Al-Irsyad: The Counseling and Education Journal is scientific journal in education and counseling guidance that managed by The Bimbingan Konseling Islam Majors of Ilmu Tarbiyah dan Keguruan Faculty of UIN Sumatera Utara Medan. Al-Irsyad presents topics about development of counseling guidance profession as a teacher based on the four competence of a teacher. They are pedagogic, personal, social, and professional. Besides that, Al-Irsyad is also emphasize to the integration of islamic values. Al-Irsyad is published two times in a year. There are January-June edition and July-December edition. The first edition of Al-Irsyad was Vol.1, No.1, January-June Edition on 2012, but was not yet have p-ISSN and e-ISSN. Then, in Vol.5, No. 1, January-June Edition on 2015 was published in print with p-ISSN: 2088-8341. Further, Vol. 10, No.1, January-June 2020 Edition on 2020 edition publish OJS with e-ISSN: 2686-2859.

Abstract

Learning skills are one of the most urgent things in the learning process. Without adequate learning skills, a person will have difficulty in following the ongoing learning process. This study aims to determine the difference in low-achieving student achievement skills with high achieving students in the Study Program of Islamic Counseling Faculty Tarbiyah Teacher Training UIN North Sumatra Medan. The type of research used is comparation. The sample of research is 120 people taken by purposive random sampling technique. Instrument used is questionnaire, data analysis is done with data description, hypothesis test with t-test. The results showed that: 1) Students' high achievement skills belong to good category. Each sub variable that is proposed in this research is in good category that is learning skill, questioning skill, recording skill, concentration skill, reading skill, skill of preparation and completion of task. 2) Low achievement student skills are in good category. Judging from each sub-variables are learning skill, questioning skill, recording skill, concentration skill, skill of preparation and completion of task are in good category, and reading skill and question skill are in enough category. 3) There is a significant difference between high achieving student learning skill and low achievement student learning skill. This means that high achieving students have good learning skills compared to low achieving students' learning skills.Keyword: Implication, Learning Skill, Student Achievement

Abstract

The counselor's knowledge competence includes knowledge of What is a counselor's supervisor, the requirements for a counselor's supervisor, the counselor's principal duties, the counselor's supervisory function, and the right and authority of a counselor's supervisor. Personality competence is the ability, skill and skill that a person displays. Foker states that "the personality competencies possessed by counselors are spirited educators, open, able to develop themselves and have the integrity of personality". The personality competencies that the counselor must possess are open-minded educators, able to develop themselves and have personality integrity. Counselors must have an open mind and be able to control themselves. The personality of the counselor involves things like value, work spirit, nature or characteristics, and behavior. Professionalism of a teacher is a necessity in realizing a knowledge-based school, which is an understanding of learning, curriculum, and human development including learning styles. Professional counselors provide services in the form of counseling (advocacy) coordination, collaborate and provide consultation services that can create equal opportunities in achieving opportunities and success for the counselee based on the principles of profesionaitas.Keyword: Competence, counsel teacher, global

Abstract

Counseling guidance is a process of assistance given by BK teachers to students, both individually and in groups to be able to be independent and develop optimally, both in the personal, learning, social and career fields through various types of support services and activities, based on norms which applies to be able to be independent and develop optimally. In the implementation of counseling activities in schools a BK teacher must need to understand correctly and precisely about the basic concept of conducting BK in schools, so that the implementation of BK in schools is in accordance with existing scholarship. Therefore a BK teacher must continue to explore their knowledge about BK itself, so that they become a professional and experienced BK teacher.Keywords: Basic concepts, Implementation, Guidance and Counseling, in Schools

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between Religiosity and Psychological well being in terms of the Big Five Personality in high school students 6 Binjai. There are two hypotheses proposed in this study, namely, there is a relationship between religiosity and Psychological well being in SMA 6 Binjai students and there is a difference between Psychological well being in terms of big five personality in SMA 6 Binjai students. Analysis of the data used in this research is covariance analysis. This research was conducted at the 6th and XI high school 6 Binjai students in the 2013/2014 academic year. This sample was taken by random sampling method, with a total sample of 85 students from the total population. The analysis used is covariance analysis, because it aims to test the hypothesis of one dependent variable (y), one independent variable (x), and one covariable. Based on the analysis of the data above, it was obtained F = 2395,290 with a significance of 0,000 and p <0.05. Based on these results it is said that there is a relationship between religiosity and Psychological well being on the big five personality. Then obtained F = 1.845, sig 0.128 with p> 0.05 which means that there is no difference in Psychological well being among the five personality types of big five personality.Keywords: Psychological well being, Religiosity, Big Five Personality

Abstract

Each human’s emotion develop in certain meaning. It means that loosing negative emotions in our understanding about child development is same as loosing one of basic colour in painter’s self; and not only the basic colour will loose but a million colours which are created from combination of colours and basic colour. Negative emotion such as shame and guil will be more useful than positive emotion when someone learn to change his behavior.Negative emotion will motivate children to learn and practice prosocial behavior. It will effect directly to children’s behavior and personality because extreme emotion gives deep effect to motivate them in doing kindness which is hoped others. Shame and guilt are not emotion which must be disappeared. Shame and guilt will teach moral values to children if we use correctly.Key words: moral emotion, shame, guilt, children’s moral, moral development.

