Abstract

The use of plastic can cause environmental pollution and risk the health of consumers. One of ways to solve this problem is the use of biodegradable packaging food is that edible film. Raw material for preparing edible film can be derived from starch, one of them is Breadfruit starch. Edible film can protect the packaged product of the oxidation process by adding orange skin extract. This research aimed at knowing physical and chemical characteristics of edible film of breadfruit starch with the addition of orange skin extract and the implementation of the source of student learning on Polymer material. Edible film was prepared from breadfruit starch with variation by adding 0, 2, 4 and 6 grs orange skin extract. Physical analysis was tested by using Water Vapor Transmission Rate and chemical analysis was tested by using Water Content and Antioxidant Activity Tests. Research findings showed that along with increasing the composition of orange skin extract, edible film was impairing of water vapor transmission rate, and increasing of water levels and antioxidant activity. Research product appropriateness of preparing edible film of Breadfruit starch with the addition of orange skin extract as the source of student learning on Polymer material was on the category of good (88.33%).Keywords: Edible Film, Starch, Breadfruit, Extract, Orange Skin

Abstract

AbstrakMeningkatnya penggunaan plastik diikuti dengan besarnya kepedulian terhadap isu lingkungan mengenai pembuangan produk plastik sintetis yang sulit terurai. Salah satu alternatif untuk mengatasinya adalah dengan memodifikasi plastik agar bersifat biodegradabel. Plastik biodegradabel (plastik ramah lingkungan) dirancang mampu terdekomposisi di alam. Tingkat di biodegradasi yang terjadi tergantung pada kondisi tanah seperti suhu, kadar air, tingkat aerasi, keasaman dan konsentrasi mikroorganisme sendiri. Berdasarkan hal diatas, maka dilakukan penelitian dengan tujuan mengetahui efektifitas penguraian plastik ramah lingkungan dengan metode pengomposan dalam tanah gambut (TG) dan tanah sampah, serta faktor pH. Dari hasil penelitian kami mendapatkan bahwa pada semua perlakuan uji pada hari ke-20 sampai hari ke-60 terjadi peningkatan persentase penurunan berat plastik ecoplas dan oxium. Sedangkan persentase perubahan berat plastik terbesar dari proses biodegradasi terhadap semua perlakuan uji adalah pada  TG3pada hari ke-60 yaitu 0,45%. Secara umum, jika pH tanah dibuat semakin asam, maka menyebabkan penguraian plastik semakin bertambah.Kata Kunci : Plastik, Mikroorganisme tanah, lahan gambut.

Abstract

This research aimed at seeing the appropriateness of the instructional media Power Point based.  The early stage conducted was seeing the basic competence that needed the instructional media adapted to the syllabus of Vocational High School of Pharmacy Pekanbaru.  The material was Adsorption material that was on the basic competence of 1.2, it was about understanding the adsorption process.  After adjusting the material, applied research of biosorption of Cd2+ metal ion using Kecombrangtrunk on various pH 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 that was analyzed by AAS was conducted.  The optimum pH obtained was on pH 5 with 80.73% adsorption.  The next step was preparing the instructional media Power Point based that was assessed by material and media experts.  The result of material expert assessment showed their strong agreements and there was no revision with 82% percentage.  The next step was testing 4 Chemistry teachers at Vocational High School of Pharmacy Pekanbaru.  It showed the agreement and no revision with 79.75% percentage.  It meant that the chemistry instructional media Power Point based could be a learning resource.Keywords:      Learning Resources, Instructional Media Power Point Based, Kecombrang,Cadmium, Adsorption.

