discuss some models for estimating the regression function, provided the data Y is given. The programming of these function are presented as well as the "tricks" in the R- programming, a statistical freeware. We applied these models to The Priest River Experimental Forest's data. Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia : Dalam paper ini akan diberikan beberapa model untuk mengestimasi fungsi regresi bila sebuah data Y diberikan. Pembuatan fungsi - fungsi estimasti tersebut juga diberikan dengan menggunakan freeware statistik R dan juga diberikan beberapa trik dalam pemrograman. Model-model ini diaplikasikan pada Priest River Experimental Forest's data. Kata kunci: regresi nonparametrik, smoothing, kernel, R.

Abstract

The national sugar production capability especially of the state owned sugar factory tends to decrease while demand increases.   To overcome the problem, government has issued the presidential Decree No. 5/2010 and declared a revitalization program of sugar industry as a priority development program. The Ministry of Industry has implemented the program by restructuring the sugar factory's machinery/equipments.  Since there are many of factories (51 units) and the budget is limited, the ministry should be selective as to which factories need to be restructered, and therefore the program shoud be supported by prior information about the machinery efficiency status of each factory. To provide those information,  this study applies the application of the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) method on 39 state owned sugar factories.  The results indicate that the everage rate of OEE for the 39 sugar factories for the year of 2010 to 2012 is 61.28% (best practice: 77.4%), while Availability, Performance, and Quality is 86.43%, 91.39%, and 77.02% respectively. The study also identifies 19 worst factories in efficiency, and therefore recommends those factories as priority to be restructured.

Abstract

Most products are sold in Mirota Campus Supermarkets have perishable nature. One of the strategies undertaken in product sales is by providing discounts on products approaching expiry date. The closer to the expiration date, then the discounts given per unit will increase. Allows product pemasoks can in returns with the terms and conditions agreed. In this paper, developed a model multi-item inventory for a product that has a shelf-life of taking into account discounts and product returns. Completion of the model is done with optimization approach based on parameters that influence in this model. Numerical examples are given at the end of this paper to illustrate the model settlement algorithms.

Abstract

This research discusses batch scheduling model accommodating the condition of machine deterioration. The proposed model has changed the formulation of quality cost from that discussed in Indrapriyatna et al. (2007a), especially in the internal and external failure costs. It is assumed that the distribution of time between out-of-control conditions follows the exponential distribution. An algorithm has been proposed. This research concludes that, for continue batch size, the greater the sample size proportion of the batch size, the greater the total cost and number of batches. In addition, the greater the probability of producing nonconforming products, the greater the total cost. For any values of the probability, the number of batches will be the same, but the batch sizes are different. On the other hand, for model with discrete batch sizes, we used Indrapriyatna et al. (2007b) approach to solve the problem. Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia: Penelitian ini membahas model penjadwalan batch yang mengakomodasikan kondisi mesin terdeteriorasi, yang akan menyebabkan produk menjadi nonconforming. Pengembangan ini mengubah formulasi biaya kualitas yang telah dirumuskan pada model Indrapriyatna et al. (2007a), khususnya untuk Biaya Kegagalan Internal dan Biaya Kegagalan Eksternal. Dalam model usulan, waktu antar kondisi out-of-control diasumsikan berdistribusi eksponensial. Sebuah algoritma penyelesaian dirancang untuk model usulan tersebut. Studi ini menunjukkan bahwa, untuk model dengan ukuran batch kontinu, semakin besar proporsi ukuran sampel menyebabkan biaya total dan jumlah batch yang semakin besar. Selain itu, semakin besar peluang produk nonconforming dihasilkan maka akan menyebabkan semakin besar total biaya. Observasi lain menunjukkan bahwa jumlah batch selalu sama untuk sebarang nilai peluang; walaupun ukuran masing-masing batch berbeda. Pada model dengan ukuran batch diskrit digunakan 3 buah metode untuk mengubah ukuran batch menjadi integer yang diusulkan oleh Indrapriyatna et al. (2007b) dan menghasilkan kesimpulan yang sama. Kata kunci: mesin terdeteriorasi, produk nonconforming, ukuran batch kontinu, ukuran batch diskrit.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to design a selection system for the journals subscribed by Petra Christian University Library. The designed selection system takes into account both technical and economical criteria. In applying the Multi Criteria Analysis in this research, a Multi Atribute Decision Making, that is the Analytic Hierarchy Process technique, is used. The total amount produced later becomes the objective function coefficient from the Binary Integer Linear Programming model with the constraints of the total available budget of the jurnal acquisition. Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia : Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk merancang suatu sistem seleksi jurnal yang akan dilanggan oleh perpustakaan Universitas Kristen Petra. Sistem seleksi yang dirancang memperhitungkan baik kriteria-kriteria teknis maupun ekonomis. Dalam melakukan analisis kriteria ganda ini digunakan suatu teknik Multi Atribute Decision Making, yaitu : teknik AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process). Bobot keseluruhan yang dihasilkan selanjutnya menjadi koefisien fungsi tujuan dari model Binary Integer Linear Programming dengan kendala jumlah anggaran pengadaan jurnal yang tersedia. Abstract

