Focus and Scope Jurnal Keperawatan Indonesia (JKI, or Nursing Journal of Indonesia) contributes to the dissemination of information related to nursing research and evidence-based study on urban nursing issues in low-middle income countries. The scope of this journal is broadly multi-perspective in nursing areas such as Nursing Education, Clinical Practice, Community Health Care, Management and Health System, Health Informatics, and Transcultural Nursing, with a focus on urban nursing issues in low-middle income countries. JKI is committed to communicating and being open to the discussion of ideas, facts, and issues related to health across a wide range of disciplines. The journal accepts original research articles, synthesized literature, and best practice reports or case reports that use the quantitative, qualitative, or mixed-method approach. JKI adheres to journalistic standards that require transparency of real and potential conflicts of interest that authors and editors may have. It follows publishing standards set by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), the World Association of Medical Editors (WAME), and the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Letters and commentaries about our published articles are welcome. All submitted contributions will undergo a blind peer-review process according to appropriate criteria.

Abstract

Pasien pasung yang telah pulang dari rumah sakit jiwa (RSJ) oleh keluarga akan berpotensi untuk dipasung kembali. Tujuan penelitian menguraikan pengalaman keluarga dalam merawat pasien pascapasung. Desain penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi. Teknik pengambilan purposive sampling dengan wawancara mendalam. Kriteria inklusi caregiver yang mempunyai anggota keluarga pernah dipasung sebelum dan sesudah dirawat di RSJ dan mampu berkomunikasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keluarga pasien pascapasung mengalami beban emosional dan kelelahan fisik. Rekomendasi penelitian adalah berupa pengembangan pelayanan keperawatan jiwa di masyarakat dan pemberian pendidikan kesehatan dengan cara penanganan pasien gangguan jiwa dengan perilaku agresif. Abstract Phenomenology Study on the Family’s Experience in Caring for Client Post Restraint (Seclusion) in Central Java. The seclusion or restraint’s client will send home to their family was experienced re restraint or re seclusion. The aim of this study is to elaborate the family’s experience in caring for the client post restraint or seclusion through the qualitative study with the phenomenology approach. The sampling technique is purposive sampling with in-depth interview. The inclusion criteria are the caregiver who has a family member with the experience of being restraint or seclusion before hospitalized, had been restraint, being restraint or being re-restraint, and being able to communicate well. The results show that the family have emotional burden and physical exhausted. This study has suggested that psychiatric nursing may develop a mental nurse psychiatric nursing services in the community by providing health education on how to manage the aggressive behavior of the client with mental disorder. Keywords: the experience, caregiver, restraint (seclusion)

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengenai karakteristik subjektif tidur pada klien rawat inap dewasa di Rumah Sakit X Depok. Desain penelitian ini deskriptif sederhana dengan pendekatan cross-sectional. Sampel yang terlibat berjumlah 72 pasien dengan teknik pengambilan sampel consecutive sampling. Responden mengisi kuesioner berisi skala tidur Verran dan Snyder-Halpern. Hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa pasien mengalami gangguan tidur tingkat sedang (47,22%) hingga berat (25%). Efektivitas tidur pasien juga hanya berada pada tingkat sedang (50%) hingga rendah (19,44%). Pasien juga mensuplementasikan tidurnya dengan tingkatan sedang (38,88%) hingga tinggi (22%). Penelitian ini dapat digunakan sebagai penelitian dasar untuk meneliti faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi pola tidur pasien rawat inap. Abstract Sleeping Subjective Characteristics of Adult Patient at X Hospital Depok. This research explored subjective sleep characteristics of hospitalized adult patients in X Hospital Depok. Simple descriptive design was used in this research. Consecutive sampling ­was applied on this study involving 72 patients. Patients were asked to fill the questionnaire about Verran and Snyder Halpern sleep scale (VSH Sleep Scale). Results showed that patients experienced sleep disturbance with moderate levels (47,22%), moreover (25%) patients experienced severe sleep disturbance. Patients felt that sleep effectiveness in moderate levels (50%), moreover (19,44%) patients felt that sleep effectiveness only in low levels. Sleep supplementation also experienced by patients with moderate levels (38,88%), moreover (22%) patients experienced sleep supplementation in high levels. Abstract

