Abstract

The research objective was to compare the academic achievement of practical courses before the pandemic period and after the pandemic period as a consideration for researchers to modify distance learning which is currently still ongoing. The research carried out included the type of Quasi-Experimental Designs using the Nonequivalent Comparison Group Design. The practical subjects studied were Pencak Silat and Volleyball Learning before the pandemic and during the pandemic. Data collection for Pencak Silat group and the Volleyball Group before and during the Pandemic Period,  from academic achievements scores for the Mid-Semester Examination and the Final Semester Examination. The group before the pandemic, all assessments of the Midterm Examination and the End of Semester Examination practiced directly in front of the Lecturer, while for the group during the pandemic, students recorded and uploaded to Youtube, then the video link sent to E-learning to be assessed by the Lecturer. Group Pencak Silat and Volleyball before pandemic, there are students of class 2018, while group Pencak Silat and Volleyball during pandemic, there area students of class 2020. Group Pencak Silat before pandemic 20 students, Group Pencak Silat during pandemic 20 students, group Volleyball before pandemic 20 students, and group Volleyball during pandemic 20 students. So, total 80 students were sampled in this research. Based on the results of statistical tests using SPPS with the Independent Sample T-Test, the Sig. (2-tailed) 0.011 <0.025, so Ho is rejected, so H1 is accepted. In other words, there is a significant difference between the academic achievement of the Pencak Silat Subject before and during the Pandemic Period. Based on the results of statistical tests using SPPS with the Independent Sample T-Test, the Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.000 <0.025 then Ho is rejected so that H1 is accepted. In other words, there is a significant difference between the academic achievement of volleyball learning subjects before and during the pandemic. The group that took the Pencak Silat Course before the pandemic and during the pandemic showed pre-test data for the group's Mean Value before the pandemic of 73.75 > 66.75 during the pandemic, and post-test data for the group's Mean Value before the pandemic of 77.80 > 69.80 during the pandemic, thus showing The mean value of the group before the pandemic was higher than the group during pandemic for students who took the Pencak Silat Course. The group that took the Volleyball Learning Course before the pandemic and during the pandemic showed pre-test data for the group's Mean Value before the pandemic of 70.75 > 64.05 during the pandemic, and post-test data for the group's Mean Value before the pandemic of 78.25 > 68.35 during the pandemic, so that shows the Mean value of the group before the pandemic was higher than the group during the pandemic for students who took the Volleyball Learning Course. The conclusion drawn from the description of the data above, shows the difference in the average value where the group before the pandemic has a higher average than during pandemic. Lecturers need to find solutions so that through online lectures students' academic achievement remains the same as academic achievement during face-to-face lectures.

Abstract

The level of motivation and learning outcomes of physical education students is still in the low category, especially in participating in adaptive physical education lectures. Therefore, an effective adaptive physical education learning design or model is needed so that learning objectives can be achieved optimally. The learning model demanded by students today is a learning model that is open, flexible, accessible to students wherever and whenever. For this reason, one alternative to overcome low motivation and learning outcomes is to combine the flipped classroom and team games tournament learning models. The research method used is classroom action research using two cycles consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection. Instruments and data collection techniques used observation guides, questionnaires, and tests. Qualitative descriptive techniques are used to analyze the results of observations, while quantitative descriptive techniques are used to analyze the results of questionnaires and learning outcomes. Based on the results of data analysis, it can be seen that the application of flipped classrooms and team games tournaments can increase motivation and adaptive physical education learning outcomes.

Abstract

Driven by a qualitative study which data from individual interviews were analyzed using Malterud's systematic text condensation, this research analyzed how educators perceived Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) competencies and compassion fatigue during online teaching in the COVID-19 pandemic among 20 educators at Universitas Negeri Medan. This study discovered two emotions such as satisfaction and relief. Enjoyment of and satisfaction with teaching, contentment with teaching, and pride might all be classified as satisfaction, while sentiments of finding teaching scary, burdensome, and unpleasant, as well as a lack of technological capability, could be classified as relief. The educators also show the characteristics of compassion fatigue that have increased since the pandemic, including physical or emotional exhaustion, feelings of being overwhelmed or helpless, feelings of sadness and anxiety, and reduced empathy.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to increase reading interest and research proposal writing skills. The type of research used is classroom action with two cycles. The participants in this study were all seventh-semester physical education students who attended the proposal seminar lecture, totaling 80 students. Data collection techniques used observation guides, questionnaires, and product assessments in the form of research proposals. Data analysis techniques using categories and percentages. Based on the results of data analysis, it was known that in cycle 1 students' interest in reading was in the medium category, and cycle 2 is in the high category. Meanwhile, students' research proposal writing skills in cycle 1 was in the medium category, and in cycle 2 was in the high category. Classical completeness in cycle 1 was 18.75% for reading interest, and 17.5% for research proposal writing skills. Meanwhile, classical completeness in cycle 2 in this study was 81.25% for reading interest, and 82.5% for research proposal writing skills. So it can be concluded that the application of project-based blended learning increased reading interest and research proposal writing skills.

Abstract

The learning of the table tennis course is a practical course where the characteristics are unique so that mastery of basic techniques is highly dependent on doing more repetitions. The correct movement will appear along with the automation of the motion. The purpose of the research and development of this table tennis throwing device is to (1) develop a table tennis throwing tool for the process of implementing table tennis learning, (2) obtain empirical data about the feasibility of the table tennis throwing tool that has been developed. The ultimate goal of this development research is to produce a product in the form of learning media, namely a table tennis ejection tool that can provide meaningful movement experiences and can help improve basic technical skills to the ability to play table tennis. The method used Research and Development (R&D) methods from Borg and Gall. The research subjects are college students of Sports Education at Universitas Bina Darma. Instrument test used observation and questionnaires. Data analysis techniques were carried out with qualitative and quantitative approaches. This product is produced through the research and development stage. The resulting product is a table tennis ball. Based on the product trial analysis phase, the resulting product answers the needs and becomes a solution for lecturers and students in the implementation of table tennis course learning. Based on the results of validation tests, instrument reliability tests, small group try-out and field try group, this table tennis ejection tool is feasible and can be used in learning table tennis theory and practice courses.
