Abstract

This study was conducted with the aims of (1) developing teaching materials to write short with storyboard media on high school students; (2) make a lesson plan of writing short story with storyboard media at grade X of high school students; (3) implementation of writing short story with storyboard media at rade X of high school students; (4) knowing the effectiveness of teaching materials in writing short story by using storyboard media at grade X of high school students. This study need a development research method adapted from the Borg and Gall development model with 10 stages beginning with needs analysis, planning, initial product development, initial product revision, product trial, product revision, small field trial, revision product, operational field test (large group), final product revision, and product dissemination and implementation. Based on the data analysis, it was concluded that the teaching materials to write short story with the developed storyboard media was considered feasible and effective to be used as teaching materials for Bahasa Indonesia at Grade X of high school students.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the form, function, and meaning of affix attached to the basic form of Benuaq language in Kampung Jengan Danum, Damai District, West Kutai Regency. This research is qualitative research with the technique of data analysis is BUL (Bagi Unsur Langsung) technique. This study was conducted in Kampung Jengan Danum, Damai District, West Kutai Regency. The research data is the entire word affixed spoken of native speakers Benuaq Kampung Jengan Danum. Data collection techniques used are recording techniques, cakap libat semuka technique, and simak cakap technique. The results showed that the Dayak Benuaq language in Kampung Jengan Danum has three forms affix, that is prefixes, suffixes, and combination of affixes. The prefixes are: {be-}, {pe-}, {peN-}, {te-}, and {N-}. The suffixes are: {tn}. The combination of affixes are: {ke- + N-} and {sek + N-}. The affix converts the categories of adjectives into verbs, verbs into adjectives, nouns into verbs, and nouns into adjectives. The meaning of the affixation of the Benuaq Dayak’s basic word is to declare an action, result of, a job, and to say to do work.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the pronoun of Dayak Benuaq language charm and its use in the community in Kecamatan Muara Lawa. In addition, this research is also a step to preserve one of Indonesia’s wealth of language, especially the Dayak language Benuaq. It is hoped that this research can explore and explore local wisdom values in the Dayak Benuaq community. The type of this research is descriptive qualitative research, that is research based on existing fact or phenomenon that empirically use Dayak Benuaq language. The technique of provision of data used is the technique of fishing rod, technique, skillful technique of advance, technological skill tansemuka, record recording technique. In the analysis of data used the method of agih or distributional, that is analyzing the language system or the whole rules that are set in the language based on the behavior or the characteristics of grammar on certain lingual units The results showed that the pronoun persona of the Dayak Benuaq language consists of three self-referential pronouns (1) the first single pronoun and the first plural pronoun consisting of ap, aqq, aweq, kaiq, and takaq, referring to the person to whom; (2) the pronouns of the second person singular and the pronouns of the second plural person consisting of aweq, ko, and ka, and referring to the person in question; (3) The third singular pronoun Persona and the third plural pronoun consisting of uhak, ongan, mali, and ulutn. The use of pronoun persona in Dayak Benuaq language is in accordance with the role of social factors (age, social status, and familiarity) on the use of pronouns persona, the use of pronouns persona in Dayak language Benuaq is adapted to the circumstances in communication, ie in terms of age, respected person or people who have a relationship of intimacy or kinship.

Abstract

This study aims to reveal the social behavior and the factors that influence the social behavior of the main character in Pengakuan Pariyem novel by Linus Suryadi. To achieve these goals, this study used social psychology theory and interpersonal theory (FIRO—Fundamental Interpersonal Relation-Orientation) popularized by William C. Schultz. This research is a qualitative research and descriptive method with psychology of literature studies. The results showed that when viewed from the type of inclusion, Pariyem was a figure who had social behavior. Social behavior found in Pariyem arises from his social interaction with several figures.

Abstract

Language cannot be separated from culture. In fact, language is the cultural expression of a nation. An agrarian culture in Indonesian has undergone internalization, giving birth to new words and phrases. The results of this study show several words and phrases which are idioms in Indonesian with the process of internalization of agrarian culture. The words and phrases of the agrarian culture can be found in agricultural terms, for example lahan basah, membanting tulang, memeras keringat, panen, mencairkan, and others. These words and phrases have blended in people's minds and expressed everyday culture. Who knows who started and where it came from. However, the Indonesian language user community has accepted these terms as ancestral cultural heritage. Understanding idioms seems difficult if you only understand the meaning of conventions from Indonesian speakers. The semantic load contained in the concept of idioms is too long a derivative chain. Therefore, this paper bridges Indonesian language users to understand the concept of Indonesian idioms which is an internalization of the Indonesian agrarian culture itself.

