Abstract

The use of mechanical ventilators is at risk of causing complications, Ventilator Associated Pnemonia (VAP). The Associated Pnemonia (VAP) Ventilator is a nosocomial infection that occurs in patients with Ventilator consumption from 48 hours. VAP prevention can be done with VAP bundle. The objective of this research to analyze the guidelines VAP bundle's knowledge relationship with the level of nurse compliance in VAP prevention. This type of research with cross sectional which describes the knowledge of VAP bundle of ICU-treatment. This study was conducted in March-April 2019 in the ICU Room of RS X in Semarang with a number of samples as many as 25 ICU nurses. Results indicate that there is a relationship of knowledge level to the level of nurse compliance in the implementation of VAP bundle in the ICU room of RS X in Semarang, the better the knowledge level, the better the level of compliance with P value 0.022 and r 0.456 which has the meaning there is a fairly strong relationship between levels of knowledge with the level of compliance of VAP bundle implementation. The nurses are expected to know and adhere to the VAP bundle so that the VAP does not    occur against the mechanical ventilator attached patients.

The data was taken using questionnaire about knowledge, attitude, and action which were analyzed using Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test statistical analysis with the significant level of 0.05. The results shows that health education using snakes and ladder game affected the increase of knowledge with overall difference 5.308 (p=0.000), the increase of attitude with overall difference 4.813 (p=0.000), and the increase of action with overall difference 4.929 (p=0.000). It can be concluded that the health education using snakes and ladders game affects the student behavior in selecting snacks. The increase in the prevalence of events that occur in hemodialysis patients is caused by various factors, one of which is inaccuracy in doing therapy. Self Management Dietary Counseling (SMDC) aims to increase patient knowledge and participate in health decision making to improve patient compliance and clinic outcome. Purposes: Knowing the effect of Self Management Dietary Counseling (SMDC) on the value of sodium in hemodialysis patients. Methode: Quasy Experiment, pretest-post-test design, 60 samples consisted of 3 groups. Sampling using a random sampling technique. Result: the group treated with SMDC has a p-value <0.050, while the non-treated group has a p value> 0, 050. Conclusion: Self Management Dietary Counseling has an effect on the value of sodium in hemodialysis patients. This study recommends that nurses apply SMDC to each hemodialysis patient to improve the value of sodium.

Abstract

Nasopharyngeal Cancer (NPC) is the 3rd most common type of cancer in Indonesia after cervical and breast cancer. The method for controlling the growth of cancer cells is chemotherapy which has side effects of nausea. Post-chemotherapy nausea makes the patient uncomfortable and if not treated properly will cause complications. Management of nausea can be done with a combination of deep breathing relaxation and murottal.  The objective of the study to analyze the effect of a combination of deep breathing relaxation and murottal on the intensity of nausea in NPC patients after chemotherapy. The research method was a quasi-experiment one group pre-post-test design on 30 samples of post-chemotherapy NPC patients.  The results of the study showed that nausea intensity before and after given a combination of deep breathing and murottal obtained p-value 0,000 (p-value <0.05). There is a significant difference between nausea intensity before and after the combination of deep breathing and murottal relaxation. The combination of deep breathing and murottal breathing can reduce the intensity of nausea in NPC patients after chemotherapy.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the ability of early detection, the factors that are most influential and related to the ability of early detection of hypoglycemia and hyperglycemia in diabetes mellitus patients in Bima Public Hospital in 2017. The method used in this research is an analytical descriptive method and uses a cross-sectional approach. The population of this study was all DM patients in Bima Public Hospital in 2017. The sample size was determined by purposive sampling technique, namely 30 people. The study was conducted in the internal medicine room of Bima Hospital. The data were retrieved by using questionnaire of Ability to Detect Hypoglycemia and Hyperglycemia which has been tested for the validity and reliability of the instrument with Cronbach's Alpha value of 0.734. The data analysis process was carried out by using Chi-Square test and logistic regression. Results: The ability of hypoglycemia and hyperglycemia to be detected in DM patients in Bima Public Hospital in 2017 was 47% who were able and 58% who were not able with the average of 42.70, with a minimum-maximum value of 34-52. The results of the multivariate test revealed that the duration of DM disease had the most significant effect on the ability of hypoglycemia and hyperglycemia detection (p-value = 0.001, OR 39.429). Discussion: Improving the quality of nursing care through self-care education in the right nursing perspective with regard to the characteristics of the respondents, one of them is a history of long-term DM disease, can prevent acute hypoglycemia and hyperglycemia.

Abstract

Food is a major factor supporting growth and development for every living creature. The quantity and composition of the food consumed is tailored to the needs of each individual. Babies have different food compositions. According to WHO the best food for babies is given breast milk as soon as the baby is born until the first 6 months and continued until the age of 2 years. This condition can not be achieved if coverage of ASI in each region is still less. One of the areas whose exclusive coverage is still low is Magelang City. Data from the health profile of the Magelang City Health Office in 2008 mentioned that in Magelang city there was a percentage of infants who got an exclusive ation of 0.32 percent. Looking at the phenomenon, researchers are interested to know the factors causing the low coverage of exclusive breastfeeding in the city of Magelang. This research is located in the working area of North Magelang Health Center. The model of this research is by observational analytic with cross sectional study design design with quantitative approach. Selection of sample by purposive sampling method with 30 sample people. This study uses questionnaires that we will share to samples that have children maximum 2 years old. The questionnaire contains questions about breastfeeding. From the results of the questionnaire will then be analyzed to determine the factors causing the low coverage of exclusive breastfeeding in the city of Magelang. The results of this study indicate there are several factors that affect the exclusive ation: among others: maternal age, level of education and mother's work. It is expected that the results of this study could be as input for the relevant agencies in this case is the Health Department to make appropriate policies to increase exclusive ASI coverage.

Abstract

Joint Commission International ( JCI ) required the achievement of 100% five moment hand hygiene for the nurses who have provided care to patients. The adherence of five moments hand hygiene has been done to reduce the incidence of nosocomial infections. The adherence of five moments hand hygiene has been determined by inside and outside factors, and one of the inside factors is the motivation. The research is a qualitative research with cross sectional approach. The number of sample is 153 nurses with the proportionate random sampling technique at the Public Hospital of Loekmono Hadi Kudus. The research instruments used the questionaire and observation sheet. The research showed the result of Rank Spearman test p value = 0,000 with r value = 0.296, positive correlation means that the higher the nurse motivation, the higher the nurse aderence of five moment hand hygiene.
