Abstract

The residential area which is on the outskirts of the Jongaya Canal as one of the causes of pollution of the abiotic environment such as high quality garbage accumulation which has an impact on the pollution of Losari Beach as one of the landmarks of Makassar City. The Bontorannu urban area has several potentials that can be used as a supporting factor to encourage the revitalization of channels that can be used as air transportation because the Jongaya canal can be connected to Losari Beach and the surrounding islands, Coastal corridor fishing settlements (Makassar City RTRW 2015-2034) have a value more as an Integrated Business and Tourism Center. The purpose of community service is to 1) Identify the characteristics of the infrastructure of community settlements and the community's preference for the edge settlement of the Jongaya Canal in the Bontorannu Village, Mariso District, Makassar City. 2) Arranging directives in the slums in the Bontorannu Village, Mariso District, Makassar City, based on the community. The method used is appropriate stimulus assistance for the community because the required stimulus is engineered so that people's perceptions of the environment and settlements are as expected. The socialization on structuring the settlement area infrastructure has been carried out and approved by the people of the banks of the Jongaya canal directly, and has received feedback from the participants about the suggestions and assistance on how to improve community-based settlement infrastructure

Abstract

This community service activity aims to establish a cooperative relationship between the Department of Electrical Engineering, Hasanuddin University and Electrical Engineering Alumni in South Sulawesi. One of the most important professional skills for Electrical Engineering alumni is in the field of maintaining the distribution of electricity. This ability can help graduates to develop their talents, express themselves in the science of electrical engineering, and one of the skills capital to be ready to compete in the job market. That requires knowledge and work experience from electrical engineering alumni to master the field practically with the knowledge that requires refreshment of work competencies in the field of maintenance of electric power distribution. This activity provides training on maintenance of electric power distribution in the form of maintenance of medium voltage overhead, maintenance of distribution substations, maintenance of low voltage overhead, and maintenance of limiting and measuring devices. The preparatory process for the training begins with coordinating with electrical engineering alumni coordinated by partners who are represented through a business entity namely PT. Rahmat Alam Utama related to the schedule, participants, and materials to be given during the training. The implementation team then made some training modules in the form of softcopy as the main material of the training. The training was held for 1 (one) day, which is August 15, 2019, which was attended by 26 electrical engineering alumni. The results of the evaluation of activities through the questionnaire provided showed that most participants had a high level of interest in maintaining electricity distribution and still wanted to attend training at the next opportunity. In addition, there is also the addition of knowledge and skills of the majority of trainees.

Abstract

Big flood disaster in South Sulawesi Province has occurred on January 22 and 23 2019. This event is one of the disasters that is quite severe for the City of Makassar and its surroundings. This incident encouraged the community service team to serve the community. Community service program UNHAS-Community Partnership Program (PPMU-PK-M) has partnered with one of the business units (UD Prima Teknik) which is engaged in fence welding and building maintenance needs. UD Prima Teknik is located in Antang Village, Manggala District, Makassar City. UD Prima Teknik is a partner who has helped the community service team in designing mobile stoves fueled with coal and biomass briquettes. The stove that has been designed has been socialized and used for cooking needs in meeting food needs in disasters areas. This stove is designed from iron, strong, resilient, and easy to carry anywhere (especially to disasters areas). The fuel used on the stove is coal, wood or wood charcoal (biomass) briquettes. The choice of fuel, besides being easy to carry on a trip, is also a very low risk of danger compared to gas stoves that are mostly used by the community at this time. If in conditions of limited fuel briquettes and wood charcoal, then this stove can also use wood fuel that is in the vicinity of the disaster area. In disaster conditions in an area, the difficulty that is often experienced by the community is the difficulty of the supply / assistance of ready-to-eat food because of limited kitchen facilities (tools for cooking).