Abstract

Literature and character education are two things that can not be separated. Literature as a reflection of the life of the community, generally teaches the reader to be able to understand the wisdom of the displayed story. Literature can be used as a medium of learning, especially in the process of internalization of the value of character education to learners. The value of character education in the literary work is expected to be followed by the students. Currently Indonesia is experiencing moral degradation. The need for moral cultivation to the learners aims to create human beings who are virtuous in the future. Each subject has the right to internalize character education to learners. So in the Indonesian language, the process of characterization of character education can be done when learning on literary materials. This study aims to describe the value of character education in Solopos children's stories. this research is included in qualitative discrptive research. The results of this study concluded that in the story Solopos child, there is a value of character education that can be taught to learners, especially at elementary school level. The results showed that this child's story can be used as a reference for teachers, as a medium to internalize character education at elementary school level.

Abstract

The research materials development begins from the procurement process of the learning materials that are always revised with an uncertain time, contains a theme that is not necessarily in accordance with the problems that exist in the unit of education. The research is also conducted for positive character reinforcement because arguing activities often lead to selfishness in an effort to defend opinion, so debate participants often do not control the ethics of speech when arguing. Development research at class x students of SMA YPM Diponegoro Tenggarong Seberang used R&D technique approve and method while the learning system is reinforced Dick & Carey model. In collecting techniques are done by language validation techniques experts, tests, leaner’ responses, teacher’s responses, and interviews. The result showed that 20 out of 25 students (80%) completed the assessment of knowledge. Based on the observation of all teams capable of performing their duties well. The use of this method also makes the students able to achieve learning goals up to 96%. Based on the result of discussions with various parties, the role playing method is generally feasible to be used in the learning process and able to strengthen the character of leaners.

Abstract

This study aims to determine (1) teacher teaching activities in applying Discovery Learning Think Talk Write (DL-TTW) learning models, (2) student learning activities in implementing the Discovery Learning Think Talk Write (DL-TTW) model, (3) increased motivation to learn to write text on student reviews in applying the Discovery Learning Think Talk Write (DL-TTW) Learning model, (4) improvement of learning outcomes writing text review in the application of the Discovery Learning Think Talk Write (DL-TTW) learning model. This research is a classroom action research with four stages including: planning, action, observation and reflection. The subjects of this study were VIII B students of Al-Muhajirin Middle School in Muara Badak Kab. Kutai Kertanegara 2017/2018 school year, totaling 28 students. Data collection techniques used are observation, documentation, interviews, field notes and tests.Data validity in this study uses data source triangulation and method triangulation. The data analysis technique used is an interactive analysis model developed by Miles and Huberman which consists of four components, namely data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study are 1) teacher teaching activities have increased by an average of 64.71% in cycle I and an average of 87.25% in cycle II, 2) student learning activities have increased with an average of 54.44% in cycle I and an average of 84.44% in cycle II, 3) student learning motivation has increased by an average of 53.83% in cycle I and an average of 84.19% in cycle II, 4) student learning outcomes have increased with an average of 52.38% in cycle I and an average of 84.52% in cycle II. It can be concluded that the implementation of the model with this learning strategy has increased.

Abstract

This study aims to find out the relationship between reading interest and the ability to write exposition text of class XI students of SMK Negeri 9 Samarinda. This research is a quantitative research with Product Moment correlation analysis. The population in this study were class XI students of SMK Negeri 9, which amounted to 261 students. The research sample amounted to 166 students. The sampling technique used cluster random sampling. There were three variables in this study, two independent variables and one dependent variable. Questionnaires and tests were used to collect the data. Based on the analysis of the data it can be concluded it seems that there is a positive and significant relationship between reading interest in the ability to write exposition texts in class XI students of SMK Negeri 9 Samarinda which is indicated by a correlation coefficient (rx1y) of 0.305 and a calculated value greater than rtable with N = 166 at the error rate of 5% (0.305> 0.159) which means that the higher the reading interest of students, the higher the ability to write exposition text.

Abstract

This study aims to develop text learning materials to write complex procedures with learning discovery learning model using audio visual media (video). The research form used is research and development method (R&D). The design used in the research and development of this teaching material adopted from Borg and Gall design model. This development research was conducted in SMA. The result of validation of this teaching material proved to be valid with the average of validation of content (material) 82% said valid, validation of 100% validity of the linguist, and the validation result of the media expert on the 93% video assessment stated very valid and on the handbook rating 84% students stated very valid. The results of the class XI test of SMA showed 86% stated very valid. From the result of data analysis through t-test formula yield Thitung (13,68)> ttabel (1,703), so there is cognitive difference between before and after student use instructional material developed in book with learning discovery learning modeling using audio-visual media with material text of complex class XI procedures. Then the results of the development that has been done to improve student learning outcomes.
