Jurnal Eksakta Pendidikan (JEP) merupakan suatu jurnal nasional yang secara khusus mempublikasi artikel-artikel dari hasil penelitian yang relevan dengan inovasi dan kreativitas dalam pendidikan Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam (MIPA). Ruang lingkup inovasi dan kreativitas hasil penelitian yang dipublikasi mencakup perencanaan pembelajaran, pelaksanaan pembelajaran, evaluasi pembelajaran, pengembangan perangkat pembelajaran, pengembangan pembelajaran, pengembangan evaluasi pembelajaran, dan kebijakan pendidikan dalam bidang pendidikan MIPA. JEP diterbitkan oleh Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam Universitas Negeri Padang secara berkala dua kali dalam setahun yaitu bulai Mei dan November.

Abstract

One of the problems found in the implementation of the curriculum of 2013 is not all competency skills can be performed well. Therefore, to overcome these problems, virtual laboratory designed to competencies skill  of physics. One of the design objectives virtual laboratory is to improve the quality of education and learning in physics in high school. The method used in this study is a research method development four D model with the definition phase , design phase , development phase, and dissemination phase.  Research has reached the stage of development and has been tested valid specialist. The instrument used in the research is a questionnaire consisting of: 1) the material substance; 2) The display of visual communication; 3) instructional design; 4) the use of software;  and 5) Linguistic. The results obtained to test the validity in general has been very good category (85.6), so that the design of virtual labs designed can already be used in high school.

Abstract

Based on observations in  atomic physics and nuclear learning, there are some problems see during two semester  of the course such as less using of instructional materials and instructional media  in the process of learning. In addition, content of book  used are books published in the 1990s  years and  never have been updated. The quantity of books of atomic physics and nuclear in the library is still very little. Therefore developed electronic modul (E-modul). This research used descriptif research. E-module is made using 3D software pageflip professional. E-Module has been validated by experts for media and content of  e-module. The result was perception of students on average 83.5% on core structure module and 89 % on radioactivity module with very good category.

Abstract

Scientific publication is one of teacher’s duty to increase their rank, form III/b to III/c. Base on interview with Senior High School teachers at Pesisir Selatan regency, we know that difficult for them to produce scientific publication caused by their ability on choosing data analysis technique which relevant to their case, teachers cannot use the statistical software because its not familiar for them, and they have low quality in interpreting data analysis result. To solve the problems, we offer a workshop of data analysis on scientific writing using statistical software. The target audiences of this workshop is a Group of Teachers on Mathematics Major (MGMP) in Pesisir Selatan. In this workshop, participants are given the basic concept and how to write a scientific writing, basic concept of statistics, and introduction to statistical software i.e. Minitab and SPSS. Beside that, with practical work, the participants learn how to use statistical software and interpretate the data analysis result. Result of the workshops are (1) increasing the ability of participants skills on analysis the data using statistical software and interpretate it.

Abstract

The research is classroom action research by applying the model of Discovery Learning, which aims to improve the competence of students on the Solar System lesson in natural science learning in ninth grade. This study was conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consists of three face to face.  Each four sessions consists of planning, action, observation and test. Based on data analysis is seen an increase in the competence affective, psychomotor and cognitive of student from the first cycle to the second cycle. Based on the results of this research is concluded that there was an in-crease in student learning outcomes. So it can be ascertained that the Discovery Learning model is appropriate to be implemented in order to improve the competence of students.

