Abstract

Vocational Colege required a lot of practice. The practice of Refrigeration System, one of practice is charging refrigerant and vacuuming the refrigeration system. Because it was carried out by several groups, what happened was that the refrigerant that had been put into the system was wasted during the process of vacuuming the other groups. This causes an impact on the environment and the health and safety of the practitioner. The type of refrigerant used by the practitioner is the type of HCFC-22 or R-22, which has begun to be limited in use because it is less friendly to the environment and causes damage to the ozone layer on earth. One of the efforts to overcome the large amount of refrigerant that is released into the environment is to manufacture a refrigerant recovery device. This tool is used to take refrigerant from the system into the recovery tube prior to the practice of vacuuming, so as to minimize the wasting of refrigerant into the surrounding air. This study aims to determine how efficient the use of refrigerant is in the Refrigeration System practicum using a refrigerant recovery device. The method used is to compare the amount of refrigerant that enters and leaves during the vacuum process, with and without a refrigerant recovery device. From the results of the research, the efficiency values of refrigerant saving for practice using refrigerant recovery tools were 65.22%; 65.00%; 66.67%; 77.78% and 88.24%. So it can be concluded that the use of refrigerant recovery is able to save the use of refrigerant in the practice of the Refrigeration System.

Abstract

The management of the survey and mapping laboratory at the Civil Engineering Department of the State Polytechnic of Malang so far were used the conventional method, recording stock of equipment and materials supplies and the process of borrowing and returning equipment is done by filling out work papers or forms that are quite a lot so the process is quite time-consuming. The purpose of this research is to create a laboratory management information system using the Delphi 7.0 program, it is hoped that laboratory management that is integrated with computers can make laboratory activities more effective and efficient. By using the research and development (R&D) method, the following research results were obtained: a) a database system that can accommodate the recording of all laboratory management activities; b) software as an interface between laboratory users and the database system. From the series of research that has been carried out, it can be concluded that with an information system that has made service activities in the survey and mapping laboratory more effectively and efficiently.

Abstract

Online practicum is one of the learning solutions during the pandemic but requires adjustments both in terms of material and practicum modules. The purpose of this study was to develop a Digital Fundamental physics Practicum Module on Electromagnetic Materials. The module developed is in the form of a digital module for Fundamental physics Practicum assisted by an integrated practicum video. The Research and Development Model chosen is  a    4-D Development Model which has four process stages, namely Define, Design, Development, and Disseminate. The results of the validation of the material experts obtained that the coverage and accuracy aspects of the material obtained a percentage score of 80% and the aspect of material recency received a score of 93%. The results of the validation of linguists found that aspects of language suitability and communicative use of language obtained a percentage score of 93%. In addition, the aspect of using language that stimulates student curiosity has a score of 80%. The results of media expert validation found that the media presented in the digital practicum module had the accuracy of using media in the form of images and videos, aesthetics in images and videos, as well as a clear and systematic description of video interpretation with an average score of 93%. The feasibility test resulted in an average percentage score of 86%, this means that the module is in the very feasible category

Abstract

The Livestock Product Processing Technology Laboratory is one of the centers of practicum, research or community service activities at the Banyuwangi State Polytechnic where it has a hatchery machine with a capacity of 500 grains, the hatchery machine has been modified so that the temperature and humidity can be controlled properly, but the machine still has some disadvantages. In addition to frequent errors in the heater, The system used still uses an on/off control system as a temperature and humidity regulator, so it can cause over shoot or under shoot which can cause fluctuations in temperature and humidity, so it is necessary to apply Proposional-Integral-Derifativ (PID) control which is able to accelerate the response of a system, eliminate offsets and produce large initial changes The purpose of this study was to determine the performance of the tool by applying PID control to hatchery machines that were tested to hatchability and Knowing the temperature and humidity settings to get the best results from the application of PID control on the hatchery machine. This research began with the preparation of the PID control series, namely making hardware and software designs using Arduino, sterilizing hatchery machines and setting temperatures of 37ºC and temperatures of 38ºC and humidity of 65 and 67%, entering eggs for 21 days and collecting data, hatchability and hatching. The results showed that PID control provided constant temperature and humidity stability at 37ºC and 38ºC temperatures, the best temperature and humidity use treatment at 38ºC was able to hatchability of 78.26%.

Abstract

The EDM sinking process is the process of cutting non-conventional workpieces by using electric sparks that occur when two electric poles are close together, the high temperature of the electric sparks can cause the workpiece particles are eroded and release to become burr in a very small size. The cutting rate in this process is influenced by many factors, including characteristics of the material, type of electrode, cutting parameters, condition of the coolant and  method of spraying the coolant. This study aims to find optimum conditions for the EDM process with  HMD5 steel  workpieces, by using taguchi method wich is effective in making decisions with more than one variable. After all experiments and analysis, the results obtained are spark area level 1 or 50-75, current level 3 or 12A, pulse on time level 2 or 35 ms and pulse off time level 3 or 32 ms, which are the parameters with the most optimum material rete removal. After testing the optimazion result, MRR value increase from 20.26 mm3/min to 33.08 mm3/min and we have conclusion that the taguchi method can help to optimized parameter in EDM process.