Abstract

The ability to build rapport is one of the development tasks that must be endured by the teenagers. This ability is influenced by various factors among which are the factors of self-concept and family factors particularly parental involvement with their children various occasions. This correlation descriptive research also applied quantitative method. The population of this research were students in grade VII and VIII of SMP Negeri 29 Padang. Sample using proportional stratified random sampling technique. The instruments of this research were the Likert scale model. The data obtained were analyzed by using hipotetic mean, simple linier regression, and multiple linier regression. The research finding were: (1) self-concept in average were at high category, (2) parental involvement in average were at high category, (3) the ability to building rapport with peers were at high category, (4) the ability to building rapport with peers explained by the self-concept, (5) the ability to building rapport with peers explained by the parental involvement, and (6) the ability to building rapport with peers explained by the self-concept and parental involvement. The implication of this research may useful to design a guidance and counseling program, especially for personal and social field.Keywords: Self-Concept, Parental Involvement, Rapport

Abstract

The phenomenons occur are student not realistic in choosing further education, student not ready to choose further education, and student confused in choosing colleges and majors which they wish to enter. One of the services that used to help career direction planning’s students is a group guidance services. This study aims to determine the effect of group guidance services on the student’s careers direction planning. Research uses quantitative methods. The research type is a Quasi Experiment with the design of the Non-Equivalent Control Group. Subjects of this study amounted to 20 students. The instrument used a scale model of Likert. Research data were analyzed used Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test of non-parametric statistical, and Kolmogorov -Smirnov 2 Independent Samples with SPSS version 20.00. The results of this research generally that group guidance services influence on the student’s career direction planning. Based on the above findings, it can be concluded that student’s career direction planning can be enhanced with group guidance services.Keywords: Career Direction Planning and Group Guidance Services

Abstract

This study aims to explain how the influence of the implementation of the strategy Numbered Head Together to improve motivation and student learning outcomes on the subjects Fikih class VIII in MTs Darul Ihsan Hamparan Perak. The method used in this research is quantitative method by using Quasi Experiment approach which is meant to know the existence or effect of something that is imposed on the sample that is student. Based on the result of data analysis of research about influence of Numbered Head Together strategy toward motivation and result of student learning hence got some conclusion that is: the use of learner strategy Numbered Head Together influence to result learn student, where there are difference of result of student learning shown from result of result hypothesis test postes result Student learning using t test. In addition to influencing the learning outcomes strategy Numbered Head Together also affects the motivation of student learning based on the indicated from the results of t count calculation on student motivation questionnaire after being treated with the acquisition of significance value (Sig.) Of 0.04 and H0 rejected. The difference of students' motivation and student learning result before and after using the strategy of Numbered Head Together on the subject of fasting material of Ramadhan. The Numbered Head Together Strategy also causes a significant increase in students' learning motivation. This can be seen from the quite high difference between the mean score of students' learning motivation before being treated with the students' learning motivation after treatment. Students have a good response to the strategy of Numbered Head Together in improving motivation and student learning outcomes on the subject of material fikih Ramadan fasting. Abstract

Administrasi dapat diartikan sebagai keseluruhan proses dari aktivitas-aktivitas pencapaian tujuan secara efisien dengan dan melalui orang lain (Robbins, 1998:63). Administrasi dalam pendidikan yang tertib dan teratur, sangat diperlukan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pengelolaan pendidikan. Peningkatan kemampuan tersebut akan berakibat positif, yaitu makin meningkatnya efisiensi, mutu dan perluasan pada kinerja di dunia pendidikan tersebut. Tujuan administrasi pada umumnya adalah agar semua kegiatan mendukung tercapainya tujuan pendidikan. Secara khusus ingin mencapai Efektifitas produksi; Efesiensi; Kemampuan menyesuaikan diri (adaptivenes); dan Kepuasan Kerja. Dengan kata lain bahwa Ukuran keberhasilan administrasi pendidikan adalah produktivitas pendidikan, yang pertama dilihat pada produk hasil atau efektivitas dari proses, suasana dan efisiensi. Dalam pencapaian efektivitas ini diperlukan suatu proses minimal meliputi perilaku manusia berorganisasi. Perilaku itu dapat dinyatakan dalam bentuk perencanaan, pelaksanaan dan pengawasan atau pembinaan atas tugas kewajiban administratif Kata Kunci: Administrasi, pendidikan,efektivitas.
