Abstract

The future competence of the 21st century requires students to be able to utilize Information and Communication Technology (ICT). One of ICTs used by students is smartphone. To get the smartphone benefits used by students, a medium of learning is needed in the form of modules on smartphone operating system. Hopefully, it can make the students feel more interested and motivated in learning biology. The purpose of this study was to develop multimedia mobile learning modules based on android operating system which contains biodiversity material for senior high school students of class X. The research was conducted in September 2015 to January 2016. The research method used was a research and development. The validation test results of subject expert, a linguists and media experts testing obtained scores of 84%, 80.57% and 63%. The trial test results of initial and primary use of students was 81,41% and 81,15%. Next result was a trial test from biology teachers with 87.50%. Pre test obtained an average score 83.98 while the post test gained an average score of 87.23. The conclusion of this research and development was the multimedia mobile learning modules of biodiversity material based on android operating system for senior high school students of class X has been developed, got a good interpretation score and increase student learning outcomes.

Abstract

Local wisdom refers to ideas and local knowledge which are wise, full of wisdom, good and virtuous beliefs that made, owned, also carried out by local people in that area. People of Lencoh village are applying local wisdom filled with Javanese culture in order to interact with the environment and use natural resources. This study aims to determine the correlation between perception of local wisdom and conservation attitude of Lencoh village people in Mount Merapi National Park. The study was conducted in Lencoh village, Selo sub-district in January 2016. The method used is the descriptive methods with correlational study. There are 95 respondents from the three hamlets. The data is using questionnaires and interviews. The results showed 56,84% and 43,16% of respondents have a enough and high local wisdom perception, and 8,42% and 91,58% of respondents have a enough and good conservation attitude. Hypothesis is tested using simple linear regression analysis, obtained Y = 47.262 + 0.703X and Pearson Product Moment Correlation test at α = 0.01, obtained rxy = 0.678 indicates a strong correlation between local wisdom perception and conservation attitude of a Lencoh village people. The results of this research prove there is a positive correlation between local wisdom perception and conservation attitude of Lencoh village people on Mount Merapi National Park.

Abstract

Student perspective on the environment and the factors that can influence it is important to be known. Student perspective on the environment can be determined by measuring the New Environment Paradigm (NEP). New Environmental Paradigm is a new perspective on the environment that reflects a better concern for the environment. New Environmental Paradigm owned by students can be different from one another are assumed to be influenced by cognitive style. Cognitive style is divided into field independent and field dependent. The purpose of this study was to determine the differences in the New Environmental Paradigm student with a cognitive style of field independent and field dependent. This research was conducted at the State University of Jakarta on June 2015. The method used is ex post facto. Samples are 82 students of 2014 biology class using the Slovin formula with simple random sampling technique. The test results prerequisite to Kolmogorov-Smirnov (α = 0.05) and Levene (α = 0.05) showed normal data and homogeneous. t test results (α = 0.05) showed that there is a difference in the average score of the New Environmental Paradigm (NEP) student with field independent and field dependent cognitive style. Results of this study have implications for academic practitioners to provide the most effective strategies to convey information in an attempt to fix the student perspective on the environment through Environmental Science subjects.

Abstract

Knowledge is an important factor in appearing care. As well as knowledge of high school student around Pulau Pramuka in order to bring conservation principle in the area. The aim of this research was to find out the correlation between environmental knowledge and coral reefs conservation concern. This research was held on February 2015 at SMAN 69 Jakarta. The research method used was descriptive with survey technique bycorrelational study. The sample reserach was 43 high school students grade X. The regression model was . Coefficient correlation was 0,395 that means there was low correlation between environmental knowledge of high school student and their care about coral reefs conservation. Environmental knowledge about coral reefs conservation gave contribution of 15,60% on high school student care about coral reefs conservation. The research result concluded that there was correlation between environmental knowledge and coral reefs conservation concern.

Abstract

Scientific Literacy refers to an individual scientific knowledge and use it to identifiy question, aquire new knowledge, explain scientific phenomena, and draw evidence based conclusion about science related issues. Scientific literacy is the final purpose of learning science for 15 years students. In learning process, students have different modal to achieve the science learning purpose. One of modal that student have named cognitive style. Different cognitive style assumed to be different scientific literacy ability. Cognitive style in this research is according to Witkin and Goodenough (1981) in Altun and Cakan (2006) i.e Field Independent (FI) and Field Dependent (FD). Purpose of this research is to know the difference scientific literacy ability of students having Field Independent and Field Dependent cognitive style. This research was conducted at SMAN 68 Jakarta in April until Mei 2015. Method use in this research was Ex Post Facto. The sample were 135 X grade High School Students ( 21 FD and 114 FI). The result of prerequisite test use Kolmogorov-smirnov (α = 0,05) and Levene test (α = 0,05) showed the data normally distributed and homogenous. Result of Independent t-test (α = 0,05) showed p value 0,002<0,05 thereby there is the differences between FI and FD on scientific literacy score and level. Students with FI cognitive style obtain higher score than students with FD cognitive style with mean difference 9,849.