Kemampuan mengisap mengisapbayi prematur dapat ditingkatkan dengan pemberian stimulasi non nutritive sucking (NNS) dengan menggunakan empeng. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuktikan pengaruh stimulasi NNS menggunakan empeng terhadap lama penggunaan sonde dalam pemberian minum bayi prematur. Desain penelitian menggunakan kuasi eksperimen dengan post test only with control group design dengan sampel dua puluh responden untuk dua kelompok yang dipilih secara purposive sampling di salah satu rumah sakit daerah Tangerang. Pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner dan instrumen lembar observasi indikator pelepasan sonde dan dianalisis dengan uji t tidak berpasangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tidak ada pengaruh stimulasi NNS dengan menggunakan empeng terhadap lama penggunaan sonde dalam pemberian minum bayi prematur (p= 0,379), tetapi masa penggunaan sonde lebih pendek. Peneliti merekomendasikan agar stimulasi NNS dengan menggunakan empeng tetap dijadikan prosedur alternatif untuk meningkatkan refleks mengisapmengisap pada bayi prematur. Abstract Acceleration of Gastric Tube Usage through Non Nutritive Sucking Simulation for Premature Infant Feeding. An adequate sucking can be improved a premature infant’s sucking reflex with non nutritive sucking stimulation (NNS) with pacifier. The purpose of this research was to identify the influence of NNS stimulation with pacifier towards the duration of gastric tube usage during premature infant feeding. The design of this research was quasi experimental with post test only control group design with 20 respondents for two groups, then were chosen by purposive sampling in one of Tangerang District Hospital. The data were collected using a questionnaire and an observation form. Data were analized using independent t test. The result of this research showed that there was no influence of NNS with pacifier towards the duration of gastric tube usage (p=0,379), however the duration of gastric tube usage was shortened. This research recommends that non nutritive sucking stimulation with pacifier is an alternative procedures to improve a premature infant’s sucking reflex. Keywords:  non nutritive sucking stimulation, preterm babies, pacifier, sucking reflex, gastric tube

Abstract

Gejala umum yang sering dirasakan balita pneumonia adalah batuk. Intervensi keperawatan mandiri yang dapat dilakukan untuk mengatasi masalah batuk pada malam hari dan kualitas tidur anak di antaranya adalah dengan memberikan terapi komplementer madu. Madu bermanfaat bagi kesehatan karena mengandung antibiotik alami,  antiinflamasi, dan antioksidan. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengidentifikasi efektivitas pemberian madu terhadap batuk pada malam hari dan kualitas tidur balita yang mengidap pneumonia. Desain penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan eksperimen semu pretest posttest with non equivalent control group dengan tiga puluh enam responden yang diambil secara consecutive sampling. Hasil analisis data menggunakan independent t-test yang menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan penurunan skor batuk (p< 0,001; CI 95% 1,82–3,37) dan peningkatan kualitas tidur yang bermakna (p< 0,001; CI 95% 0,66–1,67) saat posttest pada kelompok yang mendapatkan madu dibandingkan dengan kelompok kontrol. Peneliti merekomendasikan pemberian madu bagi balita pneumonia sebagai terapi komplementer yang aman untuk mengatasi batuk. Kata kunci: batuk, kualitas tidur, madu, pneumonia Abstract Honey for Decreasing Cough at Night and Increasing the Sleep Quality of Children with Pneumonia. A common symptom of pneumonia in toddler is coughing. Coughing is the body's natural mechanism in response to the inflammation that occurs in the lungs. Coughing that occurs at night can disrupt sleep quality of toddler with pneumonia. Independent nursing interventions that can be done to overcome this problem is to provide honey as a complementary therapy. Honey is very beneficial for health because it contains natural antibiotic, anti-inflammation, and antioxidant. This study aimed to identify the effectiveness of honey to decrease night time cough and to increase sleep quality of toddler with pneumonia. This study used a quasi-experimental pretest-posttest design with non-equivalent control group with 36 respondents taken by consecutive sampling. Results of data analysis using independent t-test showed differences decrease cough scores (p< 0,001; CI 95% 1,82–3,37) and a significant increase in sleep quality (p< 0,001; CI 95% 0,66–1,67). It is recommended to give honey to toddlers with pneumonia as a safe complementary therapy for treating coughs. Keywords: cough, honey, pneumonia, quality of sleep

