Abstract

This study specifically aims to analyze the contribution of need satisfaction for autonomy, need satisfaction for competence, and need satisfaction for relatedness that is associated with teacher teaching motivation. The participants of this study were 84 early childhood education programs teachers in Kediri Regency and Tulungagung Regency (100% women, Mage = 31.71 years; SD = 8.86). Data were collected using the Basic Need Satisfaction in General Scale and the Autonomous Motivation for Teaching Questionnaire presented in Indonesian language. Data analysis in this study used descriptive statistical techniques and Pearson correlation technique. The results shows that there is no significant correlation between need satisfaction for autonomy with teaching motivation (r= .043; p = .585), there is significant correlation between need satisfaction for relatedness with teaching motivation (r= .208; p = .008), and there is significant correlation between need satisfaction for competence with teaching motivation (r= .167; p = .031). Understanding teaching motivation based on self-determination may help teachers in disadvantaged areas to improve and recognize self-potential, so that teachers can develop themselves by optimizing need satisfaction as a factor that influences the teacher's activities in teaching.

Abstract

Psychological capital in students is a positive psychological condition that enables students to deal with uncomfortable situation so that they could finish their study in college and prepare themselves to enter professional world. This study aims to test the correlation between family support and psychological capital in college students. In total, 126 students joined the study. Data were collected using the Family Support Scale (21 items; α = 0.892) and the Psychological Capital Scale (20 items; α = 0.892). Data analysis using simple regression analysis revealed a positive significant correlation between family support and psychological capital (r = 0.215; p = 0.008).

Abstract

Resiko bekerja sebagai tenaga kerja Indonesia (TKI) di luar negeri tidaklah kecil. Kasus-kasus penganiayaan terhadap TKI yang bekerja di luar negeri banyak terjadi. Bekerja sebagai TKI di luar negeri bukanlah sesuatu yang mudah, karena diperlukan berbagai keterampilan khusus, terutama terkait dengan pengetahuan, ketrampilan yang memadai, dan bahasa pengantar di negara tujuan. Hal tersebut menimbulkan kecemasan pada calon tenaga kerja Indonesia (CTKI) wanita yang hendak diberangkatkan ke luar negeri. Optimisme akan masa depan yang akan diraih oleh CTKI wanita dapat memberikan harapan yang positif sehingga akan meningkatkan motivasi untuk belajar serta berlatih sebelum diberangkatkan ke luar negeri. Optimisme merupakan kecenderungan untuk mempercayai bahwa hal-hal baik akan terjadi daripada hal-hal buruk dalam kehidupan. Munculnya optimisme pada CTKI wanita tidak lepas dari karakteristik kepribadian yang dimiliki salah satunya adalah kepribadian hardiness. Karakter kepribadian hardiness mempunyai pengaruh yang positif pada berbagai status individu dan berfungsi sebagai sumber perlawanan pada saat individu menemui kejadian yang menimbulkan stres. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara kepribadian hardiness dengan optimisme pada CTKI wanita di BLKLN Disnakertrans Jateng. Hipotesis dalam penelitian ini adalah ada hubungan positif antara hardiness dengan optimisme. Subjek penelitian adalah CTKI wanita yang hendak diberangkatkan ke luar negeri sebagai penata laksana rumah tangga. Jumlah subjek penelitian sebanyak 66 orang, berusia antara 22- 41 tahun. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan dua buah skala yaitu skala hardiness dan skala optimisme. Skala hardiness disusun berdasarkan teori yang dikemukakan Kobasa (1984, dalam Kreitner, 2005), skala optimisme menggunakan adaptasi LOT-R (Life Orientation Test Revised) (Scheier, Carver, & Bridges, 1994). Hasil analisis menunjukkan adanya hubungan positif dan signifikan antara hardiness dengan optimisme pada CTKI wanita di BLKLN Disnakertrans Jateng. Hal tersebut ditunjukkan dengan angka korelasi rxy = 0,664 dengan p = 0,000 (p<0,05). Semakin tinggi hardiness maka optimisme yang dimiliki semakin tinggi. Sebaliknya, semakin rendah hardiness yang dimiliki, maka optimisme akan semakin rendah pada CTKI wanita di BLKLN Disnakertrans Jateng. Hardiness memberikan sumbangan efektif 44,1% terhadap optimisme sedangkan sisanya sebesar 55,9% dipengaruhi oleh variabel lain. Abstract