Abstract

Fishermen plays an important role in the fisheries sector specifically for fishing gear. fishermen knowledge about environmentally friendly fishing gear expected to preserve the ecosystem and fish habitat. The result of this research is to know the relationship between fishermen educational level and fishermen knowledge about environmentally friendly fishing gear in Cilincing Village, North Jakarta. This research conducted in Cilincing Village on May 2014. The method in this research is descriptive correlational with technical survey. Populations are determined by purposive sampling. Samples were taken by simple random sampling with 60 fishermen sample. The instrument used was a questionnaire about the environmentally friendly fishing gear with 3 alternatives answer. The result shows that the highest value obtained was 60 – 72 and the lowest was 6 – 18. Analyzed data using Rank-Spearman. The result of this research shows indicated an relationship between fishermen educational level and fishermen knowledge about environmentally friendly fishing gear in Cilincing Village, North Jakarta with correlation value of 0,385.

Abstract

Analytical thinking is the ability to specify a state according to the parts that are smaller and able to understand the relationship between the factors of the other factors. Learning to develop students’ analytical thinking skills include learning model ARIAS and STAD. The purpose of this study to determine differences in students’ analytical thinking skills through learning models ARIAS with STAD on environmental pollution. This research was conducted at SMAN 31 Jakarta in May 2014. The method used is the method of quasi-experimental research design Post-test only design group. The research sample in each group are 32 students selected by simple random sampling. The analysis prerequisite test is a test for normality with the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test and test to test homogentias F. Based on the data obtained by the calculation of normal and homogeneous. Hypothesis testing using t-test with a significance level α = 0.05 shows the p-value is 0.000, it can be concluded there are differences in students’ analytical thinking skills through learning models Assurance, Relevance, Interest, Assessment, Satisfaction (ARIAS) with Student Teams-Achievement Divisions (STAD) on environmental pollution.

Abstract

Learning results are influenced by 2 factors; internal and external factors. Method of learning is one of external factors. This study aimed to determine the effect of Hypnoteaching method toward application the cognitive learning outcomes on Nervous System Topic at SMAN 97 Jakarta. The research was conducted in the second semester of Academic Year 2014/2015. The method was a quasi-experimental with pretest-posttest control group design. A total sample of 74 students of class XI MIA was selected by simple random sampling technique. This research used a cognitive learning. Test instrument data was analized by analysis of variance of the path of non-parametric Kruskal Wallis. The result showed a significance value 0.07> 0.05 so that it was conclude that Hypnoteaching method had no effect on students cognitive learning outcomes Nervous System Topic.

Abstract

Adolescence is a critical period in a human development stage. One of the most important periods for female teenage is menarche that causes different impact, one of them is psychological impact. Acquired knowledge about menstruation will affect the perception of adolescents about menarche that can also affect the readiness of the girls in facing menarche. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between knowledge about menstruation with the readiness of female teenage in facing menarche. This research was conducted in SDN lubang buaya 01 and 05 on May-June 2015. Data obtained by giving knowledge and readiness questionnaire to 47 respondents in SDN Lubang Buaya 01 and as many as 51 respondents in SDN Lubang Buaya 05. Data were analyzed by using a simple correlation - regression test. The correlation coefficient (rxy) was 0.593 indicates that there is a moderate possitive relationship between Knowledge of Menstruation with the Female Teenage Readiness in Facing Menarche through the regression model Ŷ = 29.831 + 0,649X. It can be conclude that the knowledge has a moderate positive relationship with the female teenage readiness in facing menarche.

Abstract

Monopoly is one of the games that can be applied as a learning media. Modifications of this media were applied so this game intended to informed teacher about students’ cognitive ability and to increase students’ learning stimulus acceptance. The aim of this research was to develop modified monopoly game as learning media on endocrine system. The research was held at Senior High School 1 Jakarta using research and development method. Need assessment, product development, and try-out and revision were the steps in this research. In the try-out and revision step, media expert and material expert were involved as the assessors, meanwhile Biology teacher, and students grade XI at Senior High School 1 Jakarta were performed as the media user. After the whole try out process, the product received the lowest score was 72,67%, and the highest was 94,63%. And the average score was 85,66% that achieved a very good interpretation. The result of this research showed that the modified monopoly game could be utilized as one of learning media on Endocrine System at Senior High School grade XI science.