Abstract

Depresi dapat dialami oleh lanjut usia (lansia) di penghujung kehidupannya. Depresi bukan merupakan proses penuaan yang normal, melainkan masalah psikososial yang dapat diatasi. Prevalensi depresi berkisar antara 10–15% pada lansia di komunitas, 11–45% pada lansia yang membutuhkan rawat inap, dan sampai 50% pada residen panti jompo. Penelitian ini adalah jenis penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain penelitian pre-eksperimen dengan pendekatan one group pre-post test design. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan secara metode total sampling, sebanyak 28 orang dengan kriteria inklusi lansia yang mengalami depresi tingkat ringan dan sedang. Penelitian dilakukan di Panti Sosial Tresna Werdha Palembang. Hasil penelitian diperoleh rerata skor depresi lansia sebelum life review therapy adalah 11,61 (SD= 2,061), rerata skor depresi sesudah life review therapy 10,07 (SD= 2,035). Hasil uji statistik menunjukkan ada perbedaan skor depresi sebelum dan sesudah dilakukan life review therapy (p= 0,02). Life review therapy direkomendasikan sebagai alternatif tindakan keperawatan jiwa untuk mengatasi depresi pada lansia. Abstract The Effect of Life Review to the Depression in Elderly People. The Depression can be experienced by the elderly at the end of his life. This is not a normal aging process, but a medical illness that can be treated. Its prevalence ranges from 10–15% of the elderly at the community, 11–45% of the elderly age who require inpatient, and up to 50% in nursing home residents. This research is a pre experiment study with one group pre-post test design. This design used a sample group that was interviewed twice. Pretest and post test were done by using ratio scale. The total sample of 28 elderly people with mild and medium depression at Tresna werdha Elderly Social Institution Palembang. The result showed an average depression score elderly people before life review therapy is 11,61 (SD= 2,061), the average depression scores after the therapy 10,07 review life (SD= 2,035). The result showed that there is a significant difference between before and after life review therapy with therapy for depression in elderly (p= 0,002). It is expected for Tresna Werdha Teratai Social Institution in order to increase quality of services especially in an effort to reduce depression in the elderly people in the home by using review life therapy. Keywords: elderly, life review therapy, depression

Abstract

Perpisahan dengan orang tua akibat perawatan pada bayi prematur berpengaruh terhadap proses bonding attachment. Penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi deskriptif pada tujuh partisipan ini menggunakan teknik purpossives sampling yang bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi secara mendalam pengalaman orang tua menerima perilaku caring perawat dalam memfasilitasi bonding attachment bayi prematur di Ruang NICU. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan wawancara mendalam dan dianalisis dengan metode Colaizzi. Hasil analisis data mendapatkan tujuh tema, yaitu proses peningkatan pengetahuan, mampu melakukan perawatan terhadap bayinya, respons ibu terhadap tindakan perawatan yang diberikan, termotivasi dalam melakukan perawatan bayi prematur, terpenuhinya kebutuhan bayi selama dilakukan perawatan,  keterlibatan dalam asuhan keperawatan, dan kepuasan terhadap perawatan. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan asuhan keperawatan dan bonding attachment pada bayi prematur.  Abstract Experience Caring Parents Receive The Behavior of Nurses in Premature Infants Facilitate Bonding Attachment. Separation between parents and premature babies in intensive care unit affects in bonding attachment process. This study was a qualitative research design with descriptive phenomenology approach took 7 participants used Purpossive Sampling Technique. This study aims to explore mother’s experience received nursing caring in facilitated bonding attachment of premature babies. Data were collected with indepht interview and analized with Colaizzi method. The results of data analysis got seven themes: knowledge improving process; capable to cared their babies; mother’s respons with nursing care; was motivated to cared their premature babies, the premature babies needed was fullfiled well; participated in nursing care; and nursing care satisfaction. Abstract

Perilaku caring perawat dapat meningkatkan perubahan positif dalam aspek fisik, psikologis, spiritual, dan sosial. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi hubungan faktor individu dan organisasi dengan perilaku caring perawat. Desain penelitian ini adalah deskriptif korelasi dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh perawat pelaksana di empat ruang rawat inap suatu rumah sakit. Sampel penelitian berjumlah empat puluh tiga perawat secara total sampling. Hasil penelitian ini adalah ada hubungan usia (p= 0,027; α= 0,05), masa kerja (p= 0,001; α= 0,05), kepemimpinan (p= 0,005; α= 0,05), struktur organisasi (p= 0,001; α= 0,05), imbalan (p= 0,037; α= 0,05), dan desain kerja (p= 0,006; α= 0,05) dengan perilaku caring perawat. Saran dari penelitian ini adalah perlunya pembinaan yang berkaitan dengan kepemimpinan dan pengorganisasian pada perawat untuk meningkatkan perilaku caring perawat. Abstract  Nurse Caring Behavior based on Individual and Organization Factors. Nurse caring behavior will increase the positive impacts on physical, psychological, spiritual, and social. The purpose of the study was to idetify how the relationship of individual factors and organizational factors with the nurse caring behavior. The research design was a descriptive correlation using cross sectional. The study population was all nurses practtisioners in 4 (four) wards. Samples of  this study were 43 nurses in total sampling. Results of this study was no related of age (p= 0,027; α= 0,05), year (p= 0,001; α= 0,05), leadership (p= 0,005; α= 0,05), organizational structure (p= 0,001; α= 0,05), reward (p= 0,037; α= 0,05), and design work (p= 0,006; α= 0,05) with the nurse caring behavior. Abstract