Abstract

This past year in Tellumpoccoe Village has made effective the performance of equipment with hybrid water supply technology through pump wells and automation technology and integrated filtering systems to improve water quality. For household level consumption, a family sample is taken to clean water and provide assistance during the installation process and the feasibility test for filtered water consumption. Besides that, an engineering team of 26 people had formed. With the passage of time the equipment has been able to be used by the community in tellumpoccoe village well until a major flood disaster occurred in early October last year 2018. So that as a result of the flooding the RO equipment was soaked so that it could no longer be used. New problems arise because of the ignorance of the community to improve the tool. So as to overcome these problems, training is conducted to overcome the existing problems so that the equipment can be reused. So that this community service activity was held which aims to provide training on how to maintain and repair (Trouble Shooting) the existing RO system so that villagers will be able to maintain the sustainability of the clean water mechanism.

Abstract

Dense settlements on the outskirts of Jongaya Canal, Bontorannu Urban Village, are one of the causes of the pollution of the Losari beach environment as a landmark in Makassar. The accumulation of rubbish along the canal further strengthens people's behavior in disposing garbage in the canal. The Bontorannu urban area has several potentials that can be used as supporting factors in revitalization efforts, namely canals that can be used as water transportation because the Jongaya canal can be connected to Losari Beach and surrounding islands. As a fisherman settlements located in urban area and also in a strategic area of a coastal corridor that has more value as an Integrated Business and Tourism Center (Makassar City RTRW 2015-2034), it certainly becomes an attraction. The purpose of community dedication is to 1) Identify the characteristics of the infrastructure of community settlements and the community's preference for the condition of the edge of the Jongaya Canal settlement in the Bontorannu Village, Mariso District, Makassar City. 2) Arranging the direction of environmental structuring in slums in Bontorannu Sub-district Mariso District Makassar City based on community. The method used is a focus group discussion (FGD) to get input on the needs and problems in their environment as well as providing appropriate stimulus to the community so that community perceptions and proposals for handling problems with the environment and settlement conditions are as expected. Recommended directions for dealing with settlement conditions include: procurement of street lights, addition of trash bins in each corridor and canal edge, land acquisition in RW 1, RW 2, RW 3, and RW 4 to open road access, provide parking area for tourists who come to visit, as well as the desire of the community to sell culinary, souvenirs, and making photo spots to attract tourists to increase the community economy.

Abstract

This activity aims to improve the quality of drinking water with a reverse osmosis system that is water filtration treatment to neutralize the taste, odor and hazardous substances contained in water up to 0,0001 microns. One obstacle faced by Hidayatullah Islamic Boarding School, Timbuseng Village, Pattalassang Subdistrict, Gowa Regency is very dependent on traditional management and the use of gallon water supply services, so that it requires a lot of energy and a long time and high costs if provided by buying gallon water . With Community Service Activities this reverse osmosis assistance is expected to be an alternative supply of drinking water that is suitable for consumption so that staff / students can avoid the risk of disease and make time and money spent to buy gallon water efficient.

Abstract

Bulucindea Village has the potential of mangrove forest tourism which is a coastal conservation area in Pangkajene and Kepulauan Regency (Pangkep). As part of the development of the area, three main zones were determined in the master plan, namely the zone of mangrove forests for environmental conservation, the zone of sea transportation facilities for docks, and the economic zone for traditional markets. Traditional market planning in Bulucindea Village is adapted to the physical condition of the location as a mangrove conservation area that must maintain environmental sustainability. To improve the regional economy, planning is also based on the needs of the local community. Thus the main problem of location is how to plan traditional market facilities in coastal areas that are adaptive to the environment and the economic needs of the community. Based on these considerations, community service activities are carried out, through empowerment and socialization to the community in the planning and design of traditional markets in the Bulucindea Village. The activity phase includes the analysis of problems through observing environmental conditions, and carrying out FGDs and socialization to obtain input from the community related to traditional market planning that suits community needs and the physical condition of the coastal environment of Bulucindea Village. From the community service activities, the planning concept that is considered appropriate for the coastal area of the Bulucindea Village is the concept of "Floating Traditional Market". The concept is expected to facilitate the economic activities of the community without damaging the natural habitat of the local environment, and with the community service activities it is expected that the community can take an active role in preserving the mangrove forests on the coast of the Bulucindea Village.