Abstract

Research on new university student misconceptions about bond in NaCl compounds has been done to identify possible misconceptions. Student misconceptions are observed using a misconception analysis instrument consisting of statements accompanied by right and wrong choices and open reasons. Based on the analysis of the instrument that has been done found that the students experience the concept of ionic bonding in the compound NaCl. Students experience misconceptions why NaCl is an ionic compound. In addition, misconceptions are also found about the physical properties of the associated NaCl compounds, ie students believe that NaCl is a compound with a brittle bond and no breaking of bonds in NaCl solution and NaCl has electrolyte properties in solid phase.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis study aims to determine the factors inhibiting the implementation of the 2013 curriculum, and to know what efforts in overcoming obstacles implementation of the 2013 curriculum.This research is a type of qualitative research with descriptive approach that takes the background of SMKN 1 Teluk Kuantan. Sampling refers to the technique of Purposive sampling with Respondents consisting of Chemistry Teachers, the representative curriculum. Curriculum and students of class X. Data collection is done by conducting interviews, participant observation, documentation and questionnaire. Data analysis is done by choosing, simplifying and transforming rough data that emerges from the written records in the field, so that it becomes more focused in accordance with the object of research. After the data analysis done then draw conclusions. Data validity is done by triangulation method with triangulation model of source and triangulation technique.The results show that the barriers that occur is the determination of KBM is sometimes difficult due to lack of labor and the lack of student interest makes it difficult to develop teaching materials oriented student center. Efforts to overcome this is the need for the availability of facilities and infrastructure such as the completeness of tools and practical materials and the addition of training curriculum 2013 in order to develop teaching materials oriented student center. Implementation of the 2013 curriculum in the implementation of learning, teachers have run the 2013 curriculum although sometimes do not adjust to the syllabus and RPP. Obstacles that occur is the method of learning approaches such as PBL, PBL is still difficult to implement because students have less literature and experience. Efforts are made teachers do various methods approach to create an active learning atmosphere and not saturate for learners, so they are more active in digging information. Implementation of the 2013 curriculum in the evaluation system, evaluation techniques used are formative and summative tests. The hindrance that occurs is that psychomotor assessment is rather difficult to do because there is rarely any practice in KBM. Efforts are made teachers classify learners in learning activities, assisted by individual assessments between friends, collaboration assessment with other teachers and the addition of tasks. Abstract

AbstractPolymer is one of Chemistry materials that wasvery closely related in the daily life, but a learning resource on that material at Senior High School is limited.  Thus, a learning resource contextual based such video is needed to be developed.This research aimed at developing a valid and practical learning resource such video based onpreparing edible film of durian seed starch with the addition of basil leave extract and knowing chemistry and physic characteristics of edible film.This research was a Research and Development (R&D) with 4D (four-D) model, modified by doing limited trialsand removing disseminating step.  In the Design step, laboratory research plan of preparing edible film of durian seed starch with the addition of basil leave extract.  Based on the validity test, developing video was stated on valid category with 74.33% percentage of validity level.  Based on the practicality test, developing video was stated on very practicalcategory with 82% percentage of practicality level.  The best edible film was on 2 graddition of basil leave extract, physic characteristic ofwater vapor transmission rate was 3.401361 g/m2.24 hours, chemistry characteristic of water content was 14% on edible film withoutthe addition of basil leave extract, and the strongest antioxidant activity was 3.4366 µg/mL onediblefilm with 2 graddition of basil leave extract.Keywords: Learning Resource, Edible Film, Polymer

Abstract

AbstractThis research is prompted by students’ low learning outcomes. One of the ways that can be performed to increase students’ learning outcomes is Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) learning method by using virtual laboratory. This research is aimed at looking at the effect of STAD learning method by using virtual laboratory toward students’ learning outcomes in Redox Reaction material of grade 10 students at State Senior High School 1 Mandau. This research is a quasi-experiment research by using Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design with two sample classes: Class X 3 as experiment research and Class X 4 as control class. In this research, the meeting was conducted for four times. The techniques of collecting the data in this research are Homogeneity test as initial data, Pretest and Posttest as final data, Interview, and Documentation. Initial and final data are analyzed by using t-test. This research shows that there are some differences on students’ learning outcomes between experiment class and control class. Final data analysis generates the value of tcounting = 2.8904 and ttable = 1.9983 that shows tcounting > ttable. As Ho is rejected, it can be concluded that there is an effect of applying STAD learning method by using virtual laboratory toward students’ learning outcomes which is as much as 11.70%.Keywords: STAD, virtual laboratory, redox reaction