Masalah penjadwalan ruang operasi di rumah sakit merupakan masalah keragaman durasi operasi yang memerlukan penjadwalan untuk mengurangi tingkat kesibukan ruang operasi.  Masalah yang harus diselesaikan dalam penjadwalan ruang operasi adalah bagaimana menempatkan pasien ke dalam blok ruang operasi yang tersedia secara optimal untuk meminimumkan waktu tunggu pasien. Masalah ini dapat disajikan dalam sebagai masalah optimisasi dalam formulasi mixed integer linear programming (MILP). Pada prakteknya sering terjadi ketidaktentuan estimasi durasi operasi yang dapat mengakibatkan jadwal operasi tidak berjalan sesuai perencanaan awal, sehingga pasien tidak dapat dioperasi sesuai dengan waktu yang telah ditentukan. Dalam makalah ini dikaji pemodelan masalah optimisasi tak tentu dengan menggunakan teknik pemodelan Optimisasi Robust (OR) dalam hal mengatasi ketidaktentuan estimasi durasi operasi pada masalah penjadwalan ruang operasi rumah sakit. Dalam metodologi OR diperkenalkan Robust Counterpart (RC), dimana  tujuan utama yang ingin dicapai adalah menguji level robustness dengan cara menguji formulasi model robust counterpart yang dihasilkan apakah dapat direpresentasikan dalam jenis kelas masalah optimisasi yang dapat terjamin sebagai kelas masalah yang computationally tractable. Pemilihan jenis himpunan taktentu untuk merepresentasikan data taktentu yang terlibat dalam pemodelan sangat menentukan, untuk memastikan  apakah formulasi robust counterpart yang diperoleh merupakan masalah yang computationally tractable atau tidak. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa model RC yang diperoleh termasuk dalam kelas masalah yang computatioonally tractability, dalam hal ini model tak tentu dapat direpresentasikan dalam formulasi model optimisasi dalam bentuk linear programming (untuk box uncertainty set) dan conic quadratic programming (untuk ellipsoidal uncertainty set).

Abstract

Coordination among manufacturers, distributors and retailers is a key of success in supply chain management. Moreover, coordination is also needed in distributing product (managing inventory and transportation) from an echelon to its successive echelons. The transportation policy and inventory policy affect each others so the inventory and transportation policy should be integrated. This paper develops model of integrated inventory-transportation policies in 4-echelons supply chain systems that consist of a manufacturer, a distribution center, distributors and retailers. This model considers continuous production process as well as time-dependent demand. We consider direct and sharing shipping at distributor when we only consider direct shipping at manufacturer and distribution center. The production policy at the manufacturer, replenishment policies at the distribution center, distributors and retailers, and transportation policies at the manufacturer, distribution center and distributors will be determined in order to minimize system cost. The system cost consists of total costs at the manufacturer, distribution centers, distributors and retailers. Due to the model is classified as NP-hard model, the model is solved using genetic algorithm. From the result of genetic algorithm, the total system cost if the distributors who use sharing shipping as well as direct shipping, is lower stasitiscally than the distributors who only use direct shipping for delivering produk to their retailers. Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia: Koordinasi antar pabrik, distributor dan pengecer merupakan kunci keberhasilan dalam sistem rantai pasok. Koordinasi diperlukan saat pendistribusian produk (pengaturan persediaan dan transportasi) dari satu eselon ke eselon di bawahnya. Kebijakan transportasi mempengaruhi kebijakan persediaan dan sebaliknya oleh karena itu kedua kebijakan tersebut seharusnya ditetapkan secara terintegrasi. Paper ini mengembangkan model integrasi kebijakan persediaan-transportasi di sistem rantai pasok 4-eselon yang terdiri dari sebuah pabrik dengan proses produksi kontinu, sebuah gudang penyangga, multi distributor dan multi pengecer. Model ini mempertimbangkan permintaan yang bergantung pada waktu, pengiriman langsung di pabrik dan gudang penyangga serta pengiriman langsung dan berbagi di distributor. Paper ini menetapkan kebijakan produksi di pabrik, kebijakan pemesanan di gudang penyangga, distributor dan pengecer serta kebijakan transportasi di pabrik, gudang penyangga dan distributor untuk meminimumkan ongkos sistem. Ongkos sistem terdiri atas ongkos total di pabrik, gudang penyangga, distributor dan pengecer. Model yang dikembangkan termasuk dalam kategori NP-hard sehingga dikembangkan metode solusi yang berbasis pada algoritma genetika. Kesimpulan yang diperoleh dari hasil algoritma genetika menyatakan bahwa ongkos total sistem lebih kecil secara statistik jika pengiriman langsung dan berbagi dipergunakan di distributor dibandingkan hanya menggunakan pengiriman langsung.
