Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to analyze the Islamic values contained in the science textbooks for SMP/MTs for the formation of students' religious character. The research method used is library research using documentation in data collection and analyzed using content analysis (analyzing science learning materials scientifically and marking every Islamic values in the SMP/MTs science textbooks). Primary data sources are Science Textbooks for SMP/MTs, Al-Qur'an and Hadith of the Prophet SAW. The results of the study analyzed Islamic values which were grouped into the values of aqidah, shari'ah, and morals. The material in the science textbooks for SMP/MTs raises the value of aqidah, namely after studying the science material, the more they believe in the existence of Allah swt. studying the natural sciences allows students to behave as God has commanded them to be guardians on earth. So that by instilling Islamic values in science learning can form students with religious character in accordance with the mandate of national education goals. Keywords: Islamic values, science teaching materials, religious character. ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis nilai-nilai keislaman yang terdapat dalam materi buku Ajar IPA SMP/MTs untuk pembentukan karakter religius siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kepustakaan dengan menggunakan dokumentasi dalam pengumpulan data serta dianalisis menggunakan content analysis (menganalisis secara ilmiah materi pembelajaran IPA dan menandai setiap nilai-nilai keislaman yang ada dalam Buku Ajar IPA SMP/MTs). Sumber data primer adalah buku ajar IPA SMP/MTs, Al-Qur’an dan Hadits Nabi SAW. Hasil penelitian menganalisis nilai keislaman yang dikelompokkan dalam nilai aqidah, syari’ah, dan akhlak. Materi dalam buku ajar IPA SMP/MTs memunculkan nilai aqidah yaitu setelah mempelajari materi IPA makin menyakini akan keberadaan Allah swt., nilai syari’ah yaitu setelah mempelajari materi IPA menjadikan siswa semakin yakin akan ketentuan yanng dibuat oleh Allah swt, dan nilai akhlak yaitu setelah mempelajari metari IPA menjadikan siswa dapat berperilaku sebagaimana yang Allah perintahkan untuk menjadi penjaga di muka bumi. Sehingga dengan menanamkan nilai-nilai keislaman dalam pembelajaran IPA dapat membentuk siswa yang berkarakter religius sesuai dengan amanah tujuan pendidikan nasional.    Kata Kunci: nilai keislaman, materi ajar IPA, karakter religius.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis research aims to find out the ethnoscience knowledge profile of biology teachers at Pekanbaru City State High School and the obstacles faced by biology teachers in implementing ethnoscience in learning. This study is a survey study at Pekanbaru City State High School using google form-based questionnaires and online interviews. The research population is a biology teacher who teaches at Pekanbaru City State High School with a sample of 40% of biology teachers taken randomly simply. The data is analyzed with descriptive percentage techniques.  The results showed that 27.30% of teachers knew ethnoscience concepts, 63.60% were unaware and 9.10% did not know.  Ethnoscience implementation in learning is carried out by 22.70% in a planned manner, 36.40 unplanned and 40.90% never implies ethnoscience. 27.70% felt the lack of application of curriculum demands became an obstacle in ethnoscience implentation, 63.60% of teachers lacked understanding in integrating, 13.60% felt due to environmental constraints. 60% of teachers say important ethnoscience is implemented in learning, 30% is less important and 10% of teachers feel unimportant. Thus it can be concluded that in general teachers are less aware of ethnoscience concepts and never apply because they lack understanding of integrating, whereas important ethnoscience is implemented.Keywords: ethnoscience, teacher, biologyABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui profil pengetahuan etnosains guru biologi di SMA Negeri se Kota Pekanbaru  dan kendala yang dihadapi guru  biologi dalam mengimplementasikan etnosains dalam pembelajaran. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian survei di SMA Negeri Se Kota Pekanbaru menggunakan angket berbasis google form dan wawancara online. Populasi penelitian merupakan guru biologi yang mengajar di SMA Negeri se Kota Pekanbaru dengan sampel 40 % guru biologi yang diambil secara acakmsederhana. Data dianalisis dengan teknik deskriptif persentase.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 27,30% guru  mengetahui konsep etnosains, 63,60% kurang mengetahui dan 9,10% tidak mengetahui.  Implementasi etnosains dalam pemeblajaran dilakukan oleh 22,70% secara terencana, 36,40& tidak terencana dan 40,90% tidak pernah mengimplentasikan etnosains. 27,70% merasa kurang ekplisitnya tuntutan kurikulum menjadi kendala dalam implentasi etnosains, 63,60% guru kurang paham dalam mengintegrasikan, 13,60% merasa karena kendala lingkungan. 60% guru menyatakan etnosains penting diimplementasikan dalam pembelajaran, 30% kurang penting dan 10% guru measa tidak penting. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa secara umum guru kurang mengetahui konsep etnosains dan tidak pernah penerapkan karena kurang paham mengintegrasikan, padahal etnosains penting diimplementasikan.Kata kunci: etnosains, guru, biologi

