Abstract

The making of informative media in the form of three-dimensional animation on Trans Jogja bus routes really requires good project planning so that the process becomes more effective and efficient. In planning a project, it is necessary to consider the time, cost and scope of a project. Project optimization is done by using the Critical Path Method (CPM) method, which is a technique of analyzing network activity activities or project activities that predict total duration. Project optimization planning through the stages starting from the creation of the Work Breakdown Structure, barchart diagrams with Gantt Chart software, critical path calculations, and the final stages with CPM to determine the fastest time possible for the project to be completed. The results of the WBS are obtained by predecessor of each activity and its duration, the calculation of the critical path is 29 days with path a-b-c-d-e-f-g-h-I-j-l-m-n-o, and from the CPM calculation the total float is 0 so the project can be completed on time

Abstract

Cryptography is one of science that learn about securing a message. Message security is done by randomizing the message (encryption) and returned to it’s original form (description). In this study, the designer of the system first and build an application to secure the message by using the Lipat Algorithm method that aims to secure messages consisting of letters, numbers, or symbols. Applications are designed and built running on Mobile Android. The Lipat Algorithm Method applies a fourfold system in the encryption process and the description of the message to be encrypted and in the description will advance 4 (four) characters forward or backward. Based on testing done the application managed to perform the encryption process and description correctly, ranging from short messages to messages as much as 2305 characters.

Abstract

The usage Information Technology of smartphones is increasingly prevalent in various parts of the world, especially the Indonesian people themselves are competing to buy the latest type of smartphone because of user dissatisfaction with the smartphone features offered. This can be seen through users of various ages, ranging from children, teenagers to adults. Likewise for the residents of the Tegalrejo area, the use of information and communication technology has become popular in the community. The purpose of this study was to identify the results of data processing using and utilizing information technology via smartphone by the people of Berbah Sleman Tegalrejo using the quicksort method. Identification results to find out the use and utilization of information technology through smartphones with features that have been used effectively and efficiently by the residents of Tegalrejo Berbah Sleman so as to make a digital literacy community.

Abstract

Lately, PLN as the state electricity company that supplmost of the electricity needs in Indonesia is being hit by a "trial" which is in a row with the burning of several Interbus Transformers (IBT) in several regions. This can be caused by the rupture of the bushing so that it triggers a short circuit and results in the burning of the transformer. However, so far the investigation of other causes has been minimal as well as the effect of the load which is primarily a nonlinear load. Electricity is a device / device that can function if it is electrified. The device / tool is used to convert electrical energy into other energy such as motion, heat, light and so on. Electricity load consists of linear load and non linear load. changes in the use of linear loads to non-linear loads, among others, from incandescent lamps to TL lamps, and many non-linear loads that are widely used such as the use of induction motors (motors used in water pumps, refrigerators, air conditioners, etc.), rectifiers, static power converter (rectifiers and or inverters), electronic ballasts cause harmonics. Harmonics are sinusoidal waves with frequencies which are round multiples of the fundamental frequency. Harmonics can affect the work function of the transformer, which causes more heating to the iron core, which causes an increase in loss. In this study, the losses will be tested if the load is linear and also if it is loaded with non-linear loads. The results showed that for small loads, the response of the two loads showed almost the same current. While for moderate loads there is a difference that has not been so large, and for large loads large currents indicated there are large differences. So that the copper losses and iron losses are greater when the load is large. Given copper losses there is a current flowing in the transformer winding and the presence of resistance in the winding (I2R1 + I2R2). so that the increase in load current will increase copper losses. So thereby increasing copper losses causes a decrease in transformer efficiency.

Abstract

Tube bending is a general term for the process of forming metals used to form pipes or tubes permanently. By utilizing plastic deformation, straight objects are bent to form arches. Metal pipes in the form of arches can be used as a connection to machine construction, circular ladders, bicycle frames, motor frames, furniture, musical instruments. To improve time and energy efficiency in the bending process, a roll bending machine is designed. This machine is also expected to meet the needs of buckling pipes so that it can be used as a business field by the community. This machine can bend pipes 3/4 inch to 1 inch with a thickness of 1 mm.