Abstract

Experiment is important in physics to explain and describe a physical phenomenon and its characteristics. For this reason physics teachers should conduct the physics experiment activities to motivate students in learning and to improve scientific process skills, scientific attitudes, and student understanding in physics learning. However, in the experiment activities of physics were found many problems such as experiment equipment was insufficient, there is no equipment, equipment can’t operated well, and so on. An alternative solution to solve this problem was to do the video analysis and modeling tool tracker on physics teacher. The purpose of this research was to investigate the effects of the implementation the tracker video analysis and modeling tool on physics teachers. The research design was pretest and postest for one group sample. The sample of research was 26 physics teachers of Physics MGMP teacher in Agam district of West Sumatera. Instruments to collect the data consist of pretest and postest sheet, performance assessment sheet of video analysis product and questionnaires sheet of physics teachers. Data analysis techniques include descriptive statistical analysis, normality test, homogeneity test and paired comparison test for one group sample. From the data analysis, it can be stated that: 1). the average value of video analysis products from physics teachers is 85.10 and this value can be classified into very good category, 2). the average value of responses of physics teachers on training implementation of video analysis and tool modeling is 73.81 and this average value can be grouped into good category, and 3). the implementation of video analysis training of object motion video by using tracker software is effective to improve the understanding the physics MGMP teachers in Agam district on learning material of tracker video analysis and modeling tool, but the average value of understanding still in the low category.

Abstract

Quasi experiment research with randomized control posttest group only design was carried out to determine the effectiveness of using a discovery learning based module on students learning outcome. Grade XI MIA-1 to MIA-4 students academic year 2015/2016 in SMAN 7 Padang became population of this study. Through cluster sampling technique, grade XI MIA-1 and grade XI MIA-4 were chosen as experiment and control classes respectively. The experiment class was taught using discovery learning based module in buffer solution topic while the control class was taught the same topic conventionally without the module. Research instrument used was cognitive learning outcome test with multiple choice form. Data showed that the mean test score of experiement class (78.84) was higher than that of control class (71.09). Normality and homogenity test proved that both classes were homogeneous and normally distributed. T-test, as data analysis taken, showed that t-count (3,51) is bigger than t-table (1.67). Thus, it could be concluded that students’ cognitive learning outcome in experiment class is significantly higher than that in control class. The use of discovery learning-based module in buffer solution topic was effective in increasing learning outcome of grade XI MIA students in SMAN 7 Padang.

Abstract

This research aims to produce instrument for measuring chemical literacy assessment in basic chemistry courses with theme “water as a universal solvent”. The construction of this measuring instrument is adapted to the PISA (Programme for International Student Assessment) problem’s characteristics and the Syllaby of Basic Chemistry in KKNI-Indonesian National Qualification Framework. The PISA is a cross-country study conducted periodically to monitor the outcomes of learners achievement in each participating country. So far, studies conducted by PISA include reading literacy, mathematic literacy and scientific literacy. Refered to the scientific competence of the PISA study on science literacy, an assessment designed to measure the chemical literacy of the chemistry department’s students in UNP. The research model used is MER (Model of Educational Reconstruction). The validity and reliability values of discourse questions is measured using the software ANATES. Based on the acquisition of these values is obtained a valid and reliable chemical literacy questions. There are four question items limited response on the theme with valid category, the acquisition value of test reliability is 0,60 and has a difficulty index and distinguishing good

Abstract

The aims of this study was to determine the effect of field trip Mangrove Pulau Dua Nature Reserve on the scientific attitude of high school students. The research method is used quasi experiment. On the design using two classes, experimental class and control class. The population is used the students of grade X SMA Negeri A Kota Serang. Data were obtained from a scientific attitude questionnaire calculated using MSI (Methode of Successive Interval) and a questionnaire of teacher and student responses regarding the implementation of learning. The results showed that there was no significant difference of scientific attitude between the experimental class and the control class.

Abstract

Remedial program is given to the students who do not pass the minimum criteria of learning result. Based on the “KTSP” Technical guidance evaluation in 2008 and 2009, generally teacher only gave retest to the student who didn’t pass the examination, without giving any treatment to pass the learning outcome which was not pass before. It happened because there wasn’t enough time to do this program. The solution was by using learning social media Edmodo which can be accessed online, so the students can do remedial program whenever and wherever they want without preparing remedial time at school. So, the Chemistry teachers in Kabupaten Solok was trained to use edmodo for remedial program. Besides, this media was also used for online teacher forum. This training was evaluated through questioner about practicality of social media edmodo for remedial program and online teacher forum. The result was analyzed by Kappa Cohen Formula with the value of k is 0,7, it means has high practice value.
