Abstract

The purpose of the study was to determine the characteristics of the cooling rate and The ideal coefficient of performance (COP) is the KTE-2000 EV refrigeration machine using an automatic expansion valve and thermostatic expansion valves. Analysis of the cooling and COP rates is ideally done by measuring changes in room temperature and plotting data on temperature and compressor pressure on the suction side and press side (suction line and discharge line) in the P-h diagram for the type of refrigerant R-404a. The test results show the characteristics of the average KTE-2000 EV cooling rate using an automatic expansion valve is 0.035 oC / s with an ideal COP value between 1.91 to 2.02, while for the thermostatic expansion valve the cooling rate characteristics obtained are an average of 0.024 oC / s and the ideal COP value between 2.58 and 3.13.

Abstract

Products made from plastic at this time we often encounter human life in various forms, so that there are many product requests or tools made of plastic make mold orders mold making is increasing. In the process of forming plastic with the injection molding method need to be made a mold, mold is the most important part for printing plastic because the shape of a plastic object depends from the shape of the mold. In particular Al-7075 alloy with a composition of 5.5% Zn, 2.5-1.5% Mn, 1.5% Cu, 0.3% Cr, 0.2% Mn. The size of the soapbox mold after milling is: length of 140 mm and width of 105 mm, for the cavity or the so-called female has a thickness of 31 mm while the core which is referred to as male is 41 mm thick. Process carried out in making this mold using a milling machine by working on the adjustment process, radius screening, straight, drillingand finishing hexagons. The injection molding process uses a heater (heater) that has been made in the form of a tube and then filled with plastic and plastic is thawed in a heating tube with a temperature of 250 ℃ and the liquid plastic liquid was pressed so that it exits the nozzle and goes into the mold (liquid) plastic that has been moved into the mold then cooled until hardened until a soap box product is formed.

Abstract

The compact heat exchanger is one type of heat exchanger which has an area of heat transfer per unit volume the largest (≥ 400 m2 / m3 for liquids and ≥ 700 m2 / m3 for gases) which is composed of fin and tube. But often found a decrease in heat transfer performance on a heat exchanger. To increase the heat transfer performance, changes are made on the surface of the fin or by adding a vortex generator. In this numerical study vortex generator was added to the winglet delta curve type which aims to determine the flow characteristics and the transfer of heat produced. This numerical study uses solidworks flow simulation software as a numerical simulation tool. Speed variations on the inlet side are 0.5 m / s, 1.15 m / s and 1.8 m / s. Simulation results were obtained by comparing fin using winglet delta curve with those without the winglet delta curve and compared to adding holes on the winglet delta curve. From the simulation results obtained compact heat exchanger which uses the winglet delta curve without and with holes the increase in heat transfer rate ranges from 16.43% - 30.67% compared to a heat exchanger without     a winglet delta curve.

Abstract

Rotary Bending Fatigue is a test tool to determine the limits of fatigue that occur in material, where fatigue occurs due to loading. Fracture occurs because when the material has undergone a stress cycle that produces permanent damage as a process of changing the permanent structure at one point crack (crack) is done by varying loading, namely: 10kg load produces a voltage of 34.226 Mpa, Cycle 125321 within 123, 37 minutes . At 15kg load produces a voltage of 51.333 Mpa, Cycle110597 in 125.54 minutes. At 20kg load produces a voltage of 68.452 Mpa, Cycle 54527 in 32.37 minutes. At 25kg load produces a voltage of 85.565 Mpa, Cycle 28638 in time of 22.01. At 30kg load produces a 102.6786 Mpa Voltage, 19711 Cycle in 17.57 minutes. With the following conclusions, fatigue resistance in 304 Stainless Steel decreases with increasing voltage given.

Abstract

The aim of this study to study the effect of the Equal Channel Angular Pressing process the mechanical properties of aluminum silicon with annealing temperature of 300 ° C. An aluminum silicon rod with a length of 40 mm and a width of 9.5 mm in diameter is passed to the ECAP mold with a mold flow angle of 120 °. Material hardness and microstructure of materials before and after the ECAP process are examined and compared. The results showed that after the ECAP process, the hardness of aluminum silicon in the longitudinal section increased and was fairly evenly distributed, ie, at annealing time of 10 minutes the hardness value was 54.30 BHN, at 15 minutes resistance the hardness increased to 55.08 BHN and 25 minutes the hardness value rose to 55.69 BHN, as well as the microstructure showed that the longer the time annealed, the finer the grains on silicon aluminum.

Abstract

On the slicing machine for raw material for crackers performance test to analyze the effect of speed rotation to the results of slicing crackers which aims to get slicing speed to get productivity and the quality of slicing good raw crackers, and maximum incision capacity. In the analysis of shaft rotation on the results of slicing the raw material of crackers the material used (machine for slicing crackers raw material). Then do the operation or slicing activity of the crackers raw material in three variations, namely at 40 rpm rotation), the results of the slicing of crackers as much as 90.9 kg / hr with 630.6 kw, and at 30 rpm rotation, and the material slicing results obtained. raw crackers were 72.2 kg / hr and power 613.3 kw and at 20 rpm rotation the results of slicing crackers as much as 55.8 kg / hr were obtained with a power of 68 kw. After three rounds of rotation at 40 rpm were carried out, the highest slicing capacity and the best quality were obtained, so the higher the speed, the more raw material for sliced crackers.