One of the factors causing high rates of workplace accidents is the human factor, i.e., the view that the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will cause the work discomfort and reduce the work speed so it will reduce the productivity. This attitude discourages employees to use PPE set by the company. This study was aimed to determine the effect of the provision of information and structured discussion on changes in employee attitudes towards the use of PPE. The design of experiment used in this research was multiple treatments and control with pretest, which involved two experimental groups and one control group. The first experimental group (EG1) was treated with the provision of information (academic detailing) and structured discussion. The second experimental group (EG2) received structured discussion without any provision of information. The control group (CG) was not given any treatment. The study involved 48 subjects, i.e. 16 people on EG1, 17 people on EG2, and 15 people in the CG. Statistical analysis using mixed ANOVA showed that there was a significant change in attitude towards the use of PPE (F=12.670; p<0.001) lead to more negative attitude. The research also found that there were no differences in attitudes toward the use of PPE among groups (F=1.178; p>0.05).

Abstract

Budaya patriarki yang berorientasi pada kekuasaan laki-laki, memberikan kedudukan dankekuasaan yang lebih dominan kepada laki-laki, sehingga kedudukan perempuan menjadi lemahdan mendorong perempuan untuk menjadi tergantung dengan laki-laki, begitu pula dalamhubungan rumah tangga. Ketergantungan istri kepada suami secara ekonomi dalam rumah tanggaseringkali menjadi penyebab istri menjadi rentan terhadap tindakan kekerasan dalam rumahtangga. Kemandirian dengan cara bekerja merupakan suatu usaha agar istri memiliki kemampuandalam mengurangi ketergantungan terhadap suami, sehingga istri lebih dapat menentukan sikapdalam menghadapi masalah, salah satunya dalam menghadapi kekerasan yang dilakukan suami.Penelitian ini berusaha mengungkap hubungan antara kemandirian dengan sikap terhadapkekerasan suami pada istri yang bekerja, di Kelurahan Sampangan, Kecamatan Gajah MungkurSemarang. Subjek penelitian ini adalah istri yang bekerja di bidang swasta, usia 21-40 tahun dansudah mempunyai anak. Metode pengambilan data menggunakan dua skala yaitu, skalakemandirian dengan 39 aitem dengan = 0,9308 dan skala sikap terhadap kekerasan suami padaistri dengan 40 aitem dengan = 0,9442. Pengujian hipotesis menunjukkan skor koefisien korelasisebesar rxy= -0,524 dengan p=0,001 (p<0,01). Arah hubungan yang negatif menunjukkan bahwasemakin tinggi kemandirian istri yang bekerja, maka semakin negatif sikap terhadap kekerasandalam rumah tangga atau sikap cenderung menolak kekerasan. Sebaliknya semakin rendahtingkat kemandirian, maka semakin positif sikap terhadap kekerasan suami pada istri.Kemandirian memberikan sumbangan efektif sebesar 27,4 % terhadap sikap terhadapkekerasan dalam rumah tangga, sedangkan sebesar 72,6 % sikap istri terhadap kekerasan yangdilakukan suami dipengaruhi oleh faktor-faktor lain, misalnya perasaan takut akan pembalasanyang dilakukan suami, merasa tidak ada tempat lain yang dituju, takut adanya stigma sosial danisolasi sosial, kurangnya kepercayaan diri, takut adanya perlakuan kejam, memikirkankepentingan anak, ancaman dari pelaku dengan melukai orang lain yang disayang korban, sertaistri masih mencintai suami.Kata Kunci: kemandirian, sikap terhadap kekerasan suami pada istri, istri bekerja

Abstract

Empathy is a part of important things to support students with special needs for their interpersonal development. Moreover, it is also a prominent factor of student’s mental health in inclusive school. This research aimed to investigate student’s empathy based on their educational level. The methods of this research was quantitative.,the instruments used were Empathy Scale from Index of Empathy for Children and Adolescents. Anova and t-test were used to analyze data. The results showed that there were differences empathy based on educational level (F = 435.541 p < .001). Empathy on Junior High School was higher than of other educational levels. Empathy on Junior High School (M = 38.5; SD = 6.135 ), University (M = 29.27; SD = 3.927), Senior High School (M = 20.89; SD = 3.406), Elementary School (M = 14.40; SD = 6.509 ). The results showed that there were differences empathy based on sex (t = 3.940 p< .001). The results showed that empathy on female students (M = 27.33 SD = 9.740) higher than male students (M = 23.75 SD = 9.581).