Abstract

Postweld heat treatment (PWHT) is a common practice among building codes to reduce the residual stress, improve the ductility, and decrease the defects. This article describes the welding joint property of motorcycle crankcase material by taking tungsten inert gas (TIG) welding measures before PWHT on 200°C with holding time of 0,4,6, 8 hours. Test data were analyzed in relation to tensile strength, hardness and microstructure on the welding joint. The regions corresponding to the base metal (BM) and heat-affected zone (HAZ) were studied. The effect of holding time under PWHT on properties of joints can be investigated. The results demonstrated that micro-hardness in the weld and tensile strength decreased with PWHT time prolonging, while tensile strength increased with the extension of PWHT time. The microstructure before PWHT was coarse in the joint. With the extension of holding time under PWHT, the structure obtains fine grain and the characteristic becomes obvious.

Abstract

The process of news administration from the ranks in the area, entered through a fax machine coded in the password room which was then distributed to the destination work unit by courier / caraka. To ensure the confidentiality of news documents, an encryption process is performed using the Blowfish algorithm, this algorithm is chosen because it has the fastest form of other block cipher algorithms (Salama, Elminaam, Mohamed, Kader, & Hadhoud, 2010). Then to guarantee the integrity of the archive, the Whirlpool hash function is used, this algorithm is able to produce hash values that have an output length of 512 bits but with a faster time than the NIST recommendation algorithm, SHA-512 (Cryptopp, 2009), besides Whirlpool is a standard hash function ISO / IEC 10118-3: 2003. For the legalization process and ensuring the authenticity of the news can be fulfilled by the RSA Digital Signature algorithm, the algorithm is chosen because it complies with the NIST FIPS 186-4 standard. The news management application that will be designed is also adjusted to the minimum electronic system requirements in accordance with Law Number 11 of 2008, which can protect the integrity, authenticity, confidentiality and accessibility of electronic information. This research will produce an application that is capable of managing web-based electronic confidential news documents. The application can also guarantee the confidentiality, integrity, and authenticity of managed news documents. It is expected that with this application, it can meet management needs

Abstract

Weather is very critical for aviation. Especially regarding safety in air transportation. Badan Meteorologi, Klimatologi, dan Geofisika (BMKG) in its duties and functions provides aviation weather information, conducts the latest weather observation activities for the needs of takeoff and landing at airports. The World Meteorological Organization (WMO) has targeted automation with a target achievement in 2017. But currently in conducting the latest weather observations, BMKG still uses conventional weather observation systems even though at some airports Automated Weather Observing Systems (AWOS) have been installed. The automated weather observing system is still not fully implemented yet. This study aims to create a blueprint for the implementation of automatic weather observations for aviation services within the BMKG. Guidelines for making blueprint use the Enterprise Architecture Planning (EAP) framework. EAP defines business and architectural needs related to data, applications, and technology needed to implement automation. The final results achieved are in the form of a blueprint for the implementation of automated weather observing system for aviation services within the BMKG which can be a guide for BMKG in achieving the vision related to aviation weather services.

Abstract

Recently the Indonesian people often get inefficiency of electricity usage. On the other side, in Indonesia, the electricity is mostly produced from steam power plant, which require fuel from non-renewable natural resources. So the highness of demand and the occurrence of inefficiency the electricity usage can increase the consumption of natural resource and the air pollution. Therefore, an early warning system are proposed in this study, become one of the various solution than can increase awareness of the people in efficiency of electricity usage. This system requires the input data of electricity usage in the last 6 months, that will be formed the electricity usage trend from each user using linear regression analysis. Furthermore, this trend will predict the electricity usage for next month, this is used as the limit to give the warning from the system. The outcome from this study is the system that can provide a warning to users if their electricity usage run over the certain limits.

Abstract

Accident of some countries that have high gross domestic product (GDP) significantly increasing[1]. This event cause fatal for passengers especially if there an accident on the front vehicle[3]. Therefore, the main aspects of car design are very important, one of them is  crash box. Crash boxes are designed to absorb impact energy due to collisions through progressive buckling. In the crushing box design, the tube can be given continuity in the form of a circular hole that has been carried out by previous researchers which provides a deceleration at the safety level on passenger body. In this study a numerical analysis conducted using tube with ellipse discontinuity by varying the ratio of ellipse hole in the crushing box to D/b ratio 0.0, 0.2, 0.3, 0.5. The results of this study found that the tube with D/b 0.0 has the highest peak  force than the other ratio.