Abstract

Abstract This research was instigated by the low achievement on Atomic Structure material of X grade students at State Agricultural Integrated Vocational High School in the Academic Year of 2015/2016. This research was an experiment. This research aimed at knowing how the effect of using Somatic Auditory Visualization Intellectually (SAVI) learning model with Interactive CD about Atomic Structure toward  students’ Achievements was. The research design was using pretest and posttest. The sample technique of this research was Simple Random Sampling. X ATPH 1 was the experimental group and X ATPH 2 was the control group. The techniques of collecting data were by measuring the homogeneity test as the preliminary data in the previous material (introduction to chemistry), Interview, documentation, observation, pretest and posttest as the final data. The data were analyzed by using T-test formula. The final calculation state that tobserved  2,401 was higher than ttable 2,00 at 5% significant level. It revealed that H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted. The research findings showed that (1) Somatic Auditory Visualization Intellectually (SAVI) Learning Model with Interactive CD about Atomic Structure  Influenced Students’ Achievement, (2) the influence of using Somatic Auditory Visualization Intellectually (SAVI) Learning Model with Interactive CD about Atomic Structure  Influenced Students’ Achievement was 7,7%. Keywords: Cooperative Learning Model, Achievements, Somatic Auditory Visualization Intellectually (SAVI), Interactive CD, Atomic Structure.

Abstract

AbstractHuman needs on fossil fuels is increasing, but the source is limited.  Thus, a renewable alternative source is needed.  One of them is Biomass.  Biomass fuel can be in the form of bio-briquette. Bio-briquette utilization as fuel is based on the carbon content contained in Biomass such as peat and bagasse.  This research aimed at knowing bio-briquette quality as fuel and learning source at senior high school.  Bio-briquette prepared with variation of peat and bagasse mass composition were 40: 0, 30: 10, 20: 20, 10: 30, 0: 40 (g: g).  Bio-briquette was made by using 20 g adhesive kanji.  Bio-briquette quality tested was done by testing the water content, ash content, volatile matter, fixed carbon, calorific value, and duration of flame.  Bio-briquette the best quality is the mass variation of G 10g: 30g AT with water content of 3.93%, ash content of 6.33%, volatile matter of 46.60%, fixed carbon of 43.14%, calorific  value of 5986 cal / g , duration of flame 210 minutes and the mass variation 0g G: 40g AT with water content of 2.33%, ash content of 3.83%, volatile matter of 49.47%, calorific value of 6198 cal / g, duration of flame 250 minutes. Preparing bio-briquette of peat and bagasse as learning source on chemistry material and its implementation was on the category of good (93.33%). Keywords: Bio-briquette, Peat, Bagasse, Quality test

Abstract

Abstract This research was an experiment—instigated by the lack of students’ activeness in the teaching learning process. This research aimed at informing that Predict Observe Explain (POE) learning model effected students’ Chemistry learning activity on Electrolyte and Non-Electrolyte Solution material at State Islamic Senior High School of Kuok.  The samples were 29 students of class X.1 (Experimental group) and 31 students of class X.3 (Control group). Interview, normality test of observation sheets, and documentation were the techniques of collecting the data.  T-test was used to analyze the data. Based on the data analysis, tobserved was 2.200 and ttable was 2.00 (tobserved ≥ ttable). It revealed that Ho was rejected. In other words, it showed that there was students’ Chemistry learning activity enhancement on Electrolyte and Non-Electrolyte Solution material at State Islamic Senior High School of Kuok.
