Al-Irsyad: The Counseling and Education Journal is scientific journal in education and counseling guidance that managed by The Bimbingan Konseling Islam Majors of Ilmu Tarbiyah dan Keguruan Faculty of UIN Sumatera Utara Medan. Al-Irsyad presents topics about development of counseling guidance profession as a teacher based on the four competence of a teacher. They are pedagogic, personal, social, and professional. Besides that, Al-Irsyad is also emphasize to the integration of islamic values. Al-Irsyad is published two times in a year. There are January-June edition and July-December edition. The first edition of Al-Irsyad was Vol.1, No.1, January-June Edition on 2012, but was not yet have p-ISSN and e-ISSN. Then, in Vol.5, No. 1, January-June Edition on 2015 was published in print with p-ISSN: 2088-8341. Further, Vol. 10, No.1, January-June 2020 Edition on 2020 edition publish OJS with e-ISSN: 2686-2859.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of group guidance services on thecommunication skills of class X students at MAN Asahan in the 2019/2020 school year. This type of research used in this study is quantitative. The design used in this study is a quasi experimental design and uses a nonequivalent control group desaign model. The research sample consisted of 30 students from a population of 380 students. The data collection instrument in this study is the scale of communication skills. Data analysis techniques in this study used the t-test formula. Based on test results using tests it is known that there are significant differences in communication skills between the posttest conditions in the control group addressed by the coefficient t of 3.797 with α <0.05 and posttest in theexperimental group as indicated by the coefficient t of 28.454 with α <0.05. Judging from the average shows that the communication skills of students in the post-test conditions in the experimental group increased when compared with the post-test conditions in the control group. It can be concluded that the group guidance service has a significant influence on improving the communication skills of class X MAN Asahan in the 2019/2020 school year.Kewords: group guidance services on the communication skills

Abstract

Research on Teacher Counseling Efforts in Tackling Student Anxiety whenSpeaking in Public with Relaxation Techniques at SMP Negeri 6 Percut Sei Tuan Academic Year 2019. Aims to find out and describe the handling by using appropriate relaxation techniques and should be given to students in dealing with student anxiety when public speaking, with the limitation of the formulation of the problem namely to know the efforts of counseling guidance teachers in tackling student anxiety when speaking in public with relaxation techniques of SMP Negeri 6 Percut Sei Tuan Academic Year 2019. This research is a descriptive qualitative research. The research subjects were 2 (two) guidance and counseling teachers and 6 (six) students. While the object of his research is relaxation techniques in dealing with student anxiety when speaking in public at Percut Sei Tuan Middle School. The method of data collection is done through observation, interviews, documentation. The results showed that relaxation techniques can overcome student anxiety when speaking in public.Keywords: Speaking Anxiety, Relaxation Techniques

Abstract

Student learning outcomes can be influenced by the ability of students tocomplete lesson assignments. The phenomenon in the field some students are not able to complete the task assignments given by the teacher. The research aims to reveal how the relationship between the ability to complete task assignments with student learning outcomes. Using quantitative methods with the type of correlational research. The study population was 384 middle school students. The  sampling technique is Proportional Random Sampling with a sample of 78 people.Data analysis techniques used the Pearson Product Moment formula with the help of the Statistical Product and Service Solution for windows release 17.0 program. The research findings show that (1) the ability to complete the task assignments in junior high is in the good category, (2) the learning outcomes of students in junior high are in the good category. (3) There is a significant relationship between the ability to complete lesson tasks with the Pearson correlation student learning outcomes of 0.416 and a significance level of 0.000, with a sufficient level ofrelationship.Keywords: Skills Completing Tasks, Learning Outcomes

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between social skills and internet addiction. The hypothesis of this study states that there is a negative correlation between social skills and internet addiction, with the assumption that the higher social skills, the lower the internet addiction and conversely the lower social skills, the higher internet addiction. The subjects of the study are 127 student at SMA Persatuan Amal Bakti (PAB)6 Helvetia Medan Sumatera Utara Branch chosen by total disproportionate stratified random sampling method. Data were obtained from a scale for measuring social skills and internet addiction. The results of data analysis showed that the correlation coefficient was -0.535 with p 0.000 (p <0.05). It showed that there is a negative correlation between social skills and internet addiction. From these results, it is concluded that the hypothesisstating that there is a negative relationship between social skills with internet addiction, is acceptable.Keywords : Internet addiction, Social skills

