Abstract

This study uses an ex post facto design with the aim of knowing the interaction between the independent variables (mathematical disposition and learning independence) as a determinant of the dependent variable (learning outcomes). The sample of this study was 32 elementary school students. The data was taken through a questionnaire method and a written test. Data analysis through two-way ANOVA test with interaction factors. The results showed that was an interaction between the independent variables (mathematical disposition and learning independence) on the dependent variable (learning outcomes) with a significance level of 0.05. So it can be concluded that the interaction between mathematical disposition and learning independence is a determining factor in the mathematics learning outcomes of elementary school students in distance learning.

Abstract

Abstract

In addition to existing textbooks, student learning activities can be helped by the development of learning media that are expected to help overcome students learning difficulties, especially in math learning. This research aims to analyze the need for media that can be used in the process of learning mathematics to facilitate the understanding of materials by students. The subjects in this study were a teacher and all grade 5th students of SDN 2 Mojorembun, 16 students. Interview and questionnaire techniques are used to obtain and collect data about the learning media needs. The study results obtained an average percentage of 82.1%, which showed a need for continuous development of the need for more practical, engaging, complete learning media for solid figure material with character strengthening. So, it can be concluded that students need to develop learning media about solid figure material with character strengthening.

Abstract

Japanese learning is not popular in Indonesia but has important value. In Bali, ten elementary schools have introduced Japanese as an additional skill for students to  master Japanese from a young age. Therefore it is necessary to develop learning that follows the characteristics of children and can improve 21st-century skills. This study aims to develop Japanese language learning set for elementary students according to student characteristics, requiring students to collaborate and think critically. This study uses a mixed-method approach paradigm, namely Exploratory Mixed Method Design, which combines qualitative and quantitative approaches using the Four-D R&D design. Learning Set in the form of lesson plans, worksheets, and animation media for Japanese language learning that are produced contain activities that require students to collaborate, which can improve students' 21st-century skills. Based on the validity test results, it can be seen that this learning set has been tested for its effectiveness. The assessments carried out by teachers and students show that the lesson plans, worksheets, and animation media are suitable for learning Japanese at the elementary level.  Thus, Japanese teaching teachers at elementary schools can use these learning sets to increase student motivation in learning and can improve 21st-century skills.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the effect of media Augmented reality pictorial storybook on the anxiety of elementary school students in mathematics learning. This study used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental type of research. The experimental design used was a pretest-posttest control group design. The sample of this study was 60 students of fifth grade elementary school which were divided into two groups, namely the experimental group and the control group. The sampling technique used is cluster random sampling. The data were collected by using a mathematical anxiety questionnaire which was analyzed by means of a comparison technique, score trend test, and t-test. The results showed that the use of Augmented reality pictorial storybooks can reduce students' anxiety levels in mathematics learning. This can be seen from the average value of the pretest and posttest in the experimental class which showed a more significant decrease in anxiety towards mathematics learning (47.73%) than the decrease in anxiety in the control class (4.73%). The t-test results show that the significance value is 0.00 (<0.05), which means that Augmented reality pictorial storybooks have a significant effect on students' anxiety in mathematics learning.

Abstract

Learning trajectory on the topic of plane figures (i.e., perimeter and area of squares and rectangles) is necessary for elementary students to facilitate meaningful learning and predict their learning progress. This study aims to develop a learning trajectory through various tasks for the perimeter and area of squares and rectangles that can help students develop understanding and construct mathematical concepts. Study participants were fourth grade elementary students. The method used was design research, which has three stages: preparing for the experiment, teaching, and retrospective analysis. This study used data collection instruments in worksheets, observation sheets, interview guidelines, and field notes. Research results obtained included a learning trajectory that contains adequate learning activities to facilitate learning for elementary students on the perimeter and area of squares and rectangles. Adequate learning trajectory is obtained in hypothetical learning trajectory (HLT) 2, which was previously revised from HLT 1. Learning trajectory developed through a variety of tasks can significantly construct and facilitate elementary students’ knowledge to learn the concepts of perimeter and area of squares and rectangles.

Abstract

This study aims to determine how the development of comic-based teaching material using a proper and effective contextual approach. The teaching material developed is comic-based teaching material using a contextual approach. The subjects in this study were fourth-grade students of SD Amalyatul Huda Medan. This type of research is R & D research using the 4-D model. To see the feasibility of teaching material is obtained from 5 validation experts. Meanwhile, to see the effectiveness of teaching materials obtained from trials of teaching material. The trial was carried out twice. The first trial was conducted on nine students consisting of three students in low ability,three students in medium ability, and three students in high ability. While the second trial was conducted on fourth-grade students consisting of 32 students. Based on the conclusions from five experts, they stated that comic-based teaching material using contextual approach were included in the good category and deserved to be used. Meanwhile, based on student assessment result of the teaching material in the first and second trials, the category was excellent. It can be concluded that the development of comic-based teaching material using contextual approach is feasible and effective for students.

Abstract

Concept maps are closely related to students' understanding of knowledge and creative thinking skills. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of concept maps as in increasing understanding of knowledge and creative thinking skills when students are involved in learning activities. The type of research method chosen is descriptive analysis. Research data were collected through (1) questionnaires, (2) concept map assessment rubrics, and (3) interviews. The results of the questionnaire were evaluated using the percentage technique. Students' answers to open-ended questions about the advantages and disadvantages of applying concept maps are summarized and analyzed descriptively. The results showed that most respondents stated that learning with concept maps was fully effective. Analysis of answers to questionnaires and open-ended questions cloncludes that concept maps are effective as a tool to improve students' understanding of knowledge and creative thinking skills that have implications for meaningful learning, student positive attitudes, and student academic achievement.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the material’s content in thematic textbook curriculum 2013 class V theme 7 events in life in subtheme 1 event of the colonial mass nationality that contains indicators of character value in it. This research uses a qualitative approach. The type of research used is a content analysis using document studies. The subject in this study is the researcher himself. The objects used in this study are student books and curriculum teacher books 2013 revised edition 2017 grade V theme 7 events in life. The data obtained will be analyzed descriptively qualitatively with the content analysis method. The results of  analysis of this study showed that the character values encountered in the integrated thematic textbook curriculum 2013 class V theme 7 subtheme 1 national events of the colonial period are fond of reading, hard work, curiosity, creativit, love of the homeland, independent, honest, democratic, tolerance, responsibility, discipline, national spirit, and friendly/ communicative. The analysis of the contents of the integrated thematic book material curriculum 2013 is expected educators can be more competitive and have innovations in designing learning that is able to implement character values in every learning activity for students.

Abstract

Indonesia has diverse values rooted in local wisdom, for instance, the local wisdom of the Baduy ethnic group. Baduy local wisdom has the potential values to be a transformation source in Civics Education learning. This study aimed to describe the potential transformation of Baduy local wisdom in Civics Education learning.  A case study,  a qualitative approach was employed in this study.  This research is located at elementary schools around Citorek district, Lebak, Banten. The data was obtained through interviews, observations, and documentation.  The results showed that Baduy local wisdom taught lessons to be a good citizen because it contains the following values: first, Baduy local wisdom forms the basic human characters of children aged 6 to 12 years. Second: Baduy teachings are universal and religious to shape children's morality,, especially boys. The revitalization of the values of Baduy cultural tradition needs to be transformed by today's young generation in their social life. These values can be transformed in the learning process of Civics education. One of the efforts made is through strengthen the ability of teachers to design the lesson plans, syllabus, and learning methods that were adapted to the context of deep local wisdom values.