Abstract

Child's world is a world of play. Through play, children can have greater opportunities to enhance social development, emotional development, and better able to develop interpersonal relationships because the child has the opportunity to interact with their peers. The pattern of play that involves interaction with colleagues can be found in traditional games. When playing traditional games, children are invited to gather and get to know their peers. This research was conducted to determine the effect of traditional game of interpersonal competence with peers in elementary school children.The population of this research is a third-grade students SDN Srondol Wetan 04-09 and SDN Srondol Wetan 05-08 with a sample size of 28 students. The sampling technique was using purposive sampling. Data collected by Interpersonal Competence Scale with Peer's (α = 0.805). The treatment given to the experimental group in the form of traditional games for six consecutive times with a duration of 75 minutes.Based on data analysis with statistical nonparametric methods Mann-Withney U test showed that there is interpersonal competence differences between children who participated in traditional games with children who do not follow traditional game activities. This is shown by the significant level of 0.924 (p>0.05) before treatment and the significance level of 0.000 (p> 0.05) after administration of treatment in the experimental group.Based on the analysis of research and is supported by previous studies, it can be concluded that the activities of Traditional Games influence of interpersonal competence with peers in elementary school children.Keywords : traditional games, interpersonal competence with peers, elementary school childrenPermalink :

Abstract

Personality Inventory for DSM-5 (PID-5) is the latest personality inventory that measures pathological personality based on DSM-5 model. As a clinical instrument, validity testing is an essential procedure to be achieved, so the clinicians could ascertain the accuracy of the test results. This study aims to measure the convergent validity of Indonesian Version of PID-5. The relationship between PID-5 domains and Personality Psychopathology Five-revised (PSY-5-r) subscales from Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory-2 Restructured Form (MMPI-2-RF) was being measured in this study. All participants were university students (n = 72, M = 22.24 years old, SD = 6.00, males 45.8% and females 54.2%). The PID-5 and MMPI-2-RF which have been adapted into Bahasa Indonesia was administered to all participants. Pearson correlation was used to measure the relationship between each domain from PID-5 (i.e. Negative Affectivity, Antagonism, Detachment, Disinhibition, and Psychoticism) with PSY-5-r subscales (i.e. Negative Emotionality, Aggressiveness, Introversion, Disconstraint, and Psychoticism). Most of the PID-5 domain showed the highest correlation with its conceptually expected PSY-5-r counterpart (r = .31 - .75; Mdnr = .54; p < .01, two tails), except for Disinhibition domain, which showed higher correlation with Negative Emotionality (r = .59) than Disconstraint (r = .31). This slight variation of correlation pattern notwithstanding, the overall result still suffices to confirm a pattern of convergence betw­een PID-5 domains and PSY-5-r subscales.

Abstract

AbstractThe death of spouse brings major changes in the life of the wife/husband that may affect their psychological well-being. To maintain their psychological well-being within an optimum level, elderly will seek sources of social support in their lives. This study aims to test the correlation between perceived social support and psychological well-being in elderly and to investigate gender differences in perceived social support and psychological well-being. This study comprised 112 elderly (78 widowers; 34 widows), members of the Healthy Elderly Community of the Indonesian Red Cross, Semarang City. Data were collected using the Perceived Social Support Scale (32 items; α = 0.97) and Psychological Well-being Scale (33 items; α = 0.92). Simple regression analysis was applied to test the correlation between two variables and student t-test was used to compare data from male and female groups. The results revealed a positive and significant correlation between perceived social support and psychological well-being in elderly (r = 0.739; p < 0.001). Perceived social support explained 54.6% of the psychological well-being. T-test revealed gender differences in perceived social support and psychological well-being in elderly. The widows perceived social support better than the widowers (t(35) = 3.594; p < 0.001), the widows also showed higher psychological well-being than the widowers (t(42) = 2.944; p= 0.004).

Abstract

Education evaluation should be based on students’ viewpoints and interest. Based on that, the research was aimed to determine the importance of purpose oriented study and ability to show empathy to the school well- being. The proposed hypothesis was there is positive correlation between purpose-oriented study and ability to show empathy to the school well-being. The study involved 123 senior high school students based on simple random sampling method. Data were collected using the School Well-being Scale (20 items, α = .81), the Purpose-Oriented Study Scale (20 items; α = .77) and the Empathy Scale (24 items; α = .79). Regression analysis was used to test the hypothesis. The result shows that there is a significant and positive correlation betweenpurpose-oriented study and ability to show empathy to the school well-being (r = .364; p < .001). It emphasizes the importance of using tolerated interactional teaching-learning process so that the students will be able to obtain learning meanings that are attached to the school environment.