Abstract

Education is guidance or help given by educators to the development of students to reach maturity with the aim that children are capable enough to carry out their own life tasks not with the help of others. The purpose of education is to create a person of high quality and character so that he has a broad view of the future to achieve the goals that are expected and able to adapt quickly and precisely in various environments. The educational objectives will be achieved if done with the teaching and learning processboth in the school environment or elsewhere. Learning is one of the activities or human endeavors that is very important and must be carried out throughout life, because through the effort of learning we can make changes or improvements in various matters that concern our self-interest. Learning is done intentionally or not with the teacher, with the help of others, or without anyone's help. The measurement of success, to the potential possessed, to the process of change always departs from experience whether it is research or theories that have been prepared previously. As is the case with human success there are those who see it from the intelligence of their brains (intelligence) or also their work skills. Intelligence is often interpreted as the ability to understand thingsand the ability to think. Intelligence in this sense is usually measured by the ability to answer standardized test questions in the classroom (IQ test). However the glorification of IQ in determining success still dominates learning in schools and one of them appears in the use of traditional learning methods, such as lectures and stories that are more inline with linguistic intelligence and rational approaches to mathematical logic that are more in line with logical mathematical intelligence. Even Islamic Religious Education  (PAI) learning is still mostly filled with memorization, ritual worship practices, religious dogmas and the like, to the point of unattractive, boring and less meaningful for studentswhose linguistic and mathematical intelligence is less prominent. Students can only study well if the material is delivered using methods that are in accordance with their most prominent intelligence. The types of intelligence incorporated in 9 multiple intelligences or Multiple Intelligence are: Linguistic Intelligence, Mathematical Logic Intelligence, Spatial Intelligence, Body Kinesthetic Intelligence, Musical Intelligence, Interpersonal Intelligence, Intrersonal Intelligence, Natural Intelligence, and Existential Intelligence. Compound intelligence in the view of Islam is explained in the ESQ book from Ari Ginanjar Brain Gym or Brain Gym can be done to improve the work performance of thebrain.Keywords: Education, Learning, Intelligence and Multiple Intelligence, Brain Gym.

Abstract

Punishment in the world of education is often carried out by educators, ranging from light punishment to severe punishment, both physical and mental punishment. However, these penalties will have a negative impact on children. Therefore, efforts are made to avoid penalties, especially physical punishment which can endanger students. Punishment in Islamic education is permissible as a demand for and improvement of students' behavior or behavior in a good direction so that they will not repeat mistakes again, as guidance or guidance from an educator towards the students that the correction he has done is an improper act.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of Islamic educational values to improve the character of students. Guidance and counseling services by instilling the values of Islamic education need to be carried out continuously to help optimize students in behaving in accordance with the norm, independent, honest, responsible and carrying out all the commands of the Almighty and away from His prohibitions based on theQur'an and As-sunnah. The methodology in this research is descriptive with a quantitative approach. The sampling technique was purposive sampling with a sample of 38 students. Data collection techniques are distributed through Likert scale questionnaires. The total number of items as many as 36 items relating to the values of Islamic education in improving student character. The collected data were analyzed using a percentage statistical formula. Procedures for implementing BK services in implementing Islamic educational values include the following: (1) lecturers associateeach material with Islamic educational values that will shape the character of students by playing games, telling stories, drawing, giving examples, expressing themselves, discussing student data in accordance with the needs assessment (2) expressing students 'feelings / ideas, / thoughts, (3) exploring students' feelings / ideas / thoughts, (4) discussing the results of exploring / deepening their feelings / ideas / thoughts withconcepts Islamic education, (5) students plan behaviors that will be carried out in the future.Keyword: Islamic Education Values, Character, Guidance and Counseling.

Abstract

Learning activity is an interesting because as individual and social creatures, humans always try to know something that is in their environment to show their human existence. Learning means trying to know something, trying to gain knowledge (intelligence, skills). And teaching is giving and explaining to others about a science. teaching and learning is an activity that is done in order to gain knowledge, whereas in the process itself there are students who receive knowledge and there are educators who give lessons. Abstract

Behavioristic Counseling is counseling offered by human behavior, also most of the students in the school. The purpose of behavioral counseling is to change behavior in accordance with the environment, by providing with therapy to students, then students will take the value related to the film, so that the value of film therapy can change the direction of Academic Procrastination to applied to students to be successful. The type ofresearch used is Qualitative. The sample drawing in this research are 11th grade of SMA swasta dharmawangsa. The technic of data accumulation is Interview, observation, and documentation. And then , technic data analysis is data reduction, data serving, and attract the conclusion. The result of research indicates all the positive things. that's alteration of student behavior which is used to delay those homework turns out to be the student who prepare those homework in no time. All the task that teachers gives can be prepared well. The things indicates that behavioristic counseling approach by using cinema therapy technic can solve academic procrastination that happens with students of SMA swasta Dharmawangsa Medan.Keyword: Behaviouristic Counseling, Cinema Therapy, Academic Procrastination

Abstract

The background of this study is to find out the role of BK teachers in increasing the motivation to learn students of natural disaster victims in MTsN Karo District. Karo, this was known through observation of interviews with BK teachers. Students who are victims of natural disasters appear to be anxious at the time of eruption of a mountain, causing the student to not focus during the learning process. Information services can be implemented by BK teachers in helping to increase the motivation to learn students ofnatural disaster victims. Peran Guru Bimbingan Konseling Dalam Meningkatkan Motivasi Belajar Siswa Korban Bencana Alam Gunung Sinabung Di Mtsn Negeri Karo Kabupaten Karo This research aims to find out how the role of BK teachers in improving student motivation to learn victims of natural disasters in MTsN Karo District. Karo This study uses qualitative research with a descriptive research approach that produces adescription in the form of written or oral words from the behavior of the participants and also research subjects that can be observed from social situations. After doing the research, it was found that the role of the BK teacher in increasing the motivation to learn students of natural disaster victims in MTsN Karo District. Karo, showed a pretty good change, where BK teachers provide services according to students' needs or according to what problems students are facing.Keywords: The Role of BK Teachers, Student Learning Motivation of Mount Sinabung