Abstract

Cassava which is commonly planted by farmers in Borong Loe Village, Bonto Marannu District, Gowa Regency is local cassava. The time needed from the planting process until the cassava is ready for harvest ± 6-7 months. Cassava crops are sold for various needs such as one of the important food ingredients as a source of carbohydrate intake. The harvesting process used by farmers today is still using the manual method, which is to use hand pulling. so it requires a long time and more energy in extracting the tubers. The absence of tools or technology used in harvesting cassava (cassava), so the use of hands for the harvesting process causes the cassava farmers to easily experience fatigue and complaints of sick hands. Through the Unhas Community Service Program-Community Partnership Program, the appropriate technology is designed and made in the form of a cassava extractor with a mechanization system to facilitate farmers in harvesting their cassava yields. From the results of research and measurement of lift force in the field that has been carried out in the trial the tool is able to change the compressive force of the operator's hand at 334.49 N to lift or pull force of 2000 N

Abstract

PT Gunung Marmer Raya (PT GMR), a room and pillar underground marble mining is located about 73 km to the north from Makassar, in Desa Tabo-Tabo, Kecamatan Bungoro, Kabupaten Pangkep. In the mining location, discontinuities are found as joint structure across the production area. The purpose of this service is to make pillar redesign that can improve the stability of underground mine. These activities start with field observation, determining the rock characteristic through sample testing in the laboratory, classifying the rock mass using Q-system method, up to redesigning a form of implementation to increase the stability of the marble underground mine. According to calculation of rock mass classification using Q-System, the recommended buffering is systematic bolting and fiber reinforced sprayed concrete as thick as 5-6 cm with spacing between bolts of 2.2 meters, or systematic bolting without concrete layering with spacing between-bolt 1.8 meter. Joint monitoring, especially on pillars, need to be done routinely so joint movement could be anticipated for progressive movement. The existing dimensions of pillar 5 m x 5 m in length and width is not recommended due to the safety factor is under 1,0 (unstable condition). Based on observation and analytic calculation, for each pillar height of up to 11 meters the pillar is recommended to redesign with length and width 5 m x 9 m for the chain pillar (safety factor around 1.35-1.49); and 5 m x 12 m for barrier pillars (safety factor around 1.58-1.74). Abstract

Keselamatan transportasi adalah hal yang mutlak harus dipenuhi. Keselamatan ini meliputi moda transportasi darat, kereta api, udara dan laut. Keselamatan transportasi laut memiliki beberapa elemen yang harus dipenuhi. Keselamatan transportasi laut untuk selanjutnya disebut keselamatan pelayaran setidaknya harus memenuhi 2 kriteria yang layak. Pertama adalah layak laut dan kedua adalah layak layar. Layak laut adalah terpenuhinya 12 kriteria sesuai dengan ketentuan yang terdapat dalam International Safety Mangement (ISM) Code bab IX, layak layar adalah suatu keadaan terpenuhinya keamanan kapal untuk berlayar yang terdiri atas 4 kriteria. Keamanan kapal meliputi kondisi kapal dan crew kapal yang memenuhi syarat untuk menjaga keamanan kapal. Dua kriteria ini menunjukkan bahwa keselamatan pelayaran memiliki lingkup tanggungjawab dari sisi darat dalam hal ini oleh Syahbandar dan keselamatan diatas kapal menjadi tanggungjawab nakhoda/pengemudi kapal. Di Kabupaten Bone pesisir kecamatan Tanete Riattang Timur, para nelayan sebagian besar belum mengetahui standar keselamatan pelayaran minimal di laut, dan ketersediaan alat-alat keselamatan di atas kapal masih sangat minim dan belum memenuhi standar atruran yang di tetapkan. Dari hasil sosialisasi yang di laksanakan di daerah ini, para nelayan sangat antusias mendengarkan sehingga tingkat kesadaran dan pemahaman masyarakat nelayan akan semakin meningkat tentang pentingnya keselamatan dalam berlayar. Luaran dari kegiatan ini adalah meningkatnya kesadaran masyarakat, khususnya masyarakat nelayan yang tinggal di pesisir di wilayah kecamatan Tanette Riattang Timur kabupaten Bone. Diharapkan kedepannya masyarakat nelayan semakin tinggi kesadarannya tentang pentingnya keselamatan dalam pelayaran, sehingga dalam berlayar untuk menangkap ikan, mereka sudah mempersiapkan alat-alat minimal peralatan keselamatan berupa life jacket dalam pelayaran