Abstract

ABSTRACTAl-Quran integration in chemistry, especially Hydrocarbons and Petroleum materials can be done. This research is a literature study, using a qualitative descriptive method using incident data that is explained argumentatively and narrative. Hydrocarbons are chemical compounds found in the body of living things, consisting of the elements H, C, O and several other elements, these are found in QS. Ar Rahman verse 14, QS. Al Hijr: verse 28, QS. Ash Shaffaat: verse 11, QS. Ali Imran: verse 59. The process of forming petroleum is contained in QS. Al-A'la verses 4-5. Integration can also be done by studying the values of life contained in hydrocarbon materials. The results of the study are as follows (1) To be grateful in the Al Quran there are signs for chemistry. (2) Reproducing the unique concept of carbon atoms in life.Keywords: hydrocarbons, petroleum, al quran, integration, and chemistry    ABSTRAK Integrasi Al Quran dalam ilmu kimia terutama materi hidrokarbon dan minyak bumi dapat dilakukan. Penelitian ini merupakan studi kepustakaan, menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan menggunakan data peristiwa yang dijelaskan secara argumentatif dan naratif.  Hidrokarbon merupakan senyawa kimia yang terdapat di dalam tubuh mahluk hidup yang terditi dari unsur H, C, O dan beberapan unsur lain hal ini terdapat dalam QS. Ar Rahman ayat 14, QS. Al Hijr: ayat 28, QS. Ash Shaffaat: ayat 11, QS. Ali Imran: ayat 59. Proses pembentukan minyak bumi terdapat dalam QS. Al-A’la ayat 4-5. Integrasi juga dapat dilakukan dengan kajian nilai-nilai kehidupan yang terdapat dalam materi hidrokarbon. Hasil kajian yaitu sebagai berikut (1) Mensyukuri di dalam Al Quran terdapat tanda-tanda untuk ilmu kimia. (2) Merupakan konsep kekhasan atom karbon dalam kehidupan sehari-hari.   Kata kunci: hidrokarbon, minyak bumi, al quran, integrasi, dan ilmu kimia

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe role of learning media becomes very important in the period of distance learning to connect educators with learners. Therefore, the selection and use of learning media when Learning from Home (BDR) takes place will have an impact on the learning process that occurs. One of the practical and easy to use multimedia for BDR is Digital Storytelling. This article will present the results of research that produces digital storytelling of physics (DiSPhy) learning media that is equipped with science literacy and STEM projects. This research was conducted by the Research & Development (R&D) method which refers to the ASSURE steps. The resulting DiSPhy is tested directly to educators and learners using likert-scale questionnaire instruments. This research succeeded in producing digital learning media products in the form of DiSPhy equipped with decent science literacy as a medium of distance learning physics.Keywords: digital storytelling of physics, science literacy, learning from homeABSTRAK Peran media pembelajaran menjadi sangat penting pada masa pembelajaran jarak jauh untuk menghubungkan pendidik dengan peserta didik. Oleh karenanya, pemilihan dan penggunaan media pembelajaran saat Belajar dari Rumah (BDR) berlangsung akan berdampak pada proses pembelajaran yang terjadi. Salah satu multimedia yang praktis dan mudah digunakan untuk BDR adalah Digital Storytelling. Artikel ini akan memaparkan hasil penelitian yang menghasilkan media pembelajaran Digital Storytelling of Physics (DiSPhy) yang dilengkapi soal literasi sains dan proyek STEM. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode Research & Development (R&D) yang mengacu pada langkah-langkah ASSURE. DiSPhy yang dihasilkan diuji secara langsung kepada pendidik dan peserta didik dengan menggunakan instrumen angket skala likert. Penelitian ini berhasil menghasilkan produk media pembelajaran digital berupa DiSPhy dilengkapi dengan soal literasi sains yang sangat layak sebagai media pembelajaran jarak jauh fisika.Kata kunci: digital storytelling of physics, literasi sains, belajar dari rumah