Penelitian  ini bertujuan mengetahui efektivitas rational emotive behavior therapy (REBT) berdasarkan profile multimodal therapy terhadap kemampuan klien dan perubahan gejala perilaku kekerasan dan halusinasi di RS Jiwa. Desain penelitian quasi eksperimental dengan jumlah sampel 56 responden. 28 responden memiliki Profile Multimodal Therapy untuk mendapatkan REBT sebagai kelompok intervensi, 28 responden sebagai kelompok non intervensi. Hasil penelitian ditemukan penurunan gejala perilaku kekerasan dan halusinasi lebih besar daripada yang tidak mendapatkan REBT berdasarkan profile multimodal therapy (p value < 0.05). Kemampuan kognitif, afektif dan perilaku klien yang mendapatkan REBT berdasarkan profile multimodal therapy meningkat secara bermakna (p < 0.05) Hasil penelitian ini efektif meningkatkan kemampuan klien kognitif, afektif dan perilaku hingga 57% dan penurunan gejala perilaku kekerasan 48%, penurunan gejala halusinasi 47%,. Profile multimodal therapy direkomendasikan sebagai screening klien yang akan diberikan terapi spesialis dalam hal ini khususnya rational emotive behavior therapyKata kunci: profile multimodal therapy, rational emotive behavior therapy, gejala perilaku kekerasan, gejala haluasinasi, kemampuan kognitif, afektif, perilaku AbstractThis study aims to determine the effectiveness of rational emotive behavior therapy (REBT) profile of multimodal therapy based on the client's ability and changes in symptoms violent behavior and hallucinations in Psychiatric Hospital. Quasi-experimental research design with a number of 56 respondents. 28 respondents had to get a Profile Multimodal Therapy REBT therapy as the intervention group, 28 respondents as a group of non intervention. The research found a decrease symptoms of violent behavior and hallucinations bigger than not getting REBT based profile of multimodal therapy (p<0.05). Cognitive, affective and behavioral clients who get REBT based profile of multimodal therapy increased significantly (p <0.05). Results clients experience a effectively improve cognitive, affective and behavioral to 57 % and reduction in symptoms of violent behavior 48%, reduction in symptoms of hallucinations 47%. Abstract

Masalah keperawatan skizofrenia terbanyak adalah risiko perilaku kekerasan, halusinasi, dan harga diri rendah, dengan 55% mengalami kekambuhan karena tidak patuh minum obat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) dan pendidikan kesehatan kepatuhan minum obat terhadap gejala, kemampuan menerima dan berkomitmen klien skizofrenia. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain quasi eksperimental pre-posttest with control group, dengan jumlah sampel 90 orang klien skizofrenia yang dibagi menjadi 3 kelompok. Hasil penelitian ini ditemukan penurunan gejala risiko perilaku kekerasan, halusinasi dan harga diri rendah serta peningkatan kemampuan menerima dan berkomitmen pada pengobatan dan kepatuhan klien skizofrenia yang mendapatkan ACT dan pendidikan kesehatan kepatuhan minum obat lebih besar secara bermakna dibandingkan kelompok yang hanya mendapatkan terapi ACT (p< 0,05). Terapi ACT dan pendidikan kesehatan kepatuhan minum obat direkomendasikan sebagai terapi keperawatan klien skizofrenia dengan risiko perilaku kekerasan, halusinasi dan harga diri rendah.Abstract Compliance and Commitment to Clients Schizophrenia Increased After Given Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Education Health Medication Adherence. Schizophrenia nursing problems most commonly found is the risk of violent behavior, hallucinations, and low self esteem. Found 55% of client risk violent behavior, hallucinations, and low self-esteem who have a relapse and medication adherence. This study aims to obtain the effects Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Health Education adherence to symptoms, ability to accept and commit to treatment and compliance in schizophrenia clients Mental Hospital of Medan, North Sumatra. This research design quasi-experimental pre-test post-test with control group. This sampling technique was purposive sampling, where the sample is 90 clients with schizophrenia, 30 the intervention group were given Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and medication adherence health education, intervention group were given 30 Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and 30 control group. Results of this study found a reduction in symptoms risk of violent behavior, hallucinations, and low self-esteem and increased ability to accept and commit to the treatment of schizophrenia and compliance client who gets Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and health education medication adherence was significantly greater than the group that only get Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (p< 0,05). Acceptance and commitment therapy and medication adherence health education recommended as a therapeutic nursing and therapy support advanced nursing care for clients in the risk of schizophrenia with violent behavior, hallucinations, and low self esteem. Keywords: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), health education medication adherence, schizophrenia
