Abstract

This paper is the result of a qualitative descriptive type of literature study. The purpose of this study was to describe what changes Shibuichi Setsuko made in the Chuumon no Ooi Ryouri Ten anime as an adaptation work from Miyazawa Kenji's children's short story with the same title. In addition, it also describes what pedagogical values are contained in this adaptation work. The method used is a comparative method to compare the anime version of the Chuumon no Ooi Ryouri Ten narrative with the short story intrinsic element. Meanwhile, based on the four main points of teaching Seikatsuka or life environment studies that applied in Japanese elementary schools, pedagogical values of this anime can be reveal. As a result of the analysis of Shibuichi Setsuko's creative adaptation, four changes were found in the anime version. The four changes lie in the number of characters, characterizations, plot stages, and location setting. Whereas as a result of the analysis of pedagogical values, it is known that this anime fulfills the four main points of the Seikatsuka. This is parallel with Altman's assumption about children's films which suggest that children's film viewers are expected to get teaching, morality, and understanding of identity as a pedagogical experience to improve the quality of life from what they watch. Keywords: adaptation, anime, children's short stories, pedagogical values

Abstract

People who learn Japanese, especially those who speak Javanese as their mother tongue, meet difficulties to differ fricative sounds in Japanese [s, z, ɕ, ʑ]. That’s why, this research is aimed to find the factors which cause the wrong perception to fricative sounds in Japanese for those learners who speak Javanese as their mother tongue. This research was done to 16 respondents by asking them to answer listening test of 24 words in multiple choice questions with four options from the vocabularies which have no meaning made from sounds [s, z, ɕ, ʑ] which are combined to vowel sound /a/, /u/, /o/. Based on the research result, it can be concluded that the major factor which causes the wrong perception is inexistence of  [s, z, ɕ, ʑ] sounds in Javanese phonemic system, thus it affects their listening competence. Sound [ɕ] is identified by the sound [s], and sound [z] is often identified by the sound [Ɉ]. In addition, sound [ʑ] is also changed by the sound [Ɉ] and its alophone [Ɉh]. The learners is often confused to listen this sound as [ɕ]. Keywods: analysis of perception, fricative, Javanese, Japanese, Indonesian native speakers

He has written numerous novels and through his works such as Hana wo Hakobu Imouto, he depicts upon the relationship between nature and women. through this novel i assume nature can be seen as a representation about femininity and has interconnection with women. According to my assumption, i analyze this novel by employing the culture eco-feminism perspective to aim at showing how nature can be represented as a symbol of femininity through portraying the women characters and the setting of place of the story in this novel. The result is found that the water and iearth as nature elements which have been portrayed dominanly in every setting of places in the story, The water is represended across by river in Paris, rain in Thailand, and sea in Bali show a symbol as a 'mother's womb' called fetus which is very important to protect for someone's life. Abstract

This paper entitled the view of Japanese society towards transsexual character in the movie “Karera ga honki de amu toki wa”. The main goal of this writing paper is to know about the view of Japanese society towards transsexual character which described  in the movie Karera ga honki de amu toki wa. To analyze the description of heteronormativity in society that Naoko Ogigami wishes to convey in this film, we use the labeling theory in Narwoko and Suyanto and the literary sociology theory of Wellek and Warren by focusing on the second point, namely the sociology of literature. From the results of the analysis, it can be explained that the views of Japanese society on the transsexual figures portrayed in this film are not good. The act of labeling Rekso as a bad character in the film illustrates that there are still some Japanese people who have not accepted the existence of transsexuals. From the five aspects of sociology analyzed for this film, it can be concluded that although Japan is a country that is considered tolerant, they have not been able to fully accept transgender people in their social environment. Especially in aspects such as education, social and cultural aspects. Keywords: Film, Japanese Society, View, Transsexual, Character