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe buzz group discussion technique is a structured, effective, and requires students to be active in learning. This study is aimed at learning how the use of the discovery learning method with a buzz group technique has affected students' rational thinking skills. The research used experimental quasi methods for noninvasive control group design. Sample retrieval techniques using sample control techniques, classroom VIIII SMPN 1 Jenangan is taken in two classes the VIII C class (control) and the VIII D (experiment), the instrument of his research is a series of observations and tests to measure the reliability of rational thinking skills. The study uses only a post test as an instrument in data collection. Based on analysis of the independent test data analysis using minitab 16, the calculated t value of 8.68, the df value of 61 and the P Value of 0.000, then the P Value 0.000 <0.05. Based on the results of the research and discussion, it can be stated that there is an influence of the use of discovery learning methods with the buzz group technique on students' rational thinking skills.Keywords: discovery learning, buzz group, discussion, skills, rational thinkingABSTRAK Teknik diskusi Buzz Group adalah teknik diskusi yang terstruktur, efektif, dan menuntut siswa untuk aktif dalam pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan metode discovery learning dengan teknik Buzz group terhadap keterampilan berpikir rasional siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Quasi Eksperimental jenis Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik menentukan sampel, kelas VIII di SMPN 1 Jenangan diambil dua kelas yaitu kelas VIII C (kontrol) dan VIII D (eksperimen). Instrumen penelitiannya lembar observasi dan tes untuk mengukur kemammpuan keterampilan berpikir rasional. Penelitian ini hanya menggunakan post test sebagai instrumen dalam pengumpulan data. Berdasarkan hasil pembahasan analisis data uji independent T test dengan menggunakan minitab 16, nilai t hitung sebesar 8,68, nilai df sebesar 61 dan P Value sebesar 0,000, maka P Value 0,000 < 0,05. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dan pembahasan tersebut, maka dapat dinyatakan bahwa terdapat pengaruh penggunaan metode discovery learning dengan teknik buzz group terhadap keterampilan berpikir rasional siswa.Kata kunci: discovery learning, buzz group, diskusi, keterampilan, berpikir rasional.

Abstract

The present study was carried out to produce a product in the form of e-module guidelines of basic physics practicum developed using the SIGIL application to practice students' science process skills during the covid-19 pandemic. This research-based paper was conducted through ADDIE model, which consisted of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. In the analysis phase, a needs analysis of questionnaire was conducted to determine the need for e-modules for practitioners and practicum assistants. During the design stage, a preliminary design is made in the form of the structure or content of the e-module, practicum titles, and their layout. Furthermore, in the development stage, the e-module has been developed using the SIGIL application by inserting a practical tutorial video based on a scientific approach and has been assessed with an average score of 3.82 considered Very Good. The implementation was carried out by giving the developed e-module to 20 students who took the basic physics practicum course. After using e-modules for 4 practicum titles, students are given a posttest of science process skills. Based on the posttest results, students received an average score of science process skills of 83.94 considered Skilled category. In addition to data on the score of science process skills, at this stage data on student responses to e-modules were also obtained using responses from questionnaires. The results disclosed that the developed e-module addressed a positive perception with an average response score of 89 considered Very Good. In the last evaluation stage, it was therefore argued that the e-module of basic physics practicum using SIGIL application was concluded appropriate to use on practicing students' science process skills during the Covid-19 pandemic.Keywords: e-module guidelines, basic physics practicum, science process skills.