Abstract

Plastic is a material that takes several years to decompose, so a recycling device such as an injection molding machine is needed. This injection molding is very good at managing useless plastic waste items that are worth the sale price. The purpose of this simulation analysis with solidworks software is to design the injection chamber and analyze it to get good results, so that there are no losses in making the engine later. Based on simulation data analysis is done by varying the heating temperature. Under heating conditions 150 ℃ the highest temperature distribution is 150 ℃ and the lowest is 146,196 ℃ with the lowest Heat flux 2,554,494 W / m ^ 2 and the highest Heat flux is 29,984.35 W / m ^ 2. Under heating conditions 200 ℃ the highest temperature distribution 150 ℃ and the lowest 194.611 ℃ with the lowest Heat flux 3,618,867 W / m ^ 2 and the highest Heat flux 42,477,828 W / m ^ 2. Under heating conditions 250 ℃ the highest temperature distribution of 150 ℃ and the lowest 243,027 ℃ with the lowest heat flux 4,683.24 W / m ^ 2 and the highest Heat flux 54,971,131 W / m ^ 2. From the analysis of injection chamber data the results are at a heating temperature of 150 ℃ producing a heat capacity of 41.99 KJ while at a heating temperature of 200 ℃ it produces a heat capacity of 59.49 KJ and at a heating temperature of 250 ℃ produces a heat capacity of 76.99 KJ.

Abstract

The design of the corn seed chopping machine into fine corn is an alternative to increasing the selling value of farmers' corn, the previous chopper machine was considered to be less efficient because it relied on friction using a dish. This problem prompted the writer to design the corn kernels, on the topic of this discussion the author limited the problems that included machine design in several stages, namely: planning in the form of working drawings, calculating and determining the power and rotation of the driving motor needed to move the engine ; planning and calculating machine elements, including: chopper, shaft, bearing, lubrication, pegs, pulleys, belts, propulsion and frame. The results of this discussion are: The blade made of S45C has a length of 250 mm, and the number of blades used is 3 sets. Shaft made of St 37 in diameter 25 mm. The bearings used are rolling bearings with bearing numbers 205 FBJP. The pegs used have a thickness of 7 mm and a width of 8 mm type is rectangular pegs. Type A pulley with 3 cm drive pulleys and pulleys driven 6.5 cm. Belt-V, type A size 39 number 1. The driving force has a power of 1HP, the actual rotation is 1450 rpm, the rotation planned on the counter shaft is 333 rpm, from this component the engine capacity is 60 kg / hour.

Abstract

Motorcycle is one of the means of transportation that is widely used today. The comfort and stability of a motorcycle is determined by the design of the suspension system used in the vehicle. On a motorcycle the suspension system consists of the front and rear suspension which has the same function, which is to reduce vibration due to road field irregularities. In the rear suspension there are two types of suspension systems, this suspension includes double suspension and single suspension or commonly called monoshock. The monoshock suspension system has one spring and one damper in the middle of the Swing Arm and is directly connected to the vehicle body. This suspension system is mostly found on motorbikes with large cc, because the work of the motorcycle suspension system is quite heavy. In the design process of the monoshock suspension system using 2012 solidwork. By using the 2012 solidwork suspension system a suspension design and simulation of the coil spring with several variations of Pitch and Revolution were made to obtain stress, displacement, and strain results with a predetermined load of 1200N. The results of the monoshock suspension simulation are coil springs with Pitch and Revolution, where the lower part of the coil is spongy and the top of the joint has the appropriate stress, displacement and strain values.

Abstract

Pada desain incinerator cangkang kelapa sawit sebagai bahan bakar incinerator sampah pada incinerator secara berterusan menggunakan cangkang kelapa sawit dengan tinggi tungku biomassa 90 cm dan volume tungku biomassa 20 kg, diameter saluran blower 5 cm memvariabelkan kecepatan blower keruang bakar antara dengan kecepatan udara 0,9 m/s, 1,2 m/s, dan 1,9 m/s. Konsumsi bahan bakar antara 18kg/jam. Dari hasil pengujian ini perbedaan kecepatan udara dari  blower keruang pembakaran harus di seimbangkan dengan bahan bakar yang  masuk keruang bakar pembakaran, sehingga dapatlah pembakaran yang sempurna dengan pipa saluran blower 10 cm jadi dapat disimpulkan bahwa menentukan pembakaran yang optimal itu kita harus menyeimbangkan banyaknya bahanbakar yang masuk keruang pembakaran dengan volume 22 kg  sehingga kita bias menentukan udara yang diperlukan dalam pembakaran tersebut. Pada penelitian ini, penulis memilih analisa suatu bahan bakar pada pembakaran cangkang kelapasawit pada incinerator secara berterusan adalah dengan jumlah bahan bakar sebanyak 18 kg/jam dengan kecepatan udara ialah 0,9 m/s, memiliki temperature konstan dari 500°C - 100°C. Hasil pengujian ini telah menunjukkan bahwa terjadinya kenaikan dan penurunan temperature disebabkan oleh variasi udara yang berbeda, dimana semakin besar udara yang dimasukkan dalam ruang bakar dengan bahan bakar yang tetap, maka temperature ruang bakar akan semakin meningkat dan sebaliknya.
