Abstract

This study aims to describe the meaning of sexy uniforms for female GAS STATION operators. The phenomenon is there, operational standards and grooming at the GAS STATION 54.801.50 Denpasar, incompatible with the generally happens. The existence of rules for wearing sexy lingerie for women operators became one of the requirements for workers. This research uses qualitative research methods with types of case studies. The phenomenology of theories about the construction of self dissect the motives of the purposes and motives because the property of Alfred Schutz was chosen to analyze this research. The results of this study showed a dar motive cause and motive of the purpose for the operators of the woman who wears sexy uniforms at the time of work. There are three things the motive cause that is educational, economic and social conditions. Abstract

Kampung Islam Kepaon (Islamic Village Kepaon) is an example of Islamic village. This village is locatedin Pemogan area. This village is trying to retain their identity in the middle of life’s complexities of Hinducommunity dominance. The trace record of the village is historical evidence that still exist in modern era. Thisresearch aims to know how the actualization of existing community in the village using Abraham Maslowconcept and Max Weber’s theory of Social Action. This research is a qualitative based research using singlecase studies. Observation, deep interview, and documentation by photograph are the tools for collecting data.The selected interviewees are the chief of the village, elders, and some selected individuals based on the genderand their active role. The results of this research show that the actualization of the Islamic community in thevillage is so powerful. There are a number of activities to actualize the existence of the village’s communitieswho live side by side with the Hindu communities such as the tradition of ngejot, the rodat tradition at ProphetMuhammad’s Maulid ceremony, mekibung, reinforcement of the Balinese language as a form of emerging Balilocal wisdom, education-based Islamic, Rebana, and Bleganjur.Keyword : Actualization, Islam Village, Denpasar

Abstract

The American state that it became the object of the first Islamic dawah in about 1875, from what was then known as Greater Syria (Great Syria [now includes Syria itself, Lebanon, Jordan and Palestine]) until the end of World War I. Followed by a second wave, in the 1920s to then be stopped because of World War II. Immigration laws in this period are rather limiting. Only black or Caucasian people can enter the United States. Arabs are considered not to fall into the two categories. While the third wave, between the mid-1940s and mid-1960s took place along with the occurrence of important changes outside the United States. Muslims who enter the US in this category are more educated. Most of them migrated because of political oppression. At the same time, especially in the 1960s various changes took place in US immigration policy. The job market is expanding and the country needs potential immigrants to fill the posts. Here ethnic or racial boundaries are loosened. Then the fourth wave, lasting about 1967 and still going on until now. They are generally very fluid and fluent in English. Their immigration is in place for various reasons such as for the improvement of professional ability and avoiding Government oppression. They also have the intention to settle or preach Islam in this Country. And the fifth wave started from 1967 until now. Those who came to America in this wave, in addition to economic reasons, political factors are also the main reasons that encourage them to migrate. There are some proofs that Islam came to America long before Columbus and the West.

Abstract

Penelitian ini fokus pada isu bagaimana “pandangan hidup” dan juga praktek Jawa abangan di makam Imogiri. Terdapat 3 isu utama yang didiskusikan, yaitu (1) konteks istilah abangan untuk masyarakat Jawa saat ini, (2) para abdidalem, peziarah dan pengunjung yang dikategorikan sebagai praktisi abangan, dan (3) “pandangan hidup” Jawa abangan dalam memahami praktek ritual mereka di makam Imogiri. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode etnography dalam pengumpulan data di lapangan. Sedangkan proses analisisnya menggunakan teori Clifford Geertz (1976), Andrew Beatty (2004), Robert Hefner (1987) M. C. Recklefs (2007), Koentjaraningrat (1985), Neils Mulder (1983) Robert Wessing (2006), dan Irving Hallowell (1960). Dengan menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif interpretatif, penelitian ini menyimpulkan 3 hal: (1) Saat ini, istilah abangan oleh Geertz dan Ricklefs sudah tidak relevan. Berdasarkan fenomena para peziarah dan pengunjung makam Imogiri bahwa banyak santri, priyayi dan non-muslim juga mempraktekkan ritual dan upacara abangan. Fenomena ini menolak definisi Geertz yang mengklaim bahwa abangan hanyalah kelompok petani dan masyarakat Jawa desa (Geertz, 1960:4-5), point ini pun sekaligus membantah pernyataan Ricklefs yang menyatakan bahwa abangan adalah kelompok Muslim yang tidak menerapkan ajaran-ajaran Islam (Ricklefs, 2007:84). Ditambah lagi, pengelompokan antara santri, abangan dan priyayi saat ini bersifat lebih relatif. (2) Beberapa ritual dan upacara di makam Imogiri sebagian besar berhubungan dengan semua kategori yang masuk dalam istilah abangan yang sampai saat ini masih eksis. (3) “Pandangan hidup” Jawa abangan dalam praktek ritual dan upacara di makam Imogiri merupakan bentuk usaha untuk melestarikan dan mempertahankan hubungan antara manusia dan bukan manusia.

