Abstract

Green Computing is a computational resources that maximize energy efficiency and prolong the use of a device that is used , minimizing the use of paper or a book , and the electrical energy that is used every day . This paper explore the possibility to compare the cost and searching speed using Green Computing definition approach in an inventory system between using human labor, Microsoft Excel, and Inflow Inventory application. The comparison includes the data rate cost from local electricity company (PLN) and 450 samples of data. The result shows that the larger cost is incurred by using applications than using human labor. However, using applications can conclude to faster searching process than using human labor. Abstract

In this paper we will discuss how to design and analysis a repository system in university, Duta Wacana Christian University (DWCU). The system is web-based, and implements Dublin Core (DC) metadata, using tagging systems, and implements Open Archive Initiatives-Protocol for Metadata Harvesting (OAI-PMH) data provider. The term Institutional Repository (IR) appears since 2003 and is now widely used in various institutions including universities. IR university is a place that contains digital work data, both scientific and non-scientific research from entire academic community of the university. IR univesitry contains many formats such as documents (text), audio (sound), and video. Development of the system has been conducted by the author and team and produce a repository that has appropriate permissions to the stored data, it is applying the standard DC metadata and tagging on each of its file, it has preview feature, and able to perform searching based on tag and DC metadata that previously stored in it. The results concluded that implementation of DC metadata that store permanently in each file, causes each file has a unique metadata signature, so that each file downloaded from the system is actually (originally) comes from UKDW institutional repository. The use of tagging on each file allows categorization and retrieval based on tags, and OAIPMH protocol implementation allows IR data provider collaborate and integrate with other OAI-PMH systems, such as Portal Garuda that owned by Indonesian Higher Education (DIKTI). Abstract

This paper propose a method to collect software requirement (Software Requirement Specification – SRS) using user interface analysis on several running and stable system. In this paper we analyzed user interfaces of five internet banking system in Indonesia. The result are list of internet banking features. Then the features are categorized into three category, which are most important, important, and addiontal. Abstract

Today, the rise of the mobile game applications development is a major phenomenon in the development of the mobile technology. Along with those trends, there are studies related to the development of a mobile game which expect the development of mobile games can be better in terms of quality and a higher tendency on the market. One of the things that is crucial to determine the quality of a game application on mobile devices is the standard calculations and metrics. In this paper a framework to measure the quality of a game application on mobile devices based on the ISO 9126 standard is proposed. The characteristics of the ISO 9126 standard will be mapped to the characteristics possessed by the mobile game applications, and by using the Analytic Hierarchy Process, the significance value to each aspect the game application can be obtained and the metric can be built Index terms - Analytic Hierarcy Process, Game Application, Mobile Devices, ISO 9126, Software Quality Management

Abstract

Nowadays the need for patients to receive prompt and proper care of the hospital plays an important role for the development of the hospital itself. This encourages to the development of various applications and integrated system for enhancing the effectiveness of hospital services, one of which is a self-service method to open floor directory and to enroll oneself with a doctor at the hospital. Therefore, in this paper the authors make the design of an application to support the self-service method. Abstract

Currently most organization have assets to support operational processes. Although a number of organizations tend to use outsourcing and leasing services to organize their assets, but some organization prefer to buy their own and manage their assets with a particular reason. Asset management is not a simple job. It’s very difficult to manage assets without information systems as support media. Integrating asset management into information system can help organization to record and update the status of assets, maintenance and repair of assets, calculate asset depreciation, and asset reallocation among divisions. ABC as part of the computer laboratory at a well known University in Jakarta is currently had many problems to manage their assets. The composition of their assets consists of hardware, software, and other supporting devices. Based on these problems, the research carried out in order to solve the problem. The research perform an analysis of the process in asset management as well as to formulate and implement a model of information system that can support the management of existing assets, so that all data can be integrated and managed with the system. The method for this research is based on analysis and design of object-oriented. Abstract

The need of e-learning nowadays has become the main concern of education institutions. For an organization, resources availability is crucial investment to be considered. Although the use of e-learning mushrooming, there are some critics on the quality of e-learning system. To know the quality of a system, we need a quality measurement. ISO 9126 is an international standard quality which is well known for its’ robustness and had been implemented in many applications. In this paper, the quality survey in some e-learning products been done, i.e. eFront and Moodle. The result show us that eFront system has 0.962745 quality value, better than Moodle which has 0.90925 quality value. Index Terms - E-Learning, eFront, ISO 9126, quality Moodle.

Abstract

Today the rapid growth of the internet and the massive usage of the data have led to the increasing CPU requirement, velocity for recalling data, a schema for more complex data structure management, the reliability and the integrity of the available data. This kind of data is called as Large-scale Data or Big Data. Big Data demands high volume, high velocity, high veracity and high variety. Big Data has to deal with two key issues, the growing size of the datasets and the increasing of data complexity. To overcome these issues, today researches are devoted to kind of database management system that can be optimally used for big data management. There are two kinds of database management system, relational database management system and nonrelational system that can be optimally used for big data management. There are two kinds of database management, Relational Database Management and Non-relational Database Management. This paper will give reviews about these two database management system, including description, vantage, structure and the application of each DBMS. Abstract

Human resources are an important asset in the entire company operations activity. A human resources management support system should be provided to improve performance in accordance with the company target. The purpose of this study is to design a model of operational and human resource management support systems that can integrate employee performance data, simplify management of employee data, and generate reports in the form of Key Performance Indicator (KPI) and Binusian Level. Methodology used in this study is using literature study, design, and test a model to make operational and human resource management information system. Abstract

Software prototype is a simplified form of the real software which is developed to assist the upstream engineering activities. Developing the prototype is especially of importance in gathering the requirement and modeling the main functionalities of the software. Among tools available to prototype the software, Microsoft Excel, with its advantageous spreadsheet features and considerable popularity, is worthy to be considered as an alternative candidate. Several case studies are explored to show the usefulness of Microsoft Excel as a prospective tool in prototyping the visual softwares. Index Terms - prototype, software engineering, visual software.
