Abstract

Pasak bumi is one kind of medicinal plants commonly consumed by people and grow in Prohibition of Indigenous Forests Rumbio. Information on the ecological conditions Pasak bumi in Prohibition of Indigenous Forests Rumbio is important known as an indicator of the presence of Pasak bumi, and their population in the forest. The purpose of this study to analyze the ecological conditions Pasak bumi in Prohibition of Indigenous Forests Rumbio , and know how to use Pasak bumu conducted by people around the Prohibition of Indigenous Forests R umbio. The method used in this study was a survey method, the implementation of the research started from the observation, creating a plot, measurement, and data acquisition. The average temperature in the research location 28,09 0 C, average air humidity 85.38%, and the average light intensity of 582.20 lux, type of soil is Red Yellow Podzolic, w ith a pH of 5.5-6.4. Pasak bumi found in site which it is flat and slopes for 15%, with an altitude of 600-750 m above sea level. Pasak bumi grown on sloping ground that is not waterlogged. Communities around the Prohibition of Indigenous Forests Rumbio utilize Pasak bumi from the leaves, stems, bark and roots. The perceived benefits of the Pasak bumi by society is to improve blood circulation, eliminate fatigue, malaria drugs, smooth urination, mouth sores, itching disease medicine, a tonic after childbirth and fever.

Abstract

This study aimed to get a dose of right inoculants Fusarium sp. and accelerate the creation of aloes. This research was conducted in test models of agro forestry plots and aloes-owned Balai Penelitian dan Teknologi Serat Tanaman Hutan (BPTSTH) Kuok that located in the village of Kembang Damai Districts of Pagaran Tapah Darussalam Rokan Hulu District. Held for 3 months from July to September 2013. The research method using a randomized block design with 5 treatments, namely in drill without being given inoculant fungi Fusarium sp. (Control), (P1), inoculant 0.5 cc / hole (P2), inoculant 1 cc / hole (P3), inoculant 1.5 cc / hole (P4), inoculant 2 cc / hole (P5). Each treatment was appli.ed in three (3) blocks, the first block to the treatment of Karas trees to plant oil palm on a spacing of 2 meters, block II spacing of 3 meters and a block III at spacing of 4 meters. After 3 months of observation of the extensive infection, discoloration and changes in the level of flavor very significant effect. A symptom o f the infection area formed on the aloe tree tends to spread vertically to follow the direction of the vascular tissue of the stem. To aloes ± 6 years old should use a dose of 0.5 cc / borehole inoculant Fusarium sp.

Abstract

Plywood is a composite product in form of an artificial board made of veneer sheets that were bonded together with an arrangement of perpendicular intersection. The quality of plywood circulating in Bengkalis City market was examined onits quality of the surface, inside and back space, moisture content and the thickness of its swell . The examination on the quality of plywood for construction of buildings circulating in Bengkalis City Market was using the standard of SNI 01-5008.2-1999. The test results of 4 plywood trademarks circulating in the market of Bengkalis City on its surface quality was showing that the product as known as Arwana and Tunas trademarks were belong to C class, Fortune that has quality B class, and OFR was on A class quality. While the quality inside of plywood of brand mark as Arwana, Tunas and Fortune were including to class A quality (overlap defect), but those 2 natural and technical defects is not including to SNI requirement criterias (slit and length), OFR trademark plywood’s inside quality was included into A classon its natural and technical defect criteria. Further, the quality of plywood’s back space of those 4 trademarks circulating in Bengkalis City were included into the standard SNI 01-5008.2-1999. The examintaion of moisture content in accordance to SNI 01-5008.2-1999 standard showed that Fortune and OFR trademark were fulfilling the requirement standard of 14%, while Arwana and Tunas were having higher water content (≥ 20%). At last, the thickness swell of all trademarks were in conformity with the SNI 01-5008.2-1999, in which reqiuring its thickness of 12%.

Abstract

Rubber trees planted by people in several districts of Riau province, among them the Kampar regency. Rubber seed that has not valuable feed source can be used for one of them is a main ingredient of fish feed. In addition to rubber seed, Tower Island Village also produces waste Patin fish entrails. The waste generated from the business community to make smoked fish Patin. During this time the waste is dumped in waterways around residences. Problems IbM partners: 1) Partners have the willingness to do busine ss, but do not have the knowledge and skills in the field of production, 2) Partners do not have knowledge in aspects of business management, which is a way of packaging, marketing, and business analysis calculations. Solutions are performed: training and assistance for people with the target communities to utilize the waste around them. Outputs from this IbM activities include: 1) The method of making rubber seed flour; 2) Method of making the feed / fish pellet made from rubber seed flour; 3) The method o f making a liquid organic fertilizer from waste fish entrails catfish; 4) Method of manufacture of poultry feed from catfish waste; 5) rubber seed flour; 6) Feed / fish pellet; 7) liquid organic fertilizer; 8) feed poultry. Mitra has begun to open wawasany a in utilizing waste rubber seed and catfish after receiving an explanation from the team. Partners receive initial skills in the utilization of fish waste and rubber seeds to manufacture pellets of fish, organic liquid fertilizer and poultry feed.

