Abstract

Learning is closely associated in determining student learning outcomes. In the process of teaching and learning, teachers have an important role in the achievement of learning goals. One indicator of achievement learning goals can be seen from the results of student learning outcomes. Teachers belonging to the environmental conditions or climate. Student’s perceptions of classroom climate greatly affect student learning outcomes. The purpose of this research was to determine differences in biology of learning outcomes based on student’s perceptions of classroom climate (Classroom Environment Scale/CES). This research was held in 1 High School Jakarta on April-May 2016. This type of research was quantitative with ex post facto method through comparative studies. The subjects of research were students of class X IPA with a total sample of 54 students were selected by Simple Random Sampling. Data collection techniques by using achievement test biological and Classroom Environment Scale (CES). The analysis prerequisite test was used the test for normality with the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test and homogeneity test with F-test. Based on the calculations, data were normally distributed and homogeneous. Hypothesis testing was done through t-test. The results of the t-test for biology learning outcomes shows that there was differences between biology learning outcomes both positive and negative student’s perceptions of classroom climate (Classroom Environment Scale/CES).

Abstract

Persistence refers to the length of time a person sticks with a given action. This can be seen from staying power of behavior or how long a person will continue to devote effort. The purpose of this research was to determained the relationship between persistence with biology learning outcomes of students of Sains grade X on ecosystem material. The research was accomplished at 102 Senior High School of Jakarta in April-May 2016. The method of this research used survey method through correlational study. The subject of this research were students of Sains grade X with sample of 75 students were selected by simple random sampling. Results of the normality data tested by Kolmogorov Smirnov test, resulting that two data population normality distributed. Data homogenity tested by Bartlett test resulting data obtained from the two homogeneous variable. Hypothesis test using regression test, found that the regression model Ŷ = 2.547 + 0.208X had a significant and linier relationship. The result of Pearson Product Moment test was correlation value obtained 0.87. The calculation of the determination coefficient obtained 0.7569. It was that 75.69% of persistence contributed to the biology learning outcomes on ecosystem material while 24.31% was determined by other factors.

Abstract

The number of cases on the environmental damage shows low concern for the environment. Environment awareness can be improved through scouting extracurricular activities carried out in each school as an educational institution. Scouting teaches lot of value, such us leadership, togetherness, social, love of nature, and independence. The aim of this research was to know correlation level of student’s participation in scouting extracurricular with the attitude of environmental awareness. This research was conducted at Senior High School 88 Jakarta on May 2016. The method used was a correlational descriptive. Samples were selected by Purposive Random Sampling of 91 students. Prerequisite test showed that data were normal and homogeneous. Regression model showed that Ŷ=5.621+0.390X. The correlation coefficient obtained was 0.544, which means there is a correlation between student’s participation in scout extracurricular with the attitude of environmental awareness.

Abstract

Participation of waste bank management is the involvement of physical, mental, and emotional a person to participate actively, contributing, and responsible for the group's goal, in this case the waste bank management activities. One of the factor which participation of ‘Gawe Rukun’ Waste Bank management affect is perception. The purpose of this research was to determine the correlation between housewife’s perception about waste bank and participation of ‘Gawe Rukun’ Waste Bank management. This research was held in RW 01, Kelurahan Kunciran Indah, Tangerang City on April to May 2016. The method used was survey method with correlational study. The sample of this research 151 housewife’s were selected by using simple random sampling. The prerequisite test showed that the data was normal and homogen. Hypothesis test using linear regression test and simple correlation. Regression model obtained Ŷ = 92.511 + 0.737X had a significant and linear correlation. The coefficient of correlation obtained was 0.7502, which means there was a positive relationship between housewife’s perception about waste bank and participation of ‘Gawe Rukun’ Waste Bank management. The coefficient of determination obtained was 0.5628, which means housewife’s perception about waste bank contributed 56.28% to the participation of ‘Gawe Rukun’ Waste Bank management.

Abstract

The aim of the research was to analyze the effect of the application of Active, Joyful and Effective Learning (AJEL) to environmentally care attitude of students in X grade of 33 Senior High School of Jakarta. Sample was collected by a cluster random sampling technique with one experimental class, namely class X-Science 1, whereas X-Science 3 as control class with a total sample of 62. This study was a Quasi Experimental Method with Non-Randomized Control Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Components of learning model that reflects the Active, Joyful and Effective Learning (AJEL) that used in this research was time token, gallery walk, and outdoor learning. After doing normality test (Kolmogorov Smirnov Test) and homogeneous test (Fisher Test), known that data had normal distribution and homogeneous. Increase in environmentally care attitude measured use N-Gain test. Result of the test are, in experimental class, N-Gain score is 52,8 which includes into middle increased categories. In control class, N-Gain score is 24,8 which includes into low increased categories. Result of calculation hypothesis test (t-test) indicated there was an effect of the application of Active, Joyful and Effective Learning (AJEL) to environmentally care attitude of students.