Abstract

Look at the fact that the conflict is still going on then the need for handling conflicts, especially religious conflicts with the way enhance the religious harmony that live in the Earth Indonesia with diverse cultures and beliefs. With a strategy how to let religious unity could increase and coexist as expected of mankind. This research will be done in Blitar Regency, why so? In addition to the restriction of the problem, since in the County there are majority religion of Islam which is closely linked to the traditions of Java in keseharianya and terdapat variants of religion and places of worship that looks very harmonious. As for the purpose of this research is to mendiskripsikan the findings the role of popular culture in Islamic religious unity against Java. Abstract

Salaf pesantren is an institution that is still strongly bound by old traditions. By inheriting and maintaincontinuity of Islamic tradition developed by scholars from time to time indefinite periodesasinya, has elementswhich include clerics, students, cottage / hostel, mosque, recitals of classical texts / yellow book, applyingthe method bandongan, sorogan, wetonan, principled firmly on Islamic education material. Pesantren Salafurgently need progress in science and technology. Pesantren Salaf there are many who “failed” to preserve itsown leadership weights, weak in preparing a “succession” Kyai guardians comparable with the foregoing, letalone exceeded. Answering the needs of the era, schools Salaf open formal educational institutions. Sensitivitypesantren Salaf against the phenomena that appear in the society is a social concern and reflexive owned evenare characteristic. So that the aspirations of the people making the boarding school received the developmentand advancement of science and technology. The real step taken is establishing formal educational institutionsfrom kindergarten through college. The character of a scholar is asceticism and totality. On the other hand,people still expect the efficacy of the function and role of pesantren Salaf like period once, without knowing thatit is actually what is expected it is experiencing overcast condition and shrinkage. Expenses are given the addedweight and more and more, but the ability to lift a boarding school in general was declining. Source overcastcondition and depreciation mainly boils down to the weight and quality of the “clerics who brought up”. Abstract

It’s a hardly for former convicts to get their place back in society, so they must adapt to society in order to get back a normal life with others. But in fact they are ostracized indeed by society. The readiness to do social adaptation is very difficult because former convicts are always feel ostracized by society, moreover they are feel isolated in social interaction with others where they are live in. The goal of this research is to know how social adaptation in society for former convicts under founding of Rehabilitation Center Class II City of Tanjungpinang. The method of this research is descriptive qualitative which give a full view of phenomenon of what is happened in field. The population of this research is 22 people, which use proposive sampling to get 9 people as the sample, consist of informant and key informant. Data collecting by observation, interview and documentation, which will be analized by use data analysis from Mattew B. Milles and A. Michael Huberman. Former convicts who have finish their time of imprisonment and have to go back to society, must adapt to a life with new regulations and they must know how to react if there are social problems happened. Former convicts will be acceptable in society depend on their ability to adapt with others. It is also happened to former convicts who have to go back to society with a social status as an ex-prisoner and they have to change point of view of society to them. Former convicts have to show off their positive attitudes by doing better, polite, diligent in praying and not unwilling to help society.

Abstract

The emergence of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) were actively empowering women can supplement the lack of implementation of the programme of empowerment from the Government. In spite of all its shortcomings, a previous Study demonstrated that NGOs are more effective in carrying out the empowerment programs with a variety of models and strategies. Mother’s best friend Foundation (YSI) undertook to actively empower women in Yogyakarta and mengooptasi way to implement Islamic values not only in theoretical level but also practical. This paper discusses how YSI implement Islamic values and the implications for how the process of empowerment. This research uses qualitative approach method of verstehen to interpret the subject’s understanding of research on Islamic-based empowerment. Data collection techniques using participatory observation and indepth interview against informants chosen by purposive. The results showed that the application of the values of Islam is more of an approach at once an instrument of women’s empowerment. Islamic practices are applied in the empowerment of such a contract, pledge, pengajian, infaq is able to push the lancarnya the process of empowerment. The subject of research looked at that program of empowerment is the obligation to family and God. Nevertheless there are several members resigned because the program prove incriminating. On the one handthe implementation of Islamic values become the driving force of empowerment, on the other hand give rise to a difference of views among the participants and facilitator so that it becomes counterproductive. Abstract

Education function to develop the ability and form the character and civilization of a dignified nation in order to educate the nation’s life. This is in line with the values and norms of Indonesian society is far from materialism, But along with the influx of globalization and modernization, the value and meaning of education is often biased. The occurrence of bias in the interpretation of the meaning of education is caused by social change. research of education bias in Bima community gives an idea how education values can not be interpreted well by a society. Peter L Berger is one of the sociologists who discussed the whole process of social construction. Using the social construction theory of Peter L Berger, it can be seen that the people of Bima undergo a process of social change consisting of; (a) Changes in education patterns in Bima from Islamic education to secular education, (b) Conversion of society’s high social status, related to education which is a social construction process in Bima society about one’s social status. So from the analysis can be seen that education for the community Bima has a very important role in determining the position of a person’s social status. Society in this era can be said as the modern society with anything life sufficiency that is very easy to be gotten,but there are still many societies that have not been release with their tradition that have been happenedlong time before they are birth. Existence and continuance activities of tradition element, such as like in Javaculture which is known as count the day activity before the wedding held, salvation whether for baby bornor dead, home construction, precisely this activities that bring the diversity in the multiculturalism element.Multiculturalism itself is recognition if there are different cultures but they are still can life and develop withinthe similar environment without loss on either side.