Abstract

The present study is the initial stage; an analysis phase, which aimed to identify suitability and the need of the module development for pre-university students. The module will be developed based on two main elements: Innovation and Chemical Entrepreneurship (CEP). Using ADDIE instructional model, through analysis phase, the suitability, and the need for the module development, are identified through three collected data: (a) module of suitability in semi-structured interview, (b) student need analysis questionnaire, and (c) module of need analysis questionnaire. Five experts in STEM, Chemistry, innovation, and entrepreneurship area are interviewed to collect data (a) and will give the suitability and arrangement of the module content. Whereas the data survey (b) is collected from 60 pre-university students through random sampling from a college in Penang, Malaysia, and data survey for (c) is collected from all 40 Chemistry Lecturers. The qualitative interview is necessary to confirm the suitability of the main elements; innovation and Chemical Entrepreneurship in the module, while the quantitative data from two surveys; (b) and (c) give confirmation on components and requirements for the development of the modules from the students and the lecturers perspective. Data analysis for (a) was performed by using ATLAS.ti Version 22, whereas data analysis for (b) and (c) was performed through descriptive statistics. The qualitative data obtained from (a) confirmed the suitability of innovation and Chemical Entrepreneurship elements to be integrated into the learning module for pre-university, and the quantitative data from (b) and (c) successfully listed main components to be included in the module, such as learning outcomes, enhancement activities and reflections. Abstract

This study aims to develop Augmented Reality Integration Hydrometereology (TARIH) technology as a learning media solution for disaster management from an early warning to the effects of land subsidence. The research method used in this study is the Model ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate). The chosen subjects of the current study were 69 physics teacher candidates aged 21-23 years at a university in Jakarta and Banten, Indonesia. Based on reliability tests obtained in this line of research, the findings disclosed that the response to the application of TARIH as media in hydrometereology learning, the reliability of the System Quality aspect was 0.69 and the mean was 4.43. Most importantly, the reliability of the information quality aspect was 0.43 and the mean was 4.39 and the reliability of the service quality aspect was 0.74 and the mean was 4.45. Based on results obtained in this line of research, the study indicated that TARIH media can be used as a learning media solution in Disaster Management from an early warning.Keywords: technology augmented reality integration hydrometeorology (TARIH), learning media, disaster learning media, physics teacher candidate.

Abstract

The current research seeks to develop and assess the feasibility of puzzles for chemical laboratory glassware integrated with Islam as a learning medium. Conducted through research and development (R&D) method with a 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate), the present project was limited to the Develop stage. The chosen product was a puzzle of chemical laboratory equipment integrated with Islam as a learning medium. The puzzle was applied to 41 students of the chemistry education study program of UIN Sunan Kalijaga who joined laboratory management course. The assessment of the puzzle performance includes ten aspects with 32 indicators. The data obtained was in the form of qualitative and was subsequently tabulated and analyzed using the criteria for the ideal assessment category to determine the quality of the puzzle media. The developed media has a very-good quality according to the assessment among 41 students. The media obtained a score of 142.63 out of a maximum score of 160 and an ideal percentage of 89.15%. The findings disclosed that the developed media is suitable for use as a supporting learning resource for students to understand chemical glassware.Keywords: puzzle learning media; laboratory tools; integration of science and Islam

Abstract

The present study was carried out to assess the effectiveness of animated instructional media on academic performance and retention of genetic concepts among senior secondary school on biology students in Sokoto State. Adopted through Quasi Experimental design involving pre-test, post-test and post-posttest on two equivalent groups as experimental and control, the population on the study was 10148 SS III Biology students. In this regard, four intact classes were chosen with sample size of 238 SSIII students. Genetic Concept Performance and Retention Test (GCPRT) was the instrument used for data collection. Animated Instruction Media was used as instructional material to teach the experimental group while demonstration method was used to teach the control group. Independent sample t-test was used to test the four (4) hypotheses formulated in the study. The esults obtained in this line of research revealed that there was a significant difference in the academic performance and retention ability between students taught using Animated Instructional Material and those taught using demonstration method. It was therefore recommended for other senior secondary school teachers to harness the considerable benefits of technology, particularly animations, in teaching genetics and other related concepts.Keywords: animated, media, academic performance, retention.