Abstract

This study aims to 1) identify the types of NTFP and the level of excellence in Kampar District, 2) Formulate a potential HHBK development strategy to be excellent in Kampar District. The study was conducted on May -August 2016, with survey method. Data collection is done on three objects that are potential areas of NTFP, community and related offices. The data collection on the potential of NTFPs and the determination of the level of excellence of each type of HHBK shall be guided by the Minister of Forestry Regulation No.P.21 / Menhut-II / 2009. The results of the study identified the types of HHBK in Kampar Regency there are 9 types, namely: honey (from Apis dorsata), rattan (Calamus sp), durian (Durio zibethinus), mangosteen (Garcinia mangostana), tampui (Bacaurea macrocarpa) Scaphium macropodum), Pinang (Areca catechu), petai (Parkia speciosa) and gaharu (Aqularia malaccensis), with HHBK excellence class including class II and class III. D evelopment strategy of superior HHBK of Kampar Regency: 1) Improvem ent of product quality and diversification (honey and durian); 2) Increasing the quality of rural human resources; 3) Strengthening of rural institutions; 4) Facilities / business capital development, post-harvest handling and marketing.

Abstract

The forest inventory is basically a data collection activities. This activity is relatively important, because the effect on further activities. Hence the data collected must have a high enough accuracy. A way of determining the sampling unit is considered to be simpler, easier, and faster is the tree sampling method. The purpose of this study was to quantify the potential large stands of eucalyptus in the Forest of eucalyptus plants in the Faculty of Forestry and calculate the relative efficiency of sample unit. The total area is 0.11 ha of eucalyptus stands. Unit examples used are circular, 4-trees sampling, sampling 5 -trees, and 6-trees sampling is done by simple random sampling method. Potential stands of eucalyptus with method 4 sample trees have an average volume stands perplot is 0.096 m3, with the volume of the stand for the entire area is 111.09 m3 with a sampling error of 43.65%. Potential stands of eucalyptus trees by the method of example 5 has a volume average stocking each plot is 0.091 m3, with the volume of the stand for the entire area is 105.40 m3 with a sampling error of 51%. Potential stands of eucalyptus by using 6 sample trees have an average volume stands each plot was 0.08 m3, with the volume of the stand for the entire area is 92.83 m3 with a sampling error o f 54.77%. Potential stands of eucalyptus with a diameter circular sample plots of 12 m has an average volume stands each plot is 6,37 m3, with the volume of the stand for the entire area is 65.61 m3 with a sampling error of 22.63%.

Abstract

Forest fires in peat soils will affect hydrological characteristics and hydrological cycles. Industrial Plantation Forest in Riau Province is mostly located in peat soil. This study aims to measure the impact of forest fires on peat subsidence and water table level. The research location is located in industrial forest plantation located in Bengkalis Regency , Riau Province. The method of research is to install piezometer and iron rod stuck into the soil to penetrate the mineral soil layer, then the iron that appears on the surface of the soil is made permanent sign for reference in monitoring the altitude cha nge of the surrounding surface (subsidency). The fire peat forest has a depth of 12.21 cm month-1down water level from the peat surface while in the unburned area 10 cm month-1. In the burnt area the rate of peat surface decline is 0.159 cm month-1 while the unburned area is 0.119 cm month-1.

Abstract

Land and forest fires (Karlahut) pose a great impact in terms of environment, education, politics, economics, health, inter-state relations and the image of Indonesia in the eyes of the world. As a result of Karlahut has damaged millions of hectares of land and forests that have an impact on material and immate rial losses are very large. Through the Minister of Environment and Forestry of the Republic of Indonesia Number P.32 / MenLHK / Secretariat / Kum.1 / 3/2016 have set a system control forest fires. Teamwork is a critical importance of a system of land and forest fire control. Tampa team that is compact and harmonious then the purpose of the system already built will be difficult to accomplish.

Abstract

The Indigenous Prohibited Forestof Rumbio provide benefits for the community in the form of non-timber forest products and environmental services in the form of water resources, but amid the increasing demand for land and economic demands put pressure on forests that threaten forest sustainability. Therefore, this study examines the factors that influence the participation of surrounding communities in conservation and environmental management activities and environmental services incentive system that can be adopted in the Indigenous Prohibited F orestof Rumbio. The method used in this research is survey method with questionnaire and in-depth interviews. Data analysis is descriptive using AHP method and multiple linear regression. This study result in that developed incentive programs for people around. The Indigenous Prohibited Forest of Rumbio in the framework of forest conservation are employment (24.17%), subsidy in second rank (20.15%) and improvement of conservation techniques in third rank (18. 90%). Factors that significantly influence the participation of respondents are education, knowledge, level of dependence on forests, customary institutions. Incentives are directed to the payment of environmental services by granting rights in the management of environmental services such as water use, non-timber forest product development, and tourism and education activities involving the community.

Abstract

Oil palm expansion that occurred in Indonesia become the concern today. The expansion of oil palm plantations is a major contribution to the national economy. However oil palm plantations is claimed as the cause of the destruction of primary forests and reduce the diversity of plant species. Therefore, research is needed to explore the history of land cover of oil palm plantations and knowing the divers ity of plant species before and after the oil palm plantations. The study was conducted in March-April 2016 in 6 companies in Riau province. The data collected by the analysis of Landsat imagery to see the condition of land cover prior to their oil palm plantations. In addition, analysis of vegetation in 2-3 plots on land cover before and after the oil palm plantations. The land cover were observed after the oil palm plantations that HCV suspected area as an area that has a high diversity of plant species in oil palm plantations. Analysis of landsat satelite indicated that the history of land cover oil palm plantations is come from secondary forest (19.88%), rubber plantations (59.26%), open land (19.87%), and mixed agriculture (0.99%). The highest diversity of plant that is in HCV which forest areas form . The results showed that the number of plant species was decreased about 60.56-93.33% in the three companies, while the other three companies does not have change the number of plant species. The company did not change the diversity of plant species are those with HCV area in the form of secondary forest that had existed before the oil palm plantations. Thus, there was no history of land cover palm oil from primary forests, and then to the impact of oil palm plantations on plant species diversity was decreased significantly.