Abstract

Paludarium is one the art of landscape design in a container with visualizing terrestrial ecosystem, aquatic ecosystem, and air ecosystem, so looks like a real in nature. Paludarium can be potential as a media of learning ecosytem. The aims of this research was to develop paludarium as Biology learning media on the subject of ecosystem and know the feasibility of paludarium as learning media. The research was held at Senior High School 38 Jakarta with using research and development method. Analysis of potential and problems, paludarium design, validation design, paludarium revision, paludarium try out were the steps in the research. Paludarium received the average score was 84,2% that achieved good interpretation. The average value to limited field try out (36 students) of the test after using paludarium was 82.77. The average value to wide scale field try out (72 students) of the test after using paludarium was 83.54. The mastery of classical learning to limited field try out after using paludarium was 97.2% and to wide scale field try out after using paludarium was 81.9%. The result of this research showed that the paludarium could be utilized as one of Biology learning media on the subject of ecosytem at senior high school.

Abstract

Achievement of learning process can be seen from student cognitive learning outcome. Learning model plays an important role in student cognitive learning achievement. The introduction and implementation of Peer Instruction Flip model and Flipped Classroom are expected to increase the cognitive learning outcomes of students. The research was conducted in SMAN 6 Tangerang on Mei-Juni 2015. The reseach method used was a quasi experiment. The research sample used was XI MIA 1 (Peer Instruction Flip model) and XI MIA 3 (Flipped Classroom model) and XI MIA 2 (STAD model) who collected by Simple Random Sampling. Prerequisite test analysis of normality was the Kolmogorov-Smirnov and homogeneity test with the Bartlett test. Based on calculation, data obtained was normally distributes and homogeneously. The statistical hypothesis with Anava one way test result on rejected null hypothesis at α 0,05. It can be concluded that there was effect of Peer Instruction Flip and Flipped Classroom learning model toward student cognitive learning outcome in Excretory System material.

Abstract

Analytical thinking skills needed for students in solving problems encountered when learning topic are quite difficult and requires analysis of the issue. Learn to use Learning Start with a Question (LSQ) can help optimize student’s analytical thinking skills. Learning Start with a Question (LSQ) involving active students to seek out and study topic that will be taught. Students learn to solve their own problems in groups and cooperate with each other. Nervous system topic requires analysis of the relationship between the constituent organ tissue structure and associate them with the mechanisms and function disorders that occur in the nervous system topic. This study aimed to determine about effect of Learning Start with a Question (LSQ) on student’s analytical thinking in nervous system topic. The research was conducted in SMAN 33 Jakarta on March 2016. The reseach method used was a quasi experiment with Post Test Only Control Group Design. Subjects in this research were XI IPA 3 as experimental class and XI IPA 4 as control class. A total sample of 64 student was selected by simple random sampling technique. The instrumen used analytical thinking test was essay. Based the calculation, the average value of the test thinking analysis of the experimental class is 84 and the average value of the test thinking analysis of the control class is 82. Based on calculation, prerequisite test analysis data obtained was not normally distributes but homogeneous. The statistical hypothesis with Mann-Whitney test result on accepted null hypothesis at α 0,05. It showed that there was no about effect of Learning Start with a Question (LSQ) on student’s analytical thinking in nervous system topic.

Abstract

Ecological footprint is an estimation analysis or measure individual consumption behaviour resulting in the environment. One of the factors which ecological footprint affects are knowledge of ecology concepts and gender. The objective of this research was to determine the relationship between student’s knowledge of ecology concepts to ecological footprint based on gender. This research was conducted on January-February 2016. The method used was descriptive method with correlational study. The sample was simple random sampling about 104 students. The prerequisite test showed that the data was normal and homogen. The first hypothesis test using linear regression test and simple correlation. Regression model obtained Ŷ = 0.047–0.574X had a significant and linear relationship. The coefficient of correlation obtained was –0.72, which means there was a negative relationship between student’s knowledge of ecology concepts to ecological footprint. The coefficient of determination obtained was .518, which means student’s knowledge of ecology concepts contributed 51.8% to the ecological footprint. The second hypothesis test using t-test independent sample, significance value obtained was .123, which means that there was no significant ecological footprint difference between man students and woman students. The result of this study concluded that there was negative correlation between student’s knowledge of ecology concepts with ecological footprint and gender was no affect the student’s ecological footprint. The higher of knowledge of ecology concepts will reduce their ecological footprint and it will create a balance environment.

Abstract

Test is an activity used as indicators success of education that applies to all subjects including biology. Unfortunately, there are assumption that biology is a boring subject , too much memorizing, and that is not relevant for our life. It can increase the anxiety experienced by students during the tested. This study aimed to determine the relationship between test anxiety level and Learning Biology Motivation. This study was conducted in 21 Senior High School Jakarta on January until February 2016. Research method used in this study was correlational study. Population from this study were X MIA students. A total of 122 students used for this study were taken by Simple Random Sampling. Prerequisites tests data was homogeneous and normally distributed. Correlation test resulted -0,398 which means there was a relationship between test anxiety level with biology learning motivation level on X MIA Students 21 Senior High School Jakarta. Regulation test resulted Ŷ = 85.725 - 0.312x, with X is test anxiety level and Y is biology learning motivation level. Determination coefficients resulted 0.159 that mean test anxiety have a contribution 15.9% determined learning motivation, while the other factor have a contribution too.
